Yang Quan explained the grievances between the Pill Alliance and Qin Ming in great detail.
"Shameless! The Pill Alliance is far too shameless!" the old man said indignantly.
"Old Ancestor, there is something I'm not sure if I did correctly," Yang Quan said softly, stealing a careful glance at the old man.
"What is it?" The old man looked toward Yang Quan.
"Without your permission, I told Qin Ming that I wanted to form an alliance with him," Yang Quan said cautiously.
Thinking back on it later, he realized he had been somewhat impulsive; he was only the successor of the Family, not the head of the house. How could he represent the Family?
Furthermore, for a matter of such magnitude, even if he were the head of the house, he should have consulted with the Old Ancestor first.
"And how did he respond?" the old man asked curiously.
"He said that forming an alliance wasn't something I could decide, and told me to come back and ask the Old Ancestor. If we are still willing, we can let him know at the Shadow Stronghold. Oh, I forgot to mention, Shadow is a part of the Huayu Sect," Yang Quan explained.
"Good, this way of handling things is quite reasonable," the old man laughed. He thought to himself that if Qin Ming had agreed immediately, it would have been improper.
Although he was on good terms with Yang Quan, he currently had the Pill Alliance as an enemy. If he had accepted Yang Quan's proposal for an alliance, it would be equivalent to dragging the Yang Family into the conflict, which would carry the suspicion of exploiting Yang Quan.
By telling Yang Quan to speak with him first before forming the alliance, it showed true sincerity.
"So, should we form an alliance with Qin Ming?" Yang Quan asked in a low voice. He strongly advocated for the alliance, but since Qin Ming was an enemy of the Pill Alliance, joining forces with him now meant the Family would be taking a significant risk.
"Of course we'll ally. I still owe him a favor, so this is the perfect time to repay it," the old man said with a hearty laugh.
"But, the Pill Alliance…" Yang Quan stammered.
"The Pill Alliance is just the Pill Alliance, it's nothing special. Though I am old, I can still fight. Besides, that Medicinal Pill you brought back reshaped my body. Although I look aged now, I feel better than ever before," the old man laughed, dispelling Yang Quan's doubts.
His decision to ally with Qin Ming was partly to repay the favor, but he wouldn't drag the entire Family down just for that.
Allying with Qin Ming had both pros and cons.
The downside was naturally becoming an enemy of the Pill Alliance. However, he was also in the Martial Venerable Realm, and since the Pill Alliance had lost one Martial Venerable, they only had two left. If he allied with Qin Ming, they would also have two Martial Venerables, so they wouldn't necessarily fear the Pill Alliance's Martial Venerables.
The upside was Qin Ming himself. He had become a Martial Venerable at such a young age; allying with him now was like investing in him. If he grew even further in the future, just a little help from him would bring immense benefits to the Yang Family.
"Then I'll go inform Qin Ming right away." Yang Quan was overjoyed. He had come specifically to discuss this with the Old Ancestor, and now that it was settled, he wanted to share the good news with Qin Ming immediately.
"Go ahead!" The old man laughed and waved his hand.
Yang Quan no longer hesitated and turned to walk toward the You Family. He wanted to check if the Third Young Master of the You Family had settled his part of the matter.
Just as he arrived at the entrance of the You Family, he saw the Third Young Master of the You Family coming out of the You Family residence. Seeing Yang Quan approach, he looked delighted: "Yang Quan, where are you going?"
"Where else could I be going? I came here specifically to find you," Yang Quan said, panting for breath.
