Black Sword: Dragon Slayer’s Unsealing Quest (3K)
Orphis’s head slammed into the ground before instantly bouncing back up. The soft grassland below could not withstand such a terrifying impact. The earth split and surged upward, while the underground rock layers shattered completely into black fragments that scattered in every direction.
The transparent shockwave spread outward with a hum.
The light in Orphis’s Golden Eyes nearly faded. Her thoughts completely stalled as the sheer force almost rattled her brain apart. Only then did her scales begin to crack with sharp crunches.
Bai Cangshu sensed the toughness of the dragon’s flesh. It was like some special material; the force traveling through the dragon’s scales, flesh, and bones suffered far greater depletion than it would against other materials.
The force that could shatter living creatures inside a tank had actually failed to kill this Second Generation dragon.
This creature… Ha! Interesting. Very interesting!
Bai Cangshu gave a strange laugh and raised his hand again, opening his fist into a palm. Within the twisting spiral, the Rakshasa Palm technique from the Kengan World had been driven to its Peak of Skill by his monstrous physique.
As the spiral contracted, the force stirred the air. When he drew back his arm, spiraling air currents formed, like a miniature tornado following the path of Bai Cangshu’s palm.
Orphis’s irises were bloodshot, and her mind recovered a sliver of awareness from the chaos. It was as though the roar of a king echoed within her skull from somewhere unseen.
Orphis suddenly swung her long tail again. With a bang, it shattered the air and smashed into the human preparing to attack her again from behind.
Bang!
Bai Cangshu neither dodged nor evaded. Although after activating Lord of the Realm, he could no longer use his non-soul abilities either, avoiding the attack would not have been difficult with his martial foundation at the Peak of Skill.
But Bai Cangshu simply did not dodge.
With another bang, Bai Cangshu’s entire body shook. A mist of blood burst from his back in an instant. The Kirin Armor was completely unharmed, but quite a few capillaries beneath his skin had ruptured. Amid the intense sting, Bai Cangshu’s grin widened.
He had not felt this kind of pain in a long time.
Pain was also a form of pleasure!
This level of stinging only made Bai Cangshu feel more alive. That scent of blood made the battle even more exhilarating.
Hum~
The spiraling air roared. In the next instant, Bai Cangshu’s palm landed on the dragon’s head.
Pfft!
As the palm came down, the spiraling force visibly followed Bai Cangshu’s gaze and drove into the silver-white dragon’s crown. In the next moment, scales and flesh twisted violently.
Pfft pfft pfft pfft…
Shattered scales and blood were squeezed out by the spiraling force and shot away, exposing the dragon’s crimson flesh, as well as the white bones and blood vessels beneath. Scalding Dragon Blood flowed through them.
"Just like that. Keep going. This is what it means to feel every punch hit flesh!"
Bai Cangshu clenched his fist and smashed it down again.
Bang!
The ground sank, and the dragon’s body trembled.
Orphis’s mind was muddled, countless scenes from the past appearing before her eyes. Then, she seemed to clearly see the Dragon Clan’s golden age, a glory she had never personally experienced.
Bai Cangshu continued raining down his fists. He consciously restrained the Myriad Death Intent. Whenever the Yellow Springs surged and death intent flashed forth, he dispersed his force and struck empty air in another direction.
That surging death intent was like an ice river on the verge of bursting through its banks, wildly accumulating within him.
Bai Cangshu continued hammering the dragon, but it no longer fought back.
Pfft!
Flesh exploded, and scalding Dragon Blood splashed across Bai Cangshu’s face. He finally stopped in disappointment. Looking around, he saw countless illusory spirits appearing in all sorts of bizarre, twisted forms.
These spirit creatures had already crawled all over the dragon’s body, constantly gnawing at it.
"A Second Generation is only capable of this much in the end…"
Light flashed in Bai Cangshu’s hand, and a pitch-black Claymore appeared. Now, both his Armament Haki and physical attributes were more than enough to wield this sword with ease.
"Hu… man…"
The dragon’s voice was faint and intermittent. Before Bai Cangshu’s raised sword could fall, he heard the Female Dragon’s voice as though it had entered his ear directly.
It was likely some instinctive control over sound and air vibrations. Even on the verge of death, she could still achieve this.
Such extraordinary instinct was a power humans did not possess.
Bai Cangshu lowered his eyelids, prepared to listen to a dragon’s last words.
"This… world is the world of us… dragons…"
"On the day our king returns to this world, all traitors… shall die!"
Pfft!
The black sword fell. A flash of black sword light appeared, and the enormous dragon head was severed with a wet slash. Dragon Blood covered the black sword, and a peculiar power erupted from within it.
Some of the sinister black aura faded from the blade, revealing mottled silver beneath.
Black Sword: Dragon Slayer unlock progress updated. Current: Second Seal—Unlock Requirement: Dragon King's BloodBai Cangshu froze. He looked at the Black Sword in his hand, frowning deeply. For a moment, he could not recall why he had chosen to take out this particular sword.
The blood of a common king must end by the sword. Logically speaking, he had not believed this Second Generation to be a Dragon King, so he should not have felt compelled to kill it with a sword.
