A Massacre
Central Park, a vast urban park in the heart of Manhattan, New York City, was not only a famous filming location for countless movies, but also one of the most visited places in all of America.
But at that moment, the entire park had been sealed off by the police. They had received orders from above: an extremely terrifying serial killer had appeared in the park. To stop him and ensure the safety of the public, the police had to lock the area down—people could leave, but no one could enter—until the heroes arrived.
This was no longer an ordinary terrorist attack that regular people could face. News of large numbers of superheroes disappearing in recent days could no longer be suppressed. Although Nick Fury had tried to use his influence to interfere, the information was still spread by those with ulterior motives.
The Avengers task force, the Defenders of Hell’s Kitchen, the renowned Iron Man Tony Stark, and the Fantastic Four—one superhero after another had been added to the list of the dead. No one knew who would be next, nor did anyone know who could stop that terrifying demon.
A vast number of people had fallen into extreme panic. Many said this would be the "end of heroes" in this world. At the same time, it made certain gang members even more reckless, and crime rates everywhere soared to unprecedented heights.
Before this, no one knew the killer’s identity. This massacre in Central Park was the first time the murderer had exposed himself to the public eye.
According to many tourists who had escaped from Central Park, they had seen a blood-soaked freak fighting a dinosaur in the park. The aftermath of the battle had already caused numerous civilian casualties.
Though those "heroes" were resisting with all their strength, they were still no match for the killer. That damned bastard would not even spare children.
At the center of Central Park—
"Hide-and-seek has begun~ Come out, come out~ No matter where you’re hiding!"
Deadpool swung his two Carbonadium Blades, slicing open Devil Dinosaur’s belly as he crawled out from its enormous body. He bared his teeth in a savage grin as he staggered to his feet.
"Nice try, big guy, but that’s not how you play hide-and-seek~" Deadpool glanced back at Devil Dinosaur, who could not have been more dead, panting heavily before slowly turning his head toward an open patch of ground nearby.
There, a Black girl stared at Deadpool with a face full of terror. She sat limply on the ground, as though Deadpool’s horrific slaughter had frightened her senseless.
When Deadpool saw the girl, the corners of his mouth slowly split apart into a savage, terrifying smile.
"Aha~ Moon Girl, I found you~"
"N-no, no, don’t kill me."
The Black girl trembled all over. Her throat and tongue seemed frozen solid by overwhelming terror, leaving her unable to finish even a full sentence. She could only stammer in broken fragments.
Just as Deadpool had said, the Black girl was Moon Girl. Her real name was Lunella Lafayette. She had Inhuman blood flowing through her body and was also a young inventor with extraordinary intelligence. She was only twelve years old.
Due to an accident, Moon Girl had formed a connection with Devil Dinosaur from the dinosaur world. Whenever she became angry, she could switch consciousnesses with Devil Dinosaur, and with that ability and its help, she had become a "superhero."
But in her current state, let alone fighting back, even getting up and running away was a luxury.
Deadpool strolled slowly up to Moon Girl. Without the slightest hesitation, and without any pity for her miserable condition, he brought down his blade and severed her head. To Deadpool, it seemed as though this was nothing more than a game.
"T-they… they’re still just children!" Some civilians hiding nearby covered their mouths, unable to believe what they were seeing.
"My God." No one had expected this Butcher to be so utterly deranged. He had not even spared children, with no intention whatsoever of stopping.
Beside Devil Dinosaur’s corpse, Ms. Marvel—Kamala—was barely clinging to life. She had just endured Deadpool’s direct assault, and her abilities were simply incapable of withstanding the crazed Deadpool.
Deadpool had prepared all kinds of traps before the battle began, especially the Electromagnetic Pulse and Quantum Cannon designed specifically for Ms. Marvel. In barely over a dozen exchanges, Deadpool had stabbed straight through her.
But the powerful vitality of the Inhumans kept her from dying immediately. She used every ounce of strength she had to whisper into her communication bracelet. "Run… run… go find the Avengers."
But before she could finish, Deadpool had somehow appeared behind her. He grabbed her by the hair and lifted her entire body into the air. Looking at the connected bracelet, Deadpool leaned his face close to it.
"Ah, ah, it’s useless. You can’t escape the palm of my hand. I’ll find every single one of you, one by one. Then it’ll be my turn to hide, and you’ll come looking for me~"
After saying that, Deadpool flung Ms. Marvel away. Like a battered garbage bag, she was tossed beside a trash can at the roadside. Then Deadpool turned his gaze toward the civilians who had not managed to escape in time.
"Oho~ Oho~ I’m coming to catch you~" Deadpool’s gaze gradually turned bloodthirsty. "If you don’t come out, I’ll have to invite you out another way."
Before his words had even faded, Deadpool pulled out his handgun and opened indiscriminate fire on the crowd. In an instant, casualties appeared among them. The terrified people scattered in every direction, but the bullets Deadpool fired seemed to have eyes, lodging themselves in the back of every person’s head.
A horrifying feast of slaughter had begun. Facing unarmed ordinary people, Deadpool instantly transformed into a bloodthirsty wolf charging into a flock of sheep, harvesting one fresh life after another.
"Don’t! Stop!" At that moment, a girl in a yellow combat suit could no longer hold herself back and stepped forward.
She wore a golden-yellow skintight suit resembling a fitted spacesuit, with a star emblem on her chest. But what shocked people was that she looked no older than an elementary school student.
With the little girl’s appearance, three more children soon pushed against the fleeing crowd and came forward to stand before Deadpool. Two boys and one girl, their combat suits matched the girl’s in style but differed in color—silver-white, blue, and red. Yet they shared one thing in common—they were all very young.
"N-no, run!" Ms. Marvel’s eyes widened when she saw those children. The next moment, she breathed her last.
