Annihilating Strike

The rising dust surged like a mad dragon. Amid the debris and dust whirling through the sky, the octopus-like ghoul lunged out, its scarlet eyes flashing brightly. Its hands clamped around the Tyrant zombie’s neck, while its feet stomped down on the creature’s chest.

Compared to the Tyrant zombie’s massive frame, Kanoe Bo appeared rather "small." Six enormous scale-covered tentacles abruptly expanded, wrapping tightly around its prey like an octopus hunting for food!

"By devouring you… I can complete the Progenitor Virus’s genetic fragments… Maybe that will make me stronger!"

Kanoe Bo laughed wildly. The shattered bones protruding from his chest rapidly healed, while his six enormous tentacles sprouted sharp barbs and sliced through the Tyrant zombie’s hulking body at high speed.

Grayish-white flesh splattered everywhere. The inhuman ghoul opened his mouth wide, saliva dripping down from his teeth. His two eyeballs bulged outward, bloodshot veins filling them.

"Eat you!"

Having restrained the Tyrant zombie, Kanoe Bo viciously bit into its cheek, tearing off a chunk of flesh and chewing and swallowing it madly!

He had previously studied the Progenitor Virus and even participated in its core experiments, so he knew enough about zombies.

Most zombies possessed rotting bodies and extreme hunger. Then, large amounts of necrotic tissue appeared throughout the human body, the immune system nearly collapsed, and the virus rapidly spread through the entire body until it completely consumed the host.

Humans infected by the virus and transformed into zombies were called "the living dead." They gradually lost their vision and relied more on combined senses such as hearing and smell to hunt. Once their brains became infected, they also lost their ability to think and their emotional awareness.

The reason ghouls retained clear thinking was that, during the mutation process, their brains were protected by the tissue isolation of the blood-brain barrier and did not suffer severe erosion from the viral substance.

To truly kill a zombie, severing its limbs or inflicting other fatal wounds was far less effective. Only the brain was their weakness.

Grayish-white rotten flesh ground between his teeth before shattering. Kanoe Bo’s face was filled with warped excitement. He wanted to gnaw off that head—to obtain a more complete Progenitor Virus from the Tyrant zombie and make himself even stronger!

The Tyrant zombie swung its bony claws in frantic horizontal slashes, but the powerful, sharp tentacles were wrapped around both its arms, firmly restricting its movements. Even its terrifying brute strength could not break free for the moment.

The ghoul gnawed at the Tyrant zombie’s skull, swallowing the nutrientless grayish-white flesh and exposing the vascular tissue beneath the skin.

Greedy saliva dripped from between his two rows of bared teeth. Kanoe Bo cradled the Tyrant zombie’s head in both hands and, with a sinister cackle, bit down directly!

The horrifying sound of tearing flesh echoed clearly. Even Viper, controlling things remotely, shuddered in alarm, a sudden urge to vomit rising within her.

Compared to cruel, cold-blooded biological weapons, creatures like ghouls, who retained not a shred of humanity, were the true monsters!

They wore human skin, yet possessed the hunting instincts of beasts. They regarded every living thing capable of filling their stomachs as food and a source of nutrients.

"Should we mobilize the Japanese Self-Defense Forces?" one of her subordinates asked.

Even the Tyrant zombie had been unable to deal with this ghoul and had instead been devoured by it. If such a monster were allowed to spread, it would likely bring about unimaginable consequences.

Kanoe Bo was no ordinary test subject. After transforming into a ghoul, he first deceived the researchers through disguise, then secretly plotted his escape from the laboratory. He possessed formidable execution ability and meticulous thinking.

After escaping the laboratory, the ghoul used his own flesh to perform semi-modification surgeries on humans, improving the quality of his "food" in order to evolve more efficiently.

Judging from this series of actions, Kanoe Bo was undoubtedly extremely dangerous. Now that the Tyrant zombie’s attempt to eliminate him had failed, only by using Hydra’s influence at the highest levels to mobilize the Japanese Self-Defense Forces for carpet-bombing could they completely destroy this inhuman monster.

"Too late."

