Attack on Asgard

"Idiot."

Heimdall’s words made Odin deeply anxious. Just as he was about to set off, Wang Bert waved his hand, and a portal enveloped him.

Odin did not dodge. The next moment, he and the portal vanished together.

"What era is this? You’re still flying?"

Wang Bert sneered and said to Ivan and Barton on the Bifrost, "The Dark Elves could appear at any moment. You two, help Heimdall guard the Bifrost."

"Understood."

Ivan and Barton nodded at the same time. Just then, Heimdall sensed something. He suddenly leaped high into the air and landed atop a large transparent object.

Immediately afterward, Heimdall drew the two daggers from his waist and viciously plunged them into the transparent object. The object revealed itself—it was a Dark Elf Dagger Battleship.

"The Dark Elves are here! Activate the turrets! Launch the ships! Shoot them all down!"

As Heimdall frantically damaged the Dagger Battleship, he shouted loudly. The defense forces below immediately obeyed. Dozens of turrets firing Energy Bullets swept wildly through the void, forcing Dagger Battleships to reveal themselves one after another.

Seeing that Asgard had discovered them, the Dark Elf leader Malekith took the initiative to reveal the flagship. He roared, "Asgard, the day you repay your debts has come! Attack! Destroy Asgard!"

"Destroy Asgard!"

The Dark Elves roared in fury. Their Dagger Battleships charged forward wildly while firing fiercely at the turrets and buildings below.

"Your cloaking technology is pretty good. I’ll take it."

Ivan put on his Magic Suit, raised the Energy Lightning Cannon, and fired at a Dagger Battleship. With a boom, the battleship was blasted open with a huge hole.

The Dagger Battleship was enraged and fired continuously at Ivan. Ivan flew into the sky and began fighting it.

"The enemies are getting more advanced, but luckily, I finally have a suit."

Hawkeye Barton sighed, put on the Hawkeye Suit specially customized for him, then drew the longbow on the suit. An Energy Flame Arrow appeared out of thin air.

Barton aimed at a Dagger Battleship and released the bowstring. The Energy Flame Arrow struck the ship’s engine with perfect accuracy. Then, the flame arrow exploded with a thunderous boom, and the Dagger Battleship fell toward the river trailing black smoke and flames.

"Not much different from before."

Hawkeye nodded in satisfaction and continued drawing and firing his bow. Every arrow struck its target with incomparable efficiency.

At this moment, Heimdall, having dealt with the Dagger Battleship, returned to the Bifrost. He grasped the Guardian Sword in the control console and twisted it forcefully. A golden Defense Shield slowly rose from the edge of the city.

Malekith turned to Ebony Maw and asked, "Is your insider reliable? If that Defense Shield goes up completely, we’ll have made this trip for nothing tonight."

Ebony Maw said with absolute confidence, "Don’t worry. She’ll definitely complete the mission."

At the Energy Core, Loki looked at Thor, who was lying on the ground, and sneered. "My brother, over the past two years, you seem not only to have made no progress, but to have regressed. Oh, right, where’s your hammer? Don’t tell me it abandoned you again?"

Thor clutched his bleeding abdomen and roared, "Loki, I even pleaded with Father for you. I never expected you hadn’t changed at all. Not only did you collude with the Dark Elves, you also deceived me with lies and ambushed me."

"You and that damned Blood God turned me into a woman, and you expect me to become better? Aren’t you dreaming a little too much?"

Loki gritted her teeth and shouted, "I’m telling you, if I can’t have Asgard, I’d rather destroy it."

With that, Loki walked toward the Energy Core. Just then, light flashed, and Odin appeared. Looking at Loki and Thor on the ground, he could not help sighing and urged, "Loki, stop."

"Stop? Odin, are you fake? At a time like this, shouldn’t you be cursing me out?"

Loki mocked him in surprise. "Did the Blood God turn you into a woman too?"

Odin said, "Loki, was the father-son bond we shared for over a thousand years false? I never regarded you as an outsider.

"I know you resent me for keeping the truth from you, but that was because I considered you family and could not bear to tell you the truth."

Loki fell somewhat silent. After a moment, she said, "Odin, you really have changed. Unfortunately, I can’t turn back anymore. Back then, you never should have brought me back to Asgard."

Odin said, "Loki, surrender. I don’t want to fight you. As long as you are willing to turn over a new leaf, I will let bygones be bygones."

"I said I can’t turn back, and I don’t want to. I, Loki, was born to be king."

