Ancient One Slaps the God King’s Soul, Master Ye Supports Hela
"Bifrost!"
Looking at the pillar of light shooting into the sky near the distant sea, Hela immediately recognized it as the Bifrost from Asgard. Only the Bifrost could travel freely through the Nine Realms and even the entire Universe.
Without Odin’s approval, the Bifrost could not be activated. The consequences of starting it privately were extremely serious.
"Master, it seems I’ve caused you a lot of trouble," Hela said.
This had originally had nothing to do with Earth. But because of her, Odin had set his sights on Earth. No matter what, this was a conflict that would be difficult to reconcile.
Ye Wen withdrew his super vision and said, "Hela, you are my disciple. How can this be called trouble? Don’t worry. No matter what happens, your master will stand behind you and support you."
"But Odin is the King of Asgard and the ruler of the Nine Realms. He won’t be easy to deal with," Hela said.
She knew Ye Wen was no ordinary man, but he was still a human from Earth. There was likely still an enormous gap between him and Odin, the God King.
After all, one stood in the Universe, while the other had yet to enter space.
"I know." Ye Wen smiled faintly, still as gentle as when they had first met. He showed no panic at all, giving others an incredibly strong sense of security.
"Roar, roar." Kong pounded his chest. He understood Hela’s situation and was willing to help her, to stand by her side.
"Haa." Hela sighed helplessly.
"Let’s go. Let’s meet your father," Ye Wen said.
"Alright." Hela nodded.
Although Odin had arrived on Earth Star, he had descended in an uninhabited stretch of sea, so ordinary humans had not been affected.
He also knew that once he activated the Bifrost, both Hela and Ye Wen would be able to sense it.
Therefore, there was no need to make too much of a commotion. It would be best if the matter could be settled privately.
At the same time, near the Himalayas, within Kamar-Taj, inside an ancient temple.
It was said to be the place where the Supreme Mage cultivated. After sensing Odin’s power arriving on Earth Star—
A bald woman seated on a yellow meditation cushion suddenly opened her eyes. She wore an apricot-yellow mage’s robe. Her features were delicate, but the vicissitudes and wisdom in her eyes proved that she was an old relic who had lived for a very long time.
"Odin of Asgard has come? What is going on?"
The bald woman was Ancient One, the Supreme Mage of this era. A sage, a Mystic Arts Master who fought supernatural evil forces alone. Any extraterrestrial power that came here would be sensed by her.
As Earth’s guardian, Ancient One felt it necessary to know why Odin had come.
Although this place was one of the Nine Realms, Odin had never truly conquered it. Earth’s waters ran far deeper than those of the other Nine Realms. Earth was only nominally one of the Nine Realms Asgard claimed.
If it had been another planet among the Nine Realms, wherever the Asgardian army passed, blood would flow like rivers. They achieved unity through violence and slaughter.
With this thought, Ancient One raised her right hand and drew a golden circle in the air. The ancient ring on her middle finger flickered faintly, and a portal opened. On the other side was the region where Odin stood.
The Sling Ring was standard equipment for Kamar-Taj mages. It could open portals to any location, even portals through the multiverse to other universes.
However, for the stability of the timeline, the Supreme Mage would not interfere with the development of other universes.
On the other side, Odin had only just descended when he saw a golden portal appear before him. Ancient One stepped out from within.
Looking at the woman before him, Odin keenly sensed a trace of danger and could not help saying, "Earth actually has such an unfathomable sorcerer?"
"Sorcerers have always existed, but I prefer the title Mystic Arts Master. King Odin of Asgard, what brings you to Earth at this time?" Ancient One asked with a smile.
"That seems to have nothing to do with you, sorcerer," Odin said.
"King Odin, I am the Supreme Mage. My duty is to protect Earth from being eroded by powers beyond Earth," Ancient One said.
"Hmph. Sorcerer, do you know who you are facing?"
Odin wore an arrogant expression as he raised his Eternal Spear high. Dark clouds immediately filled the sky, while lightning flashed and thunder roared. Such terrifying celestial phenomena made mortals feel as though a massive stone had been pressed onto their hearts.
"King Odin, have you heard that there are always greater people beyond people, and greater heavens beyond heaven? If you insist on fighting me, I happen to know a little martial arts."
As she spoke, Ancient One swept her arms, and the magic in her hands condensed into circular blade discs.
"Hahaha, sorcerer! Do you intend to fight this king in close combat?" Odin could not help saying, as if he had witnessed something absurdly amusing.
As a sorcerer, she should naturally use magic. Why did she want to engage in close-quarters combat? Wasn’t that ridiculous? As the King of Asgard, he had conquered the Nine Realms. Whether in magic or martial skill, he had mastered both to perfection.
