Battle Ends

At S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters, Sharon stared at the enormous Black Spider, then turned to Spider-Man, who had just been helped out by Melinda, and asked, "Spider-Man, can you turn into a giant spider too?"

Spider-Man shook his head repeatedly. "I don’t have that ability. Besides, it looks way too ugly."

"Ugly? It’s far worse than that. Spider-Man, do you know? I can only maintain this form for ten minutes. After ten minutes, I’ll die. From the moment I was created, I was a tool—a tool made for battle."

Black Spider suddenly burst into laughter. With a savage expression, it shouted, "Even without turning into this, I could only live for three years. Spider-Man, why did you lose your blood? Without your blood, I never would have been born."

Spider-Man finally understood why Black Spider hated him so much. Feeling somewhat guilty, he apologized weakly, "Sorry, I didn’t want this either."

Black Spider wanted to say more, but Pierce roared, "Don’t waste time. You only have ten minutes. Hurry and kill the Dragon God, then kill all the other Super Heroes too."

"Fine."

Black Spider could not disobey Pierce’s orders. It immediately used Teleportation to appear before the Dragon God and opened its mouth, spraying out a massive amount of venom.

The Dragon God breathed Dragon Fire, burning all the venom to ash. Then, it swung its tail and smashed it heavily toward Black Spider.

Black Spider teleported onto the Dragon God’s back. Its eight legs stabbed fiercely into the Dragon God’s back like eight sharp blades, each one flashing with a dim blue light—the sign of deadly poison.

The Dragon God did not dodge. It allowed Black Spider’s eight legs to pierce its back, then locked those legs in place with qi while gathering Dragon Fire on its back, wildly incinerating Black Spider.

The Dragon God was not made of flesh and blood. It had no vital points and feared no poison.

Black Spider was horrified and tried to teleport away, but with its eight legs locked down, it could not escape at all. Gritting its teeth, it sprayed venom to dissolve its own legs, then teleported out of the flames.

The Dragon God looked at Black Spider, which had reappeared in the distance and was rapidly regenerating, and sneered. "Not bad. You’re pretty decisive."

"I’ll kill you. Only then can I prove that I existed."

Black Spider roared. The Dragon God snorted. "Nice idea, but do you have the strength for it?"

"Of course I do."

Black Spider glared at the Dragon God, and all eight of its eyes fired lasers at once. The Dragon God directly unleashed flames and clashed with Black Spider’s lasers.

At the same time, Tony and the others charged onto another Helicarrier, crazily destroying its facilities. Hydra fought back with all its strength, and the two sides erupted into fierce battle amid nonstop artillery fire.

"This won’t do. At this rate, that Helicarrier will sooner or later be dismantled by Tony and the others."

Pierce gritted his teeth and went over to activate the assembled machine. As he pressed the button, the machine began operating at full power. Icy light flickered endlessly within it, and waves of cold spread outward, making people shiver uncontrollably.

Pierce grabbed the remote control and quickly fled the room. Then, through the communicator, he ordered Black Spider, "Lead the Dragon God into the command room. The Freezing Machine has already been activated."

"Understood."

Black Spider nodded, pretended to be outmatched, and stopped firing its lasers. Then it teleported away from the blazing flames.

Black Spider then fled rapidly toward the command room. The Dragon God gave it a contemptuous glance, lowered its head, and fired a fireball at Winter Soldier below.

Boom! Winter Soldier was blasted away. Steve shouted with some distress, "Dragon God, that’s Bucky, my best friend."

The Dragon God chuckled. "Take him down already. Also, Ms. Carter is jealous."

Carter fired electric spider webs at Winter Soldier while smiling. "I’m not that petty."

"Then why have you kept Sharon from seeing Steve?"

The Dragon God sneered. Carter immediately looked a little awkward, then shot the Dragon God a glare. Wasn’t it because of that joke you made back then? Nearby, Sharon blinked when she heard this. She had long noticed that her aunt kept her from getting close to Captain America. Now it was finally confirmed—but why?

Seeing that the Dragon God had not followed and was instead chatting about everyday matters, Black Spider was on the verge of losing it. This wasn’t how the script was supposed to go. Shouldn’t the Dragon God be eagerly chasing after it, only to be ambushed by the machine?

Pierce was equally stunned. He shouted at Black Spider, "Hurry and lure him in. We don’t have much time."

"I know, but how am I supposed to lure him? My spider silk can’t bind it."

Black Spider thought for a moment, teleported beside Spider-Man, and fired a web that trapped him.

