A Mummy That Eats and Breathes Is No Good Mummy

An armed helicopter needed a pilot and a weapons operator, and the five helicopters that attacked Li Feng were no exception.

But as Li Feng looked at the ten corpses on the ground, he felt a little troubled. What if there wasn’t enough gauze at home to make mummies?

After scratching his head and thinking for a moment, Li Feng finally tore off the ten men’s clothes and made them into strips of burial cloth. None of them would need clothes anymore anyway. Throwing them out would be a waste, so he might as well put them to use.

This was called environmental protection, definitely not because Li Feng didn’t have enough money in his pocket to buy gauze.

Besides, mummies had to look like mummies. Did it make sense for them to wear clothes? Only by going out wrapped in cloth strips could they display the refined, classy taste befitting a mummy.

Before long, Li Feng dragged ten mummies wrapped in tattered strips of multicolored cloth out of the motorhome.

At the entrance of the motorhome, Potts finally breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Li Feng come out.

Although Potts knew Kreacher would protect her too, she still felt safer with Li Feng protecting her personally. Kreacher just looked far too frail.

But when she saw a whole line of mummies following behind Li Feng, she instinctively covered her nose and mouth and stepped back several paces, whether from fear at the sight of moving mummies or from the rotten stench wafting off them.

Seeing this, Li Feng kicked the slowest mummy, signaling the mummies to stand at attention in an open area. Then he turned to Potts and reassured her, "Don’t worry, these bastards are my laborers." After a pause, Li Feng said boastfully, "Laborers who don’t get paid, don’t get vacations, and don’t dare fight back even if I beat them for slacking off or working too slowly."

At the end, Li Feng winked at Potts and asked, "Uh… you won’t report me to the Workers’ Association for abusing laborers, will you?"

Li Feng’s joking words, coupled with his presence beside her, made Potts feel much safer. Relaxing, she rolled her eyes and said, "I think you left something out." Pointing at the row of mummies, Potts joked, "You’ve even saved on feeding them."

After a brief pause, Potts turned to Li Feng uncertainly. "Mummies don’t eat, right?"

Li Feng stroked his chin and pretended to ponder. "How about I instill in them the idea that ‘a mummy that eats and breathes is no good mummy’?"

"Instill ideas? You really have too much time on your hands," Potts said, giving Li Feng a speechless glance. As she curiously studied the mummies, she asked, "Who are they? Why did they attack you?"

Li Feng shrugged indifferently and curled his lip. "Who else could they be? There are soldiers guarding my doorstep. Only a few forces could get helicopters to fly in here."

Potts tilted her head and thought for a moment before analyzing, "One group must be the people who launched the Nuclear Weapon at New York, right? Since they had the authority to launch a Nuclear Weapon, they naturally had the means to avoid the military’s attention."

"As for the other group…" A sense of foreboding suddenly rose in Potts’s heart, and she quickly asked, "Was the other group Killian?"

Seeing Potts’s anxious expression, Li Feng activated the spell on Stark. After taking a look, he said, "Relax, your troublemaker is fine."

As he spoke, Li Feng placed his right hand on Potts’s shoulder and transmitted the image of Stark hiding inside a speedboat and remotely controlling his armor into Potts’s mind.

But when Potts saw Stark’s bruised and battered face, with blood still hanging from the bridge of his nose and the corner of his eye, she immediately asked worriedly, "Austin, could you please help heal Tony?"

"That’s a bit difficult." Li Feng scratched his head and said apologetically, "Stark isn’t in a restricted environment. He’s on a fast-moving speedboat. Unless I focus entirely on keeping the Portal synchronized with the speedboat’s movement, but that would also mean I couldn’t spare the attention to heal Stark. Unless Stark stops the boat and lets me cast the spell."

After thinking about it, Li Feng beckoned, causing the phone to fly into his hand. He then said apologetically, "Potts, I’m still not very skilled with the spell that transmits images into your mind, so let’s stop for today." As he spoke, Li Feng handed her the phone. "How about you call Stark and talk to him for a while?"

"Thank you." Potts forced a smile, took the phone, and dialed Stark’s number.

Once the call connected, Potts frantically tugged at her hair and paced back and forth, her voice tinged with tears. "Tony, can you let Austin help save Happy? I want this life of constant fear and worry to end as soon as possible."

Meanwhile, Stark was hiding inside the speedboat, remotely controlling his armor to rescue the thirteen unlucky people who had been forced to jump without parachutes from Air Force One. Hearing Potts’s heartbroken voice, he asked in utter confusion, "Honey, what’s wrong? Did something happen again?"

"Nothing happened here. I’m fine." Potts wiped at the corner of her eye and said painfully, "Look at what you look like now. You need treatment."

Guessing that Li Feng had probably peeked at him again, Stark subconsciously touched the bruise at the corner of his eye and said awkwardly, "These are just minor injuries. It’s nothing serious. Maybe you should see the guys I beat up. Not a single one of them can stand."

After a moment of silence, Stark said with a trace of apology, "I already know Killian’s plan and where he’s hiding. I’ll get back as soon as I can to spend Christmas with you."