A sorcerer wanted to challenge him? How laughable.
The next second, Odin urged on the golden celestial horse beneath him and thrust the Eternal Spear toward Ancient One.
The Eternal Spear was an Asgardian divine artifact of immense power. With sufficient magical reinforcement, it could easily destroy stars and tear apart the Void. Any enemy targeted by the Eternal Spear would ultimately be hunted down and killed by it.
Ancient One nimbly dodged, then teleported to Odin’s side and struck his chest with her palm.
Truthfully, in Odin’s eyes, the fist of a sorcerer was as soft as cotton. There was no need to defend against it. Besides, he wore Asgardian armor, so ordinary attacks could not possibly break through his defenses.
Yet in the next second, when Ancient One’s palm struck Odin’s chest, the power of the Supreme Mage erupted. A mysterious force tore Odin’s soul out of his body. The naked eye could see Odin’s soul fly out, his face filled with astonishment.
"How is this possible?"
Odin’s disembodied soul wore an incredulous expression.
"It is merely a little trick." Ancient One stood with her hands behind her back, looking inscrutable.
Odin was shocked, but he quickly chanted an Asgardian spell. Golden light spilled from the surface of his body, and in an instant, the soul that had left his body returned to it.
Ancient One was not surprised by this. Odin himself was a god with extremely profound attainments in magic. Dealing with such a situation was very simple for him.
Odin opened his eyes, and the way he looked at Ancient One had changed considerably. At the very least, he no longer held the same arrogance as before. "It is good that Earth has someone like you guarding it."
"This is my duty, King Odin. I hope the people of Asgard can leave this place and not disrupt the normal lives here," Ancient One said.
"I will. However, I still have some private matters to handle. Of course, no harm will come to Earth," Odin explained.
"Fine." Ancient One nodded, but did not leave.
Seeing this, Odin’s expression darkened, though he said nothing.
How could he not have wanted to take Earth for himself? But there were too many extraordinary beings on Earth. If he started a monstrous slaughter here, some special existence might very well come all the way to Asgard and make it impossible for them to live in peace.
Thus, to this day, Asgard had only left behind myths about itself on Earth, spreading faith.
For the gods of Asgard, faith was also part of their power.
As long as people on Earth believed in them, their power would gradually increase without anyone noticing.
Naturally, Odin the God King absorbed most of that faith, though not all of his power came from faith.
In addition to being the God King, he also bore the title of God of War. As long as wars erupted on Earth Star, he could draw some power from them to strengthen himself.
The reason Asgard could strengthen its gods was also because this land gathered a vast amount of faith power belonging to the Asgardian gods. Furthermore, the gods of past generations slumbered here, providing it with sufficient magical Origin and divine Origin.
Before long, Ye Wen flew over with his three disciples.
Hela, having awakened Light Divine Power, could already fly, but she was not as fast as her master Ye Wen.
When Ye Wen arrived, Ancient One stared at him in surprise. She could not see through him, nor could she see his fate. It was the first time she had encountered such a situation.
Even with Odin, Ancient One’s magical talent allowed her to glimpse a corner of Asgard’s fate. Yet it failed completely when it came to Master Ye.
"Master Ancient One?" Ye Wen said in surprise.
He had not expected to encounter an old acquaintance the moment he landed. Wasn’t this the Supreme Mage who had appeared in Tony’s world before? Because of the Ultron Crisis, Master Ancient One had appeared to deal with Six Infinity Stones Ultron.
Ye Wen and the group members had also gone to Tony’s world to provide support. As a result, he had obtained an Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity Stones that could be used across different universes.
"You know me, sir?" Ancient One asked in surprise.
But she quickly realized something and added, "No, the person you know should not be me, but another version of me from another universe."
To Master Ancient One, the multiverse was no secret.
"Yes, it really was you from another universe. You almost…" Ye Wen smiled, instinctively about to reveal a spoiler.
Master Ancient One’s expression immediately changed drastically. She cut him off and said, "Do not speak of matters from another world, sir. For the stability of the timeline."
"Alright." Ye Wen immediately understood.
Odin had initially assumed Ye Wen was merely a mortal with some power. He had not expected him to know Ancient One, much less another Ancient One from another universe. That was simply outrageous.
Anything related to the multiverse was basically the domain of top-tier beings.
Odin himself was not even multiversal, much less capable of peering into beings from another universe.
For a moment, Ye Wen’s standing in Odin’s heart rose sharply.
After all, someone who could sit in Odin’s position could not possibly be a reckless brute who only knew how to fight, nor could such a person become a king revered by countless people.
"My name is Ye Wen. Greetings, King Odin." Ye Wen cupped his fists and smiled.