Then Black Spider picked up the struggling Spider-Man and flew toward the command room again. It refused to believe the Dragon God would not follow this time.

"You’re quite clever."

The Dragon God smiled and said to Black Spider, "Fine, enough playing. Look into my eyes."

Black Spider instinctively looked into the Dragon God’s eyes. The next moment, it uncontrollably recalled its brief life, and then its soul burst into blazing flames.

Though Black Spider had only existed for a short time, its sins were no less severe. In fact, its very existence was a sin.

"There’s a move like this too? Fine. At last, I can be free. The only pity is that I didn’t even live to see my first birthday. Also, I never got to eat pizza."

Black Spider sighed as its enormous body fell toward the ground.

Trapped in the web with his web-shooters destroyed, Spider-Man cried out in alarm, "Hey, can someone save me? I’m going to fall to my death!"

Seeing this, Sharon hurriedly controlled her Glider to catch Spider-Man. Spider-Man lay sprawled across the Glider and let out a huge sigh of relief. But when he saw Black Spider’s corpse, he could not help feeling sad again. If he had not lost his blood, Black Spider would never have been born. He had wronged Black Spider.

"How did this happen? Why did my Black Spider suddenly die? That’s impossible!"

Lizard Doctor, who was fleeing, saw this and shouted in disbelief. He could not accept the result at all, because he did not even know how Black Spider had died.

That had been his greatest creation! "Penance Stare? That dragon actually knows Ghost Rider’s Penance Stare? How is that possible?"

Pierce had guessed Black Spider’s cause of death, but he was just as unable to understand it—why did the Dragon God know Ghost Rider’s Penance Stare? It made no sense at all.

"Damn it."

Pierce quickly accepted reality. Taking a deep breath, he fled toward the basement. As long as he was alive, he would have another chance to rise again.

The Dragon God glanced at the office building, then leaped off the Helicarrier. At the same time, it shouted to Tony, "Tony, go take your revenge. Leave the Helicarrier to me."

"Alright. Thank you, Bert."

Tony was overjoyed and immediately flew toward the office building. Before long, he cornered the fleeing Pierce in the underground parking garage.

Tony raised his hand and aimed it at Pierce, saying hatefully, "Pierce, pay for my parents’ lives."

"Kill me?"

Pierce raised the remote in his hand and sneered. "Do you know how many people will die if I press this button?"

Tony sneered. "You think you can scare me?"

"I’m not trying to scare you. There’s a Freezing Machine in the command room. Once activated, the entire S.H.I.E.L.D. building will be frozen solid."

Pierce said, "It was originally meant to deal with the Blood God. But neither he nor the Dragon God took the bait."

Tony frowned. "How could it possibly be that powerful?"

"Because it contains a large number of Frost Giant cores."

Pierce said, "The Frost Giants’ power of ice is all contained in their cores."

Tony cursed, "Don’t forget, your Hydra people are in the building too."

"To sacrifice themselves for me is their honor."

Pierce sneered and shouted, "Iron Man, let me leave, or the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Blood Clan Police in the office building will be buried with me."

"You really are despicable."

Tony snorted. Red light lit up on the back of his left hand. Then he swung his left hand at Pierce. A red laser flashed, slicing Pierce and his remote control cleanly in two. "This move was specially saved for you, Alexander Pierce. Go to Hell and meet my parents."

Tony said through gritted teeth. With intense disbelief on his face, Pierce’s body split in two and collapsed to the ground. He barely opened his mouth and spoke the last words of his life. "Hail Hydra."

"Good riddance."

Tony snorted, and his entire body relaxed. His blood feud had finally been avenged.

After thinking for a moment, Tony said over the communication channel, "I killed Pierce. Sorry, I know I should have kept him alive to interrogate him for information, but I really couldn’t hold back."

The communication channel fell silent at first, then a burst of cheers erupted. "He deserved to die! That bastard should have died long ago! Iron Man, well done!"

"You did well."

Steve also praised him, though he felt worried inside. With Tony harboring such deep hatred, would he really spare Bucky?

"Winter Soldier?"

Tony frowned slightly, then remembered the pilots he had killed. The killing intent in his heart immediately lessened considerably.

"We’ll see."

Tony shook his head and flew toward the command room. There was still one more problem to deal with there.

In the command room, Tony fiddled with the controls for a moment and easily shut down the machine. Just as he was about to destroy it, a thunderous explosion sounded outside. The Dragon God had smashed the Helicarrier into two pieces with one sweep of its tail.

