Astral Projection

"Can you confirm her identity?"

Seeing Moon Knight’s gaze, Zhang Ye stepped forward a few paces and slowly spoke.

"When I was with the Avengers, I think I saw her file on S.H.I.E.L.D.’s roster. But I can’t be sure. After all, it had been a while since I left the Avengers, and this girl had changed a lot," Moon Knight said after stroking his chin and thinking for a moment.

"She was one of the alien races recorded by S.H.I.E.L.D. I remembered her clearly because her parents had done quite a few terrible things in their early years, though they later turned over a new leaf. As for the girl’s name, I think it was Karolina Dean."

"So it was her." As Zhang Ye listened to Moon Knight’s description, the name of a teenage group from the Marvel Universe suddenly surfaced in his mind—the Runaways.

The Runaways, also known as the Runaway League, were a team made up of teenage superheroes from different backgrounds. These children came from vastly different families, and none of their parents were ordinary. Among them were mutants, aliens, people from the future, Black Wizards, and other races beyond ordinary humans.

At the same time, their parents were all villains who had secretly banded together, worshipping a deity known as the Six-Fingered Troll. According to the requirements of their rituals, they offered living beings to the troll as sacrifices.

It was precisely because of this that the teenagers, who had accidentally discovered their parents’ identities as villains, ran away from home. They united and formed an organization called the Runaways to fight their common enemies—their own parents.

And this Karolina was one of them. Her entire family were aliens hiding on Earth. When she was young, her parents concealed that truth and made her wear a bracelet that suppressed her alien genes, allowing her to live like an Earthling for more than a decade.

Only after discovering her true identity did she begin accepting and training her alien superpowers. Whenever her alien genes were activated, Karolina’s entire body emitted rainbow-colored light, which she could use to attack her opponents.

Karolina had also mastered the ability to fly, and her body had become far tougher as well. Though she could not compare to Kara, she was much stronger than an ordinary person.

"It sounds like you know her quite well?" Noticing something off in Zhang Ye’s tone, Moon Knight casually asked.

"Not especially well, but I know some things about her. For example, she and several other villains’ children formed a small group and secretly resisted their parents together. Perhaps they were not as famous as you, but they made no small contribution."

At that, Zhang Ye gently shook his head. "Unfortunately, judging from her injuries, I believe her teammates have already died at Deadpool’s hands."

"They were children, after all. Besides, we can’t determine Deadpool’s current state. If the Cognitive Contamination spread from Deadpool, then anyone who faced him would be in extreme danger." As Moon Knight spoke, he placed his hand on Karolina’s forehead.

A pure milky-white glow emerged from Moon Knight’s hand and rapidly flowed into Karolina’s body. Gradually, faint fluorescence also began to emerge from Karolina’s body—the rainbow-colored radiance belonging to her alien genes.

"It worked." Seeing the glow seep out through the gaps in the bandages, Zhang Ye’s eyes lit up. Divine power truly was an all-purpose energy. Zhang Ye could also heal Karolina with magic, but without the corresponding spell, the chances of an accident were far too high.

In that respect alone, divine power was truly much stronger than ordinary magical power.

"It’s not that simple. She has lost too much blood. I’m merely using divine power to convert my blood into hers and replenish it. But my ability is limited. I can barely preserve her life, but I can’t guarantee whether she’ll wake up."

Moon Knight withdrew his hand and breathed lightly. Clearly, he was not in good condition either. After breaking free of some of the contamination, Moon Knight discovered that, at some point, his connection to Khonshu’s source of divine power had been severed. With no way to replenish it, the divine power in his body would only diminish the more he used it.

It had to be known that this generation’s Moon Knight had been revived by Khonshu using immense divine power. In other words, without Khonshu’s divine power sustaining him, Marc was nothing more than a dead man. The only reason he could exist alive in this world was because Khonshu supported him.

And when the last trace of divine power in his body was exhausted, that would be the moment of his death.

"That’s enough. You’ve worked hard. Leave the rest to me." Zhang Ye spoke calmly, then walked over to Karolina’s side and extended his hands.

"What are you trying to do?" Moon Knight asked curiously.

"I’m going to enter her mind. She faced Deadpool directly and was nearly killed by him. If Deadpool truly is the source of the contamination, then he must have left a deep mental imprint on this girl’s consciousness. Contact on this level won’t alert him."

After Zhang Ye finished speaking, he closed his eyes. At the same time, he called out to Miss Minutes in his heart and began connecting the matter-energy of another universe to his mind, allowing himself to unleash an unprecedented and terrifying power in a short time.

A powerful magical force invisible to the naked eye flowed through Zhang Ye’s body. Along with the constant eruption of his mental power, it invaded Karolina’s brain.

"The power of magic?" Moon Knight quickly sensed the extraordinary surge of magical power.

"Yes, and it’s the legendary Magical Astral Projection. Only beings who command powerful magic can use it. Legend says that after using this magic, one’s soul can break through barriers and freely travel through every dimension and stream of time." John explained from the side, and the look he gave Zhang Ye grew increasingly reverent.

The moment Zhang Ye closed his eyes, specks of starlight flickered into existence. Then, everything around him gradually became clearer. Yet in Zhang Ye’s eyes, the world had become extraordinarily magnificent.

Countless threads like spider silk drifted through the air, while innumerable tiny bugs swam within it. At that moment, everything around him seemed to have become a kaleidoscope, endlessly repeating its dazzling transformations.

Seeing this, Zhang Ye suddenly realized that he was currently in a state of astral projection. Naturally, the way he perceived the world was completely different from before.

With that thought, Zhang Ye adjusted his gaze and looked toward Moon Knight and John behind him.