Seeing this, Odin dismounted from the golden celestial horse, planted the Eternal Spear into the ground, and cupped his fists in return. "Greetings, extraordinary one of Midgard. It is my honor to meet you."
"??" Hela stared at Odin’s unexpectedly approachable behavior in disbelief.
Where had his arrogance gone? His conceit? His contempt for everyone and his domineering manner?
The Asgardian soldiers behind him wore strange expressions, unable to understand why the menacing Odin had suddenly become so mild.
Back at Asgard Palace, he had said that Earth could not be allowed to have someone so formidable.
Yet after arriving here, his attitude had made a complete one-hundred-eighty-degree turn.
Ancient One nodded faintly. As long as they did not fight, it was fine. If someone at Odin’s level went all out, even ten Earth Stars would not be enough to withstand the destruction. For the Solar System, it would be a disaster.
Chat Group.
Qian Renxue: "Is this Odin chickening out? I’m not seeing things, am I?"
Ye Hei: "Not necessarily. He is still a God King, after all."
Bad Commander: "This is the respect one should show a strong person."
Sword God Li Chungang: "Agreed."
Iron Man: "Nothing wrong with that. But I didn’t expect Master Ancient One to show up. It looks like Master Ye’s universe really might be one of the parallel timelines of our universe."
If Asgard’s appearance had been a coincidence before, then Ancient One appearing as well was not.
Ye Wen: "I didn’t expect Master Ancient One to appear either."
Xu Yi: "Interesting. It would not be strange if some immortals appeared later."
Ye Hei: "Group Owner, since you’ve said that, immortals will definitely appear later. We’ve all seen your Word Manifestation."
Qian Renxue: "That does seem right. Hiss, terrifying!"
Sect Leader Yun Yun: "Terrifying!"
Xu Yi: "Then I retract it!"
Morax: "Group Owner, it is already too late to retract it."
Saintess Li Susu: "The worlds of the group members really are interesting."
Bi Cang Wang: "Of course!"
Hui Tai Lang: "Mm, the mutton tastes different in every world. The mutton in Tony’s world is not tasty. It feels like it is all technological additives. It is not fresh, definitely not sheep raised on grass."
Iron Man: "Uh… you’re right about that. It is all assembly-line mutton, Hui Tai Lang. There is very little that is truly natural."
Hui Tai Lang: "…"
Back with Ye Wen, after exchanging pleasantries with Odin, it was time to get to the point.
"Odin, what have you come to Earth for?" Ye Wen asked.
At those words, Odin looked at Hela. His mild gaze instantly turned stern and intensely oppressive. "Thank you, Master Ye, for taking care of my daughter Hela during this time. However, this child is arrogant and unruly, with an extremely strong killing intent. If she stays here too long, I fear she may cause harm to Earth, so I wish to bring her back to Asgard."
Ye Wen fell silent, and his smile gradually faded.
Hela had a fiery temper. Hearing Odin speak of her like this, she immediately snapped back, "Odin, I have strong killing intent? I am arrogant and unruly? Then who was everything I did for? Wasn’t it so Asgard could rule the Nine Realms?"
"One who knows only slaughter and not mercy is unworthy of becoming a qualified god," Odin said.
"Old fool, don’t preach those grand principles to me. You have probably forgotten that I was not the one who wanted the Nine Realms. It was you. You were the one who raised me into an executioner. Have you forgotten?
"Now you are praised by the people of Asgard, while I have become the hated Goddess of Death, ruler of the Netherworld.
"You altered history. You are the filthiest one of all.
"In Earth’s words, you discarded me once I had served my purpose, killed the dog once the rabbits were gone, and hid the bow once all the birds had been shot!"
Hela unleashed a furious tirade, her face filled with anger and grievance.
"Uh…" Master Ancient One fell silent, unsure whether she should leave or stay and watch the drama.
Odin was furious, but with Ye Wen and Ancient One, two supreme beings, present, he tried hard to restrain himself. "Heh, heh. I raised you into an executioner, yes, that is true! But I never told you to massacre the Nine Realms and let blood flow like rivers.
"Admit it, Hela. The bloodthirst in your soul is your true nature. You have committed sins too great to be forgiven.
"I made you reflect, yet you remain unrepentant."
Hela laughed in extreme anger. "So, Odin, you opened the Gate of Hell, and the evil ghosts inside came out to plague the world, but that has nothing to do with you?
"If an executioner does not kill, what is the meaning of their existence?"
"Shut up!"
"Hela, return with me. Go back to the Netherworld and reflect properly," Odin roared.
"Shut up, Odin. Oh, look at you. You truly are the worst kind of father," Hela cursed.