With that, Stark hurriedly hung up. Right now, he also wanted to rescue Happy as soon as possible, return to Potts’s side, and enjoy a peaceful life.

Potts helplessly held the phone as the busy tone sounded, silently praying that Stark would return safely.

After praying, Potts was about to return the phone to Li Feng when she saw that he had somehow found a branch as thick as a thigh bone. Carrying it over his shoulder, he stood before the ten mummies with a bandit-like air and began lecturing them.

"What you ate from me, you’ll spit back out. What you took from me, you’ll return. You destroyed my sailboat…" Li Feng pointed the stick at the mummies. "You’ll rebuild it for me, or else…"

"Heh heh." Li Feng sneered, his tone sinister. "I hear that mummy powder has nourishing yin and boosting yang effects. Believe it or not, I’ll hang you from flagpoles and dry you out, then scrape powder off you every day. Don’t worry. Once you’re reduced to just heads, I’ll use magic to restore your bodies so I can keep scraping powder off you."

Seeing the line of mummies trembling like quails, Li Feng nodded in satisfaction. He pointed the stick at the mummy in front of him and asked, "Tell me who you were when you were alive, and why you blew up my boat."

The mummy pointed at by the stick was still dazed. He had only been a nameless helicopter pilot. While alive, he liked watching fantasy movies and had dreamed of becoming a spellcaster one day, but he had never imagined that Mages truly existed in the real world.

Even less had he expected an ordinary mission to turn him into a mummy. Where was he supposed to seek justice?

Even going to Hell after death would have been better than having someone toy with his soul.

Filled with resentment and malice, the mummy pointed at another mummy and said in Necrolanguage, "Mage, I’m just a nobody. I don’t know anything. He was our Captain when he was alive. We only followed his orders. Please spare me."

As he spoke, the mummy was about to kneel and beg Li Feng.

Li Feng curled his lip and kicked him aside. When he turned to the Captain, he saw the latter lowering his head humbly and quickly explaining the entire sequence of events.

In the end, Li Feng had been attacked because he had not been cautious enough back then—or rather, because he had underestimated technological methods.

After Maya Hansen had been sent back to New York by Li Feng, Killian found her almost immediately and openly and secretly tried to learn Potts’s whereabouts. But Maya Hansen had been affected by Li Feng’s spell, so naturally she knew nothing. Even Killian’s harsh interrogation got him nowhere.

At first, Killian had no way to deal with the amnesiac Maya Hansen, while also being curious about what exactly had happened to her.

His men had clearly seen Maya Hansen’s car near Stark’s home when they attacked Stark. Yet when Maya Hansen appeared again afterward, she was somehow on the streets of New York.

And Potts, who should have been at the villa, had still not been found.

Killian was puzzled. Where was Potts? And what had happened to Maya Hansen to erase her memories of everything between arriving at Stark’s home and mysteriously appearing on the streets of New York?

Driven by curiosity, Killian gave Maya Hansen a thorough examination. He even took the dirt from her shoes for environmental comparison.

Maya Hansen had been to Li Feng’s home, so the mud on her shoes had naturally come from there.

What happened afterward went without saying. Once Killian deduced where Potts was, he naturally would not miss the chance to use her to threaten Stark, and he confidently dispatched helicopters.

Killian’s misfortune was that he had been too arrogant. He thought regenerating severed limbs and breathing fire made him invincible, so he dared cause trouble for Li Feng without even finding out who he was.

After a long while, Li Feng stared at the mummy with a twitching eye. The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. He swung the stick and smashed it against the mummy, cursing as he struck, "My poor sailboat! It was finally almost ready to be used, and you just blew it up? If you wanted to capture someone, then capture them. Why did you have to use missiles? What if Potts had been killed?"

The beaten mummy curled up on the ground with his head covered and said aggrievedly, "We brought first-aid kits and the Extremis Virus. As long as Ms. Potts still had a breath left, we could guarantee that she would live to see Killian."

Beside them, Potts could not understand Necrolanguage. She only knew that Li Feng was getting more enthusiastic with every hit, so she asked in confusion, "Austin, what did they say?"

"What else could they say?" Li Feng grew increasingly aggrieved over his sailboat and snapped the stick in half from sheer force. Then he turned and recounted the cause of the incident to Potts with plenty of embellishment.

The main point was to make Potts understand that Killian’s target had been her, while his home being blown up had been completely undeserved collateral damage.

After hearing Li Feng’s account, Potts turned to look at the devastated lakeside and said apologetically, "Austin, I’m sorry. This is trouble Tony brought you. After this, I’ll have Tony help you rebuild your home by the lake."

After speaking, Potts gritted her teeth, then gave a deflated, bitter smile. "I never thought I would become Tony’s weakness. It’s a shame I can’t pilot an armored suit. Otherwise, I would definitely teach Killian a lesson. He actually dared use me to threaten Tony."

Seeing Potts’s expression of wanting revenge with her own hands while resenting her lack of strength, Li Feng glanced at the setting sun and said, "Later, I’ll take you to find Killian. I’ll lend you a mask then, so you’ll be able to protect yourself."

Li Feng licked his lips, his voice turning cold. "As for Killian, he’s mine. I’ll make him build the sailboat himself, then hang him from the bow as a decoration."