With his abilities, he had countless ways to kill a Second Generation that had lost the ability to resist. Yet he had specifically taken out the Black Sword: Dragon Slayer.
And by sheer coincidence, after being stained with Dragon Blood, the Black Sword: Dragon Slayer had obtained the condition for unsealing.
Bai Cangshu looked at Guts’s Claymore. Earlier, because his ability value had been insufficient, he had chosen Incomplete Appraisal. Yet now, despite lacking complete information, he had still "coincidentally" obtained the condition to unseal this sword.
That feeling of being beyond his control filled Bai Cangshu with irritation.
Fate, Causality Law… Several names flashed through his mind. For now, he could not determine whether it was the Abyss God from the Berserk World lingering like a ghost, Causality Law becoming entangled with him, or the King of Destiny he had yet to meet in this space interfering with him.
You killed Orpheus Niflheim and gained 7000 Dimensional Points. You obtained a Drop Card (Purple).Bai Cangshu grabbed the purple card that condensed before him. Only then did the professor, who had been hiding in the sky using a vehicle, dare to land.
He knew his own strength well. Whether facing Gilbert or the Hymn Choir afterward, he could be killed if he was not careful.
Thus, once the battle began, he had put on the Invisibility Cloak and hidden.
The professor’s expression was solemn as he descended from the sky. Ignoring everything else, he pointed upward and said,
"Look over there. I have a very bad feeling about this, His Excellency Mercenary Tao. I think we need to get that thing as quickly as possible, then leave these waters…"
As the giant dragon Orphis died, the dark clouds in the sky began to disperse, revealing a vast bronze-colored expanse overhead.
It was as if a colossal vortex had appeared in that patch of sky. The sea of clouds was continuously drawn into it, but contrary to all reason, the clouds showed no sign of vanishing.
Instead, they kept repeating the process of being drawn in.
The professor, familiar with the Dragon Raja World setting, knew very well that it was likely a sign that time had become disordered. The King of Bronze and Fire was probably about to awaken in an unimaginably complete form.
Even the time in that section of sky had already been seized.
He spread open his hand, revealing several high-quality purple gemstone fragments.
He had used his ability, but he had not received overly specific information.
He had only seen flames burning the entire world, and a blood-colored giant standing upon the sea.
Bai Cangshu said nothing. Because he could clearly sense the traces of an outside force interfering with him, his expression was incomparably gloomy.
Step. Step. Step.
Seraphina’s face was pale as she continued trying to drip her blood into Etoris’s body to heal his wounds. But in the next instant, a large hand grabbed her and lifted her up.
"The Origin Substance is inside your body, isn’t it, little Saintess~"
The professor was startled and immediately stepped forward. The information he gained through his ability could guide him, but his perception of energy essence was far less sensitive than Bai Cangshu’s.
He took out the gemstones again, but his ability’s cooldown had not ended yet. He had to wait a little longer.
Bai Cangshu pressed the pitch-black Claymore against the girl’s chest, yet the red-haired girl showed little fear.
She merely shook her head in confusion.
"I don’t know what you’re talking about, but if you want to kill me, could you let me do one last thing first?"
"I want to purify Holy City Latina… I want those noble knights who willingly became beasts in order to fight the Dragon Clan to return to holiness."
Only then did Bai Cangshu notice that this red-haired girl, whose face still bore a few freckles, had sea-blue eyes.
Those eyes were filled with seriousness.
Before Bai Cangshu’s eyes appeared the figures of two other girls: Cindy from the One Piece World, with the crudely written word justice on her back, and Illya from the Type-Moon World, sitting on the shoulder of a black giant and extending her hand to him.
The three figures overlapped somewhat.
Thud. Etoris, who had just regained consciousness, dropped to one knee. His lion-like golden hair covered the wounds on his body.
"His Excellency Mercenary Tao, you said it yourself, didn’t you? As long as this heart of mine can still burn, you will protect Lady Seraphina’s life!"
Pfft!
The wound that had just healed was torn open once more.
The professor’s pupils dilated, while Seraphina cried out and rushed forward to treat him.
But Etoris flung her away, pointed at his own torn-open chest, and said. His face twitched, and he was pale as paper, but his eyes gleamed like flames.
"Look, His Excellency Mercenary Tao…"
"My heart is still beating. My hot blood is still flowing!"
Clang!
The pitch-black Claymore swung through the air once. Dragon Blood splattered across the grassland as Bai Cangshu put away the Black Sword. The sight of willpower burning brightly enough to overwhelm instinct finally improved his mood somewhat.
"Heh, then I hope you can keep burning until this little Saintess finishes her purification."
Having obtained Mercenary Tao’s promise, Etoris finally collapsed to the ground. Seraphina and the professor quickly began bandaging him.
Bai Cangshu, however, turned his gaze toward the far side of the distant sea. There, a distinct gaze was meeting his own.
Bai Cangshu’s lips moved soundlessly, forming several words.
"Don’t rush. I’ll be there soon… to kill you~"
Inside the cathedral of Holy City Latina, Lawrence closed his eyes coldly.
"Ignorant beast."