Loki shook her head. Thor shouted, "Loki, you’re no match for Father. Surrender."

"My foolish brother, haven’t you realized that I’ve been stalling for time all along?"

Loki sneered. "I was actually here from the beginning. I’ve been waiting for you to take the bait. Hahaha!"

"What?"

Odin and Thor’s expressions changed drastically. They both turned to look at the Energy Core and saw a pitch-black object flickering in and out of view within the orange-yellow energy.

"Father, Brother, please die."

Loki elegantly bowed to the two of them, then vanished. The next moment, the object inside the Energy Core suddenly burst apart, turning into a black hole that frantically devoured everything around it.

The energy within the core clashed violently with the black hole, making even space unstable. Odin’s expression changed drastically, and he immediately summoned the Infinity Gauntlet.

Boom! The palace containing the Energy Core erupted in an incomparably violent explosion. All of Asgard shook, and at the same time, the Defense Shield that had just risen rapidly dissipated.

"She succeeded."

Malekith laughed heartily and shouted, "Attack with everything you have! Level Asgard!"

"Level Asgard!"

The Dark Elves roared excitedly. Ebony Maw smiled faintly and said, "You can join in now as well."

Along with Ebony Maw’s words, Chitauri warships slowly emerged. Then, large numbers of Fire Giants and Frost Giants leaped from the ships, landing on Asgardian soil with heavy thuds.

"Asgard, I have arrived."

Fire Lord Surtur swung the enormous Twilight Sword and roared toward the sky.

"Level Asgard!"

The Fire Giants and Frost Giants roared in unison. They had waited far too long for this day.

Let us turn the clock back slightly. After sending Odin away, Wang Bert used Teleportation to arrive before Lorelei’s true body. Seeing Wang Bert, Lorelei, surrounded by guards, tugged at her clothes and gave him a seductive smile. "Do you want to see what I’m wearing under my clothes?"

"Yes, hurry up and take them off. I’ll reward you handsomely."

Wang Bert nodded repeatedly as he scattered a pile of currency at Lorelei. This was not U.S. dollars, but universal currency. The guards’ eyes visibly lit up.

Lorelei frowned. Something was wrong here. How had she become a dancer stripping for tips? "Hurry up and take them off. Is that not enough? I’ll give you more. I’ve got plenty of money."

Wang Bert scattered another handful of currency. Lorelei finally realized she was being toyed with and angrily demanded, "Why aren’t you under my control?"

"You are indeed beautiful, but not beautiful enough to make me lose my mind."

Wang Bert smiled. In fact, Lorelei currently looked like a spatial pixel-art figure in his eyes. That was why he was unaffected by her control.

"Kill him!"

Lorelei pointed at Wang Bert and roared. The guards immediately charged toward him. Wang Bert smiled faintly, instantly appeared in front of Lorelei, and gently touched her face.

By the time Lorelei reacted, Wang Bert had already returned to his original position.

Lorelei sensed that something was wrong and angrily asked, "What did you do?"

"Gentlemen, take a good look at your goddess."

Ignoring Lorelei, Wang Bert shouted at the guards. The guards instinctively turned to look at Lorelei, then all of them threw up.

Not only did these guards vomit, but so did the guards attacking the palace—Lorelei’s projections mirrored her appearance in real time.

"Hahaha! Lorelei, so this day has finally come for you!"

Seeing Lorelei’s appearance, Sif and the female guards could not help laughing loudly, feeling indescribably delighted.

"Vomit? What exactly did you do?"

Lorelei shouted in terror. Wang Bert kindly produced a Mirror for her and said, "I merely used the Face Changing Hand to alter your face a little."

Lorelei hurriedly looked into the Mirror. At first glance, she nearly fainted on the spot—in the Mirror was a multicolored pig’s head!

A pig’s head was horrifying enough, but this one was multicolored. No wonder they had all thrown up.

"Ah!"

Lorelei screamed as she clawed at her own face. In her view, she must have been wearing a mask.

"It’s useless. Only I can restore your original appearance."

Wang Bert shrugged, then shouted at the guards, "What are you still looking at? Hurry up and protect Asgard to atone for your sins!"

"Yes."

The guards came to their senses, bowed gratefully to Wang Bert, and headed to the Frontlines under Sif’s leadership.

"Those who serve others with beauty lose favor when beauty fades."

Wang Bert walked to Lorelei’s side and said, "Breaking your enchantment magic isn’t difficult at all."

"I beg you, restore my original appearance."