Viper shook her head. The Japanese Self-Defense Forces’ supreme commander was the Prime Minister, their highest military decision-making body was the Cabinet, and beneath that was the Ministry of Defense. Mobilizing air power for an attack would certainly require complex procedures.

Even with Hydra’s immense influence, bypassing all verification procedures and directly ordering the bombing of Tokyo’s bustling streets would be extremely difficult.

"The situation is out of control. Activate the Level Three alert plan."

Viper’s gaze was cold. She intended to request the deployment of Hydra’s special operations unit. The Tyrant zombie possessed tremendous strength and powerful recovery abilities, but its combat methods and thinking ability could not compare to a ghoul’s, which was why this failure had occurred.

However, the special operations unit composed of Hydra elites was a specialized department used to recover or eliminate experimental accidents. They had handled many similar incidents before, with astonishing results.

"Also, intensify the search for Wolverine."

Viper was furious. Her originally meticulous plans had all been thrown into disarray. Logan, who possessed the Healing Factor, was nowhere to be found, filling Ichiro Yashida with rage. The ghoul’s evolution speed had also exceeded her expectations. If the situation continued to develop unchecked, it would likely attract S.H.I.E.L.D.’s attention soon. Then they would face another full-scale blow.

On a Tokyo street, the mountain-like Tyrant zombie crashed to the ground. Its head, like an enormous fruit, had been gnawed clean by the ghoul. Murky liquid splashed across his lips and teeth, making him look like a man-eating demon from hell.

"This feeling… the feeling of power—how wonderful!"

Kanoe Bo closed his eyes and savored the exhilaration surging through his body. The mutated cells stored within his sac-like organs became increasingly active. He could clearly feel abundant power flowing slowly through him like blood.

"I want more… To become that perfect kind of creature." The ghoul murmured softly, a beastly glow flickering in his scarlet eyes. "Right, the laboratory! There’s more food there!"

"Go back to the place that created me and eat them all… Hahaha!"

His delighted laughter abruptly stopped. Kanoe Bo rolled his eyes as an unprecedented sense of danger swept over him, as though death were pressed against his cheek, exhaling icy breath.

He looked up and saw a point of golden light glittering like a meteor plummeting at breakneck speed!

The atmosphere gave a violent wail. Wind and air currents merged into one, like countless demons crying and shrieking.

The ghoul’s body, covered in proliferating flesh, began trembling uncontrollably. For the first time, such profound terror appeared on his twisted face.

It was as though he had encountered a predator at the top of the food chain. The monstrous ghoul trembled violently, but in the end, Kanoe Bo’s desire to survive suppressed his instincts, and he fled madly!

He crossed the long street and passed through buildings, squeezing out every last drop of potential within his body. The ghoul fled in panic, his beast-like instincts telling him that if he did not run, he would surely die!

The golden meteor was like a sharp awl, drilling directly through the ground’s hard rock layers. Airwaves rolled outward like tides, spreading wave after wave. Amid the tremendous boom, all sound seemed to fade away, and the world suddenly fell silent.

Cars parked on the road melted into wisps of smoke. Thick layers of rock condensed into crystalline particles. Scorching heat filled the deserted street as a shockwave powerful enough to tear apart everything surged skyward!

Terrified beyond measure, Kanoe Bo scrambled forward on all fours, using his six enormous tentacles as tools for escape. In less than ten seconds, he was about to rush out of the empty street.

A thunderclap-like boom erupted through the air. Intense wind pressure swept past like a blade, and in an instant, the desperately fleeing ghoul was cut in two and collapsed to the ground!

The six tentacles writhed like living creatures. Proliferating flesh rapidly healed his fatal wounds as Kanoe Bo dug both hands into the concrete and slowly dragged himself forward—he did not want to die.

Utter despair filled his heart. He rolled onto his back and vaguely glimpsed a tall figure, those indifferent eyes devoid of any emotion.

As though crushing an ant.

The ghoul’s body instantly tore apart and disintegrated. The highly active mutated cells evaporated under the heat, and the monster, along with the entire street, turned to dust amid a continuous chain of explosions.

P.S. The last day of the month—totally panicking~
