Allen Rescues Uxas

Apokolips.

A cosmic civilization independent of the Three Great Cosmic Empires.

Its social system worshipped strength above all else, resulting in high-pressure rule both internally and externally.

Apokolips had native inhabitants, but over ninety percent of them belonged to the lowest rung of society.

Their long-term living environment had even warped their values.

Uxas, who sought to set Apokolips back on the right path, was regarded by ordinary citizens as a traitor to Apokolips.

The new ruler, Drax, was instead widely adored.

The raggedly dressed citizens raised their arms and cheered at the sight of their new ruler.

Uxas, bound to the execution rack, received nothing but endless scorn.

"People of Apokolips, I shall publicly execute the traitor Uxas and transform him into a Parademon, so that he may atone by fighting for Apokolips," Drax declared majestically.

At once, the crowd erupted into fervent cheers, as though they had finally received the outcome they had long awaited.

Uxas seemed to have expected this. Faced with the scene before him, his face had already turned ashen.

These were the ignorant, foolish citizens he had wanted to save. They were practically a pack of uncivilized savages.

His gaze swept across the tribunal. The allies who had once shared his aspirations were nowhere to be seen; they had most likely been purged.

Perhaps there were still potential allies hiding in the shadows, concealing their identities and remaining undercover.

Unfortunately, without someone who had inherited the ruler’s position to lead them, it would be difficult to carry out reforms successfully.

Thus, those potential allies might have to wait until Drax had descendants, hoping that one royal family member would possess compassion.

"Uxas, before your execution, do you have anything to say?"

With a cruel smile, Drax reminded him, "This is your last chance to speak."

Once transformed into a Parademon, he would no longer possess normal human emotions. Even his most basic ability to speak would be erased.

"The victor is king, the loser is a bandit. I have nothing to say."

Uxas calmly accepted the arrangement of fate.

He raised his head toward Apokolips’s dark, oppressive sky, which was filled with countless Parademons.

That extremely rare streak of color looked especially abrupt and dazzling, like the only striking light in the world.

Hm!

Color?

Uxas’s eyes widened. He could not understand why there was a streak of color in Apokolips’s sky.

Beep-beep! Beep-beep! Beep-beep…

As the colorful light drew closer from afar, it was accompanied by a shrill, irritating horn.

A young man could be seen piloting a rainbow-colored flying vehicle, with seven beautiful women of different colors seated in the back.

Hiss…

"Allen!?"

Uxas sucked in a sharp breath.

Allen, whom he had not seen in a long time, had actually descended upon Apokolips. He must have had another episode—he had actually come here to die.

"Uncle Da, I’m here to save you."

Rainbow Will charged straight toward the execution platform.

"Stop him!"

Drax immediately gave the order.

As long as Uxas remained alive, he could not rest easy upon the ruler’s throne. He was always afraid that one day Uxas would drive him from his throne.

"Begin the transformation procedure immediately."

At the same time, he hurriedly urged them to commence the execution.

Having received the order, the executioner pulled the device’s gate lever with one hand.

Yet the scene they had expected did not occur. The mechanical arm that should have emitted the transformation beam showed no reaction at all.

"Your Majesty, the transformation device has malfunctioned!"

A malfunction?

How could it malfunction!

Since the Parademon transformation device had been put into use, it had never malfunctioned. Clearly, someone had tampered with it in secret.

Drax swept his gaze over the gathered ministers on the viewing platform, certain that there were remnants among them who still supported Uxas.

For a moment, the ministers all felt a chill run through their hearts.

They suddenly realized that disaster was imminent.

Given Drax’s brutal nature, he had no patience to investigate who was friend or foe. He would simply purge them all and replace them with new officials.

At that moment, countless Parademons flooded toward Allen like a dark tide, attempting to prevent him from approaching the execution platform.

However, Rainbow Will barreled forward recklessly, smashing every Parademon in its path into dismembered pieces.

...

Boom!

The Ghostfire slammed into the execution platform like a meteor.

Drax reacted swiftly, instantly pulling back in retreat. At some point, a spear had appeared in his hand.

"You death-seeking thing, I’ll kill you."

Seeing Allen land on the execution platform, Drax charged at him in fury.

He no longer cared about the execution process. His only thought was to personally deal with Uxas and this meddler who had appeared out of nowhere.

"Cousins, protect your cousin-in-law."

"Okay, cousin-in-law!"

The next moment, five cousins—Blood Lantern, Gold Lantern, Crimson Lantern, Silver Lantern, and Gray Lantern—resolutely engaged Drax, displaying their respective powers.

Green Lantern conjured a pair of pliers and helped Uxas loosen his restraints.

Meanwhile, Pink Lantern faced the countless Parademons alone.

She traced a pink heart in the air with both hands, then blew a playful kiss with her right hand.

The pink heart rapidly expanded toward the Parademon army.

Pink streams of light swept across the enemies’ bodies. They immediately stopped charging, pink heart symbols flashing in their eyes. Their formerly vicious expressions turned into lovestruck grins.

"Big brothers, I’m scared. Could you protect me?" Pink Lantern pleaded coquettishly.

Part of the Parademon army that had fallen under her charm immediately turned around to fight their own forces, willing to give their lives to protect Pink Lantern.

Yah!

Uh…

Allen delivered a flying kick that sent Pink Lantern straight off the execution platform. Extremely jealous, he said, "Cousin, you’re not allowed to act cute around any man other than your cousin-in-law, or I’ll get jealous."

Having regained his freedom, Uxas stared blankly at Allen, who would even kick his own people when he got ruthless, and thought, That’s the captain all right.

Pink Lantern climbed back onto the execution platform, her face full of flattery. "Cousin-in-law, you’re the only one in my heart."

Hmph!

Allen haughtily turned his head away and declared with conviction, "Give up your unrealistic fantasies. My delicate body and soul belong to Little Right."

"Little Right is just your right hand. Please wake up," Pink Lantern bluntly exposed his delusion.

"I’m very awake."

Allen raised his right hand and said frankly and sincerely, "I just like my right hand. You’re only an energy body I imagined into existence; you don’t have any self-awareness at all. It’s all just my delusion."

"You knew all along?" Pink Lantern asked in shock.

"It’s just that stupid author’s daily filler."

Allen sighed helplessly. "I was only playing along."

"…"

So he had been directing and acting out the whole thing by himself.

Like an outsider, Uxas stared dumbfoundedly at Allen’s one-man performance, even forgetting that he was on a battlefield fraught with danger.

"Let me tell you something!"

Allen sneakily leaned toward Pink Lantern’s ear and whispered, "Actually, I’m not sick at all. I pretended to be mentally ill and stayed in a psychiatric hospital so I could start retirement early. Aren’t I smart?"

"Cousin-in-law, I’m going to support the sisters. We’ll talk later."

And as all seven cousins joined the battle, Drax’s disadvantage only grew worse.