Lorelei pleaded to Wang Bert in a tearful voice. She had relied on her face her entire life. Without it, she might as well die.

There was no helping it. She had been breathtakingly beautiful from birth, so she had never needed to make any other effort. She had grown accustomed to it.

"Looks like I’m not suited to educating people. In that case, let’s make this simple."

Wang Bert shook his head and said, "Kneel and submit to me. Otherwise, not only will I refuse to remove your mask, I’ll turn you into a man."

Lorelei asked in terror, "Turn me into a man? You’re the one who turned Loki into a woman?"

"Yes."

Wang Bert said, "Submit or become a man. Decide for yourself."

"I submit."

Lorelei immediately knelt. She sneered inwardly. After all that, doesn’t he just want me? Hmph. As long as he’s interested in me, he’ll become my slave sooner or later. No man can escape the palm of my hand.

"Very good."

Wang Bert placed his finger against Lorelei’s brow and absorbed her blood. Lorelei sensed it but did not dare resist.

"Blood carrying divine power?"

Wang Bert narrowed his eyes. That was right—Lorelei also carried the divine power of the World Tree. In fact, quite a few Asgardians possessed it, such as Sif, the Three Warriors, and others.

Wang Bert analyzed Lorelei’s blood for a while, then sent his own blood into her brow.

"What is this?"

Lorelei instinctively used divine power to resist. Wang Bert looked at her with a half-smile but said nothing.

Lorelei’s heart chilled. After hesitating for a moment, she stopped resisting, allowing Wang Bert’s blood to merge smoothly into her body.

It seems divine power can resist the Blood Puppet Technique. This magic still needs an upgrade.

Wang Bert thought to himself. At that moment, Lorelei suddenly hugged his leg and cried, "I’ve finally found you. You are my only one. My heart is finally complete."

Lorelei’s heart had always been empty because the people around her either coveted her beauty or were Jealousy of her looks.

Wang Bert nearly kicked Lorelei away. There was no helping it—that pig’s head was simply too disgusting.

Wang Bert complained inwardly. Just then, the Energy Core exploded with a boom. Immediately afterward, Chitauri ships appeared, and a large number of Frost Giants and Fire Giants descended from the sky. The battle escalated sharply.

"The Chitauri? Thanos has gotten involved too?"

Wang Bert narrowed his eyes. After thinking for a moment, he asked Lorelei, "Does your enchantment ability work on Frost Giants and Fire Giants?"

"The species are too different. How could it possibly work?"

Lorelei raised her tear-streaked pig face and said helplessly, "The prerequisite for enchantment is that the target thinks I’m beautiful. Frost Giants and Fire Giants have completely different standards of beauty from Asgardians."

After hesitating, Lorelei continued, "There might be a chance with the Dark Elves. They aren’t too different from Asgardians."

"Then give it a try. Loki’s magic hasn’t disappeared yet anyway."

Wang Bert restored Lorelei’s appearance and said, "My Enchantress, go turn those Dark Elves into your puppets."

"Yes, Master."

Lorelei agreed without hesitation. Then she stood up and controlled the projections to move to the Bifrost, shouting, "Dark Elves, are you going to hurt me?"

The Dark Elves piloting the Dagger Battleships froze. Some remained unmoved, while others stared at Lorelei in infatuation and shouted, "Goddess, we are willing to go through fire and water for you!"

They were different races after all. It was impossible to enchant all of them.

"Go, eliminate Asgard’s enemies."

Lorelei shouted. The enchanted Dark Elves did not hesitate. They immediately piloted their Dagger Battleships toward their former allies, and for a time, large numbers of Dagger Battleships were destroyed.

Ebony Maw frowned and asked, "Malekith, what’s going on?"

"My people have been enchanted. Damn it."

Malekith turned to Loki, who had just entered, and shouted, "Hurry up and withdraw your useless magic."

"That’s called illusion magic."

Loki snorted and canceled the illusion magic on Lorelei. All the projections disappeared.

Though the projections vanished, the Dark Elves did not return to normal. Malekith could only painfully destroy them himself. He hated Lorelei to the extreme. Once the great task was accomplished, he would definitely have her torn to pieces.

"Algrim, I sense that the other half of the Aether is inside Valhalla Palace. Go bring it back to me."

After thinking for a moment, Malekith quietly ordered Algrim. Algrim, who had already used an Aether fragment to become a Cursed Warrior, silently nodded, jumped from the Dagger Battleship, and ran rapidly toward the palace.
