Akatsuki Organization Launches a Full-Scale Assault (Second Update)
With his current strength, if he went all out, he truly had nothing to fear unless he faced someone on the level of the Sage of Six Paths.
With his powerful body, terrifying recovery ability, and the ninjutsu, magic, Daoist magic, and magical treasures he had mastered, even if Uchiha Madara and Hashirama Senju were revived, he would still have a high chance of winning.
There were two reasons he did not want to take the path of conquest through force.
First, he was not truly such a cold-blooded and heartless person.
In this world’s terms, he had formed certain bonds with some of its people. Unless absolutely necessary, he did not want to become a great villain besieged by everyone.
Second, his strength had not yet reached the point where he could truly disregard everything.
There was the Otsutsuki Clan in outer space, various hidden gods in this world, and even the Sage of Six Paths was not truly dead.
So if possible, it was better not to get too reckless. If he capsized because of it, it would be far too costly.
There was no life-or-death crisis right now. If he could take it all down more safely and steadily, that would naturally be better.
"Next, the Third will probably want to have a talk with me."
After leaving the notice board, Li Chuan thought to himself.
Since Danzo had put his name on the list of Hokage candidates, it was difficult for the Third not to grow suspicious of him. And since he went to seek guidance on ninjutsu every few days, a conversation was unavoidable.
However, what surprised Li Chuan was that during the period that followed, the Third continued guiding his ninjutsu training as usual. He did not ask a single question related to Li Chuan and Danzo, nor did he even probe him.
After thinking about it later, Li Chuan realized that perhaps the Third did not care all that much.
Perhaps the Third believed Li Chuan could never become Hokage, so even if he had dealings with Danzo, it was not important.
After all, Danzo was still from Konoha, not an enemy. He merely differed from the Third in political views and had always coveted the position of Hokage.
In fact, the Third also needed Danzo and the existence of Root to handle matters he could not deal with himself, to carry out missions that could not see the light of day, such as the Uchiha rebellion back then.
Although Danzo always liked to scheme behind the Third’s back, he had indeed handled many matters for the village that the Third could not openly act on.
Otherwise, the Third would never have allowed Danzo to develop and expand Root merely because of their friendship from years ago.
Even the future Fifth would need Danzo as well.
Therefore, even if Li Chuan had truly reached some secret deal with Danzo, it was no big deal as long as it did not harm the village.
The Shimura Clan, which had always staunchly supported Danzo, and the Aburame Clan, which leaned toward Danzo, had always been treated fairly by the Third. He had never targeted them.
Rather than question Li Chuan and make everyone unhappy, it was better to simply pretend the matter did not exist and continue as usual.
No matter what Danzo wanted to do, as long as the Third remained firmly in control, nothing would change.
The reason the Third had sat in the position of Hokage for so many years without being replaced by Danzo was because he was steady enough.
One month after Li Chuan entered the Naruto World, inside the Akatsuki Organization’s base at Nine-Eyed Cemetery in the Land of Rain.
Animal Path Pain, Uchiha Itachi, Kisame Hoshigaki, Sasori, Deidara, and Tobi sat cross-legged atop the fingers of the statue, their eyes closed as they rested.
Unlike usual, when most of those who came were phantoms, everyone present this time was here in person.
Originally, they had been carrying out the leader Pain’s orders in various countries, intensifying conflicts among small nations to trigger limited wars and profit from them.
Then Tobi, who possessed space-time abilities, suddenly appeared and notified them all to return to the base and gather.
After everyone hurried back and gradually assembled at the base, Pain appeared and announced the shocking news that Kakuzu had been killed at the Fire Temple, and that Akatsuki would soon gather all its strength to wipe out Konoha, the greatest ninja village, in one stroke.
Other than Itachi, every Akatsuki member unanimously approved of the decision and appeared brimming with confidence.
Kisame wanted revenge for the grievous injuries Yuan Chuan had inflicted on him. Sasori and Deidara, the two artistic masters, both wanted to use Konoha, the strongest ninja village, to display their artistic ideals.
Itachi wanted to secretly relay the news to the Third and Li Chuan, but with Pain watching over the base, he did not dare make any unusual move.
A moment later, Zetsu, with a pitcher-plant head, slowly emerged from the ground:
"Based on the current intelligence, it can be confirmed that Jiraiya, one of the Three Ninja, took the Nine-Tails brat and left Konoha several days ago.
"Because of the joint assault by Orochimaru and the Sand ninja, many of Konoha’s buildings were damaged. In order to gather enough funds for repairs, Konoha is currently experiencing a high demand for missions, and a large number of ninja have left the village to carry them out."
Animal Path Pain opened his Rinnegan and pressed both hands downward, instantly summoning Deva Path Pain, Preta Path Pain, Human Path Pain, Naraka Path, and Asura Path Pain.
"Move out. Our target is Konoha. This mission is to kill everyone in Konoha, raze Konoha completely to the ground, and let the world begin to experience pain!"
Deva Path Pain opened the stone gate of the base, which had been sealed by ninjutsu, and led all the Akatsuki members sprinting toward Konoha.
Although he had great confidence in himself and the Akatsuki members’ strength, Konoha was, after all, the strongest ninja village in the ninja world. During the previous ninja wars, it had sometimes held the advantage even while fighting one against two or three.
Therefore, Nagato had not mindlessly led every Akatsuki member straight into battle. Instead, he had sent Zetsu, an intelligence expert, to scout ahead and choose a time when Konoha was at its weakest.
He wanted to erase Konoha from this world without suffering a single casualty on his side.
The Land of Rain lay at the border of the three great nations of the Land of Earth, the Land of Fire, and the Land of Wind. Thus, starting from the Land of Rain, it would take the Akatsuki members only one or two hours at full speed to reach Konoha.
Not long after Deva Path Pain led the Akatsuki members away from Nine-Eyed Cemetery, Konan fluttered the white wings on her back and followed, guarding the gaunt Nagato.
Nagato used the special black rods Madara had set up to control the Six Paths of Pain, but the distance could not be too great, or he would be unable to control them precisely.
Konan did not participate in the plan to destroy Konoha. Her responsibility was to protect Nagato’s weakened true body. As long as nothing happened to Nagato’s body, the Six Paths of Pain would not lose.
As long as Naraka Path was not destroyed, even if the other five paths were all killed, Naraka Path could revive them. They could not be killed off completely, so how could they possibly lose?
An hour and a half later, in the forest outside Konoha, Deva Path Pain looked at the sensory barrier surrounding Konoha ahead and gave his order:
"Invade from the front. We will crush all of Konoha head-on!"
In Nagato’s view, the Six Paths of Pain and every member of Akatsuki were absolutely stronger than Konoha as it stood now. There was no need for schemes or tricks; they only needed to push through from the main gate to the end.
