Agreement

"Exactly! How did I not think of that?"

Uchiha Fugaku said excitedly, "Our Uchiha Clan’s Sharingan is extremely helpful for precise Chakra control. Every Uchiha who awakens their eyes has the talent to become a Medical Ninja.

"Lady Tsunade’s medical reform places the protection of Medical Ninjas first. As long as they become Medical Ninjas, the clan’s young seedlings can receive the greatest possible protection."

"Go back and persuade the old diehards in the clan. At the high-level meeting three days from now, you know what you should say."

After saying this, Gu Sheng slowly closed his eyes. "I’m tired and want to rest. Go out! Oh, and everything I told you today must stay buried in your stomach. It must not be connected to me in the slightest.

"You absolutely cannot reveal that matter concerning the ANBU. Otherwise, let alone you and me—even the Uchiha will suffer."

"I understand. Get some good rest!"

Uchiha Fugaku opened his mouth, but in the end, he could not say anything else. He bowed toward Gu Sheng’s bedside, then turned and walked out of the room.

"Remember, Shimura Danzō’s words can never be trusted. He covets the Sharingan and is wholly bent on destroying the Uchiha. If you truly obey his orders, the Uchiha will march toward ruin."

When Uchiha Fugaku reached the door, those words came from behind him again. He paused, did not look back, lifted the curtain, and left the room.

"Sigh! Will anything change?"

After Uchiha Fugaku left, Gu Sheng opened his eyes. Warning Uchiha Fugaku to beware of Danzo had merely been a spur-of-the-moment decision, but what he had said was true: as long as Danzo remained alive, the Uchiha would be in danger.

Danzo claimed that he had received the dying orders of the Second Hokage and was following his command to monitor and deal with the Uchiha—or, to put it another way, Madara’s rebel faction.

That was what he told Sarutobi Hiruzen and the others, and it was also the reason he had established Root. Whether those words were true could no longer be verified, but they were exactly as Gu Sheng had said.

He had turned those so-called dying orders into his political capital, a mission that had to be completed. In the future, the Uchiha would believe his promises too easily and place too much faith in Konoha’s decaying leadership. That was why, after being beaten down like street rats, they had been forced into rebellion.

After leaving the Medical Camp and returning to the Uchiha Clan’s station, Uchiha Fugaku immediately convened a meeting of the clan’s higher-ups. At the same time, similar meetings and discussions were being held among the Hyuga and Senju. Similar arguments ultimately convinced many people.

The high-level meeting three days later became extraordinarily lively.

"Lord Sheng, do you think Lady Tsunade’s reform proposal will pass at today’s high-level meeting?"

Inside the tent, Gu Sheng had already recovered considerably. He was lazily sprawled on the bed, enjoying a carefree life in which clothes were brought to him and meals were fed to him. Mei Daizi carefully tended to him, and as he spoke, she handed a peeled slice of apple to his open mouth.

"Mm~ munch munch~~"

Gu Sheng ate as he spoke. "Of course it will pass. If it still can’t pass with so much support, that big milk cow should think about whether there’s something wrong with her interpersonal relationships."

Gu Sheng’s way of addressing Tsunade made Mei Daizi’s little face flush. She lowered her head and glanced at her own ample assets. Is Lord Sheng hinting at me?

"Whoosh~~"

Just as Gu Sheng was happily eating, the tent flap was suddenly thrown open. Tsunade appeared at the entrance, her clothes fluttering despite the absence of wind. Clearly, she was in a rampaging state.

"What did you just say?"

Tsunade rubbed her fists. Her delicate, fair fists cracked ominously. Those exquisite hands, beautiful enough to be works of art, were nevertheless among the most dangerous things in the world.

"Well, I mean that milk from a family milk cow tastes better. I was asking Miss Mei Daizi to help me inquire about it."

"Is that so?"

Tsunade strode up to Gu Sheng and waved her fist in front of his face. Bursts of Chakra blew his hair straight up.

"Lady Tsunade, I’m injured. Catching a chill wouldn’t be good for me."

Gu Sheng awkwardly reached out and covered Tsunade’s small, fair hand. The feel really was quite nice, but he did not dare touch it for long. After pressing her hand down, he snatched his own hand back as if shocked by electricity.

"Hmph~ I’ll let you off this time. If you make fun of me again, you’re finished."

As she spoke, Tsunade sat down on the edge of the bed, snatched the entire plate of apples beside Gu Sheng, and began eating.

"This… should be~~ yours! Yours!"

Gu Sheng pointed at the apples and opened his mouth, wanting to argue, but when he met the heavily suggestive look in Tsunade’s eyes, he immediately cowered. This woman had once broken Jiraiya’s ribs outright. When she struck, she truly showed no restraint!

"Hmph~"

Tsunade snorted and gave him a look that said he knew his place. After finishing the entire plate of apples, she began taking the other things Mei Daizi had prepared for Gu Sheng. Mei Daizi’s meticulous care of Gu Sheng made her jealous, and she found Gu Sheng even more "annoying."

"Lady Tsunade, you’re busy with countless affairs every day. What brings you to my humble little temple?"

Gu Sheng lay on the sickbed, rubbing his hands and smiling ingratiatingly. He looked utterly timid.

He had no choice but to be timid! Even at the peak of his strength, setting aside Jade Azure Serpent Qing Ling and certain secret techniques, he was simply no match for Tsunade.

Based on Gu Sheng’s estimate, she had at least Fourth Star High Grade combat power, perhaps even close to the Fourth Star Level peak. Her strength was terrifying to the extreme.

"Heh~ Isn’t this Mei Daizi’s place? When did it become yours?"

Tsunade glared at Gu Sheng unhappily. If his answer did not satisfy her, she would let him taste the judgment of Lady Tsunade’s Iron Fist.

"No, no, I just said it wrong!"

Gu Sheng shamefully cowered again, secretly resolving that one day he would make Tsunade kneel on the ground and sing "I Surrender."

"Hmph~ At least you know your place!"

After putting him through a round of torment, Tsunade’s anger had mostly dissipated. Only then did she remember why she had come today. "By the way, I want to ask you something. Is the Uchiha’s support for medical reform related to you?"

"Do you want to hear the truth or a lie?"

Gu Sheng smiled mysteriously and put on an enigmatic air as he reclined against the headboard.

"I want to hear something human!"

Tsunade bent forward and waved her fist in front of Gu Sheng.

"Well, the world is so beautiful, yet you are so beautiful~~ I mean, I’ll talk, I’ll talk, all right?"

Before Gu Sheng could finish his joke, Tsunade was preparing to strike straight at his vitals. He could only shamefully surrender. The whole idea of overwhelming ten techniques with sheer strength was truly annoying.

"It’s just…"

Gu Sheng embellished the method he had used to persuade Fugaku, concealing many details. He merely said that becoming a Medical Ninja would allow them to protect the Uchiha’s young seedlings as much as possible.

"Honestly~ What a coward!"

Tsunade stared at Gu Sheng for a while, then rolled her eyes and muttered unhappily.

"You can’t put it that way. As long as a person is alive, that’s what matters mo—ugh~"

Before Gu Sheng could finish, a heavy, soft bosom enveloped his head. "Regardless, thank you, you little Uchiha brat!"

"Mwah~"

Tsunade kissed Gu Sheng on the forehead, then walked out of the tent.

"She…"

Gu Sheng watched her back, then exchanged glances with Mei Daizi for a while. He felt utterly bewildered.