Bert is getting stronger and stronger. Even if all the Super Heroes joined forces, they probably wouldn’t be his match, right?

Tony suddenly felt a trace of worry—worry not directed at Wang Bert, but at all super-powered beings.

After considering it, Tony decided to keep the machine. It might come in handy at a critical moment.

At the base, Lizard Doctor smashed the tablet in his hand to the ground in fury. Neither of his two Trump Cards had worked.

At that moment, the exit ahead came into view. Lizard Doctor said, "Come on, let’s find another place. Next time, I’ll design even more powerful creations and kill both the Blood God and the Dragon God."

Just then, a cold voice suddenly rang out. "Sorry, but you won’t have a next time."

Along with the voice, a large number of Drone Armor suits flew out from the sides and aimed their machine guns at Lizard Doctor and the guards.

Lizard Doctor immediately raised his hands and said without a shred of dignity, "Whose people are you? I can work with you."

Seeing Lizard Doctor surrender, the guards wisely dropped their guns and raised their hands as well.

Mercury emerged carrying a long blade and said coldly, "You’re asking whose people I am?"

"Osborn Corporation president Mercury? You’re the Blood God’s people?"

Lizard Doctor felt that things were going badly. He hurriedly said, "I believe that even the Blood God needs my intelligence. I can help him design many things."

Mercury walked over and said calmly, "Don’t worry. The Blood God ordered us to capture you alive."

"That’s good."

Lizard Doctor let out a sigh of relief and said, "CEO Mercury, hello, my name is—"

Bang! Mercury struck Lizard Doctor unconscious with the hilt of her blade. She mocked, "Who cares what your name is?"

Then Mercury glanced at the guards and ordered coldly, "Kill them."

"No!"

The guards cried out. The next moment, gunfire rang out, and all the guards fell to the ground.

Mercury took out her phone and called Wang Bert, reporting, "Blood God, Lizard Doctor has been captured."

Wang Bert nodded in satisfaction and ordered, "Very good. Bring Lizard Doctor and everything useful back to our base. Also, clean up the bodies."

"Yes, Blood God."

Mercury hung up and immediately began carrying out the orders.

On the New York Battlefield, High-Temperature People were being eliminated one after another. Just then, Black Light flashed before Wang Bert, and Elektra appeared holding Extraordinary Dragon’s head. She said to Wang Bert, "Master, please accept it."

Looking at Extraordinary Dragon’s dead, unclosed eyes, Wang Bert nodded in satisfaction. "Very good. Keep this as an ornament for me. Hm? Elektra, why does it feel like you’ve become stronger?"

"I used The Beast’s ability to devour Extraordinary Dragon’s soul."

Elektra said excitedly, "I’ve only digested a small part of it so far. Once I digest it all, my strength will become even greater."

Wang Bert frowned. "Devouring souls? Will there be any side effects?"

"Of course an ability like that has side effects. Simply put, I’ll become more bloodthirsty and more cruel. However, my soul is in Master’s hands, so Master can stop me at any time."

Elektra said, her eyes filled with fervor. Clearly, she intended to keep using this method to increase her strength in the future.

Wang Bert thought for a moment and said, "From now on, unless I send you out, stay by my side at all times."

"Yes, Master."

Elektra nodded without hesitation. Wang Bert drew a circle with one hand and sent the dragon head back to the laboratory. Then he took out his phone and called President Ellis. "Mr. President, have the governments begun attacking S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

President Ellis replied, "They have. Anyone who refuses to surrender will be treated as Hydra and killed without mercy."

"Very good. Pierce has been executed, and all the Helicarriers have been destroyed. Mr. president, it’s about time for you to hold a press conference."

Wang Bert smiled. "I believe your approval rating will soar."

"Without you, Blood God, I would have died at Mandarin’s hands long ago."

President Ellis said, "Blood God, when I retire in the future, I will definitely join the Dragon God Cult."

"That’ll be a long wait. You still need to win reelection."

Wang Bert laughed. President Ellis laughed heartily. "With these two great achievements, I don’t think I could avoid reelection even if I wanted to."

After hanging up, Wang Bert smiled. With his current strength, even if a hardline president took office, they would not dare do anything to him. If they pushed him too far, he could always split New York State off and establish New America.

However, Earth had no time for a Civil War, so President Ellis still needed to remain in office.

Wang Bert’s eyes flickered. President Ellis might become America’s last president. To enter the interstellar era, Earth must unite—unite peacefully.
