Aftermath
The New York Battle had temporarily drawn to a close, but the impact of this incident was far from over.
For the first time, Earthlings learned of the existence of aliens. There was no way this incident could be covered up. New York City was both highly renowned and extremely important on Earth, and the alien invasion that took place there spread across the entire planet in less than twenty-four hours.
Though they did not know the specific details, they knew the outcome: the aliens had been driven off Earth.
Humanity was not the only race in the universe. Alien civilizations had appeared, but they had come not in peace, but to invade Earth directly. This left all Earthlings deeply nervous and afraid.
Of course, not everyone felt that way.
In China, there was singing and celebration, because the Chinese people had learned that their guardian deity had quietly built a powerful Space Fleet.
The aliens, who had seemed powerful and left America helpless, had possessed no room whatsoever to resist before China’s Space Force.
The South Heaven Gate Project was brought up once more by people across the nation. Only then did everyone realize that it had not been a prank or fantasy—China had actually brought the South Heaven Gate Project to life!
After this incident, China no longer concealed anything from its own people. It openly announced the existence of the Space Force and released information on its various weapons and equipment.
The Qing Luan Space Fighter possessed formidable firepower. It could reach speeds dozens of times faster than sound within the atmosphere and move even faster in space, where it also had tremendous combat capabilities.
During the New York Battle, the Qing Luan Fighter had demonstrated its abilities as well, wiping out the Chitauri army without suffering any damage.
As for the Xingtian Armor, there was hardly any need to say more. A humanoid mech dozens of meters tall was intimidating enough just standing there, never mind its firepower!
Moreover, the Xingtian Armor’s strength had been fully displayed in this battle. It had smashed through the spacecraft’s shield, and no one doubted its combat power after witnessing its overwhelming firepower.
As for the Kunpeng Mothership, its final magic-energy cannon had directly destroyed the enemy spacecraft. Its capabilities spoke for themselves.
China did not release the information that the magic-energy cannon had spatially locked onto and destroyed the enemy’s other ships, because footage of the Chitauri spacecraft being destroyed was already enough to thrill the Chinese people.
China’s various Space Battleships were also equipped with spatial jump engines, allowing them to travel through space directly from the jump point in this region of space. With the physical constitutions Chinese people possessed now, they did not need to care too much about the bodily harm caused by the immense pressure of a jump. They could simply ignore that pressure.
After the New York Battle, China even laid all its cards on the table before its own people. It stopped pretending and publicly posted space-related jobs, openly recruiting a group of "explorers" to develop outer space. Whether it was contacting aliens or seeking resources, these were all necessities for China at present.
Developing extraterrestrial resources could no longer be handled by state-owned enterprises and the military alone. Assistance from society was urgently needed.
This made all of China even more excited, and people eagerly signed up. After all, who would not want to build a future in space? Who would not want to become a "pioneer"?
Earth was only so large, and everyone had only so many opportunities to develop. China now had 1.4 billion people, and many of them had aspirations but nowhere to put those ambitions into practice.
But now, the boundless universe was filled with opportunities everywhere!
Was 1.4 billion people a lot?
For Earth, it was an enormous number. But before the universe, 1.4 billion people could not even stir the slightest ripple. For the Chinese people, opportunities were everywhere.
At this time, the vast majority of Chinese people had already evolved, possessing formidable strength that would allow them to roam the boundless universe!
Furthermore, the military would train citizens brave enough to venture into space for development. In particular, the explorers would no longer face any restrictions on force. In space, the ban on firearms would be lifted. If the Descendants of the Yellow Emperor wanted to survive in the universe, they had to reclaim their courage and fighting spirit.
Traveling beyond Earth was not the same as living on Earth. On Earth, the Chinese military could ensure the safety of every citizen, but that was impossible in the vast, boundless universe. To protect themselves, citizens had to possess enough power to do so themselves.
The bodies of Evolved People alone were not enough. They also needed weapons and equipment!
For explorers preparing to venture out and explore space, the military would sell military-grade Kirin Armor and various types of equipment from the South Heaven Gate Project, including but not limited to Xingtian Armor and Qing Luan Fighters, ensuring that every citizen developing in outer space possessed formidable power.
Of course, ordinary individual weapons, magical equipment, and magic-energy technology could all be sold. Even things like Thor’s Spear could be purchased. China’s level of magical development was no longer low, and quite a few graduates from the Magic-Martial School were skilled in artifact forging. Thor’s Spear was not something they could not make.
However, to prevent Thor’s Spear from spreading beyond control, its usage authorization would be personally customized. In other words, aside from the buyer, no one else could theoretically use it! Of course, buyers also had the right to grant designated usage rights, allowing others—such as crewmates aboard the same ship—to use it as well.
Naturally, this was the situation in China. China had concealed nothing from its people and publicized every cause and consequence of the matter in full, including how S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel had opened the portal that allowed the aliens to invade Earth from within. Otherwise, those aliens would not have been able to approach Earth at all!
In other countries, however, due to America’s control over information, the existence of China’s Space Force was deliberately downplayed. Many people, under America’s control, could not learn the truth at all. They only knew that aliens had invaded New York and then been driven back. As for what had actually happened, few knew.
China could not be bothered with such matters. Would China now still care how others viewed it? Whether they were astonished or fearful made no difference to China.
Of course, if anyone dared to slander or insult China, then they should not blame China for being impolite.
The Space Force’s feat of destroying a Sanctuary Ship from Thanos’s legion spread through the universe at incredible speed. Before long, most people in the universe would know that the Descendants of the Yellow Emperor who had emerged from Earth were not beings just anyone could afford to provoke!
