Black Sword Qi, Vacation Approaching

PS: Thanks to Qing Yi Jie for the reward, becoming this book’s first Protector.

Su Yu and Mao Jiu did not go back to sleep that entire night. Su Yu helped Mao Jiu adjust her posture all night long.

They did not stop until after six in the morning. Then they went to eat breakfast together. After breakfast, Mao Jiu fled to the classroom in embarrassment.

Su Yu smiled and returned to his office.

After returning to his office, Su Yu found himself a little bored. Seeing the many books Kieran had left there, he picked up a few and began reading.

Not long after, Su Yu left his office because it was time for his swordsmanship class. He arrived at the training grounds, and once everyone had gathered, he said directly, "Other than Mao Jiu, all of you go chop the Wooden Dummies."

"Why doesn’t she have to?" Liang Bing asked doubtfully.

Su Yu explained, "Mao Jiu has already learned Sword Qi. She can begin practicing sword techniques."

"Did you give her private lessons last night?!" Liang Bing looked at Su Yu.

Su Yu rolled his eyes at Liang Bing. "Cut the crap. Why should I explain so much to you? Practice if you want, or give up early if you don’t."

"You! Hmph!" Liang Bing picked up her Wooden Sword in a huff and began taking out her anger on a Wooden Dummy.

He Xi and the others also picked up their Wooden Swords and began chopping at the Wooden Dummies. Meanwhile, Su Yu brought Mao Jiu to an empty classroom to practice swordsmanship and movement techniques. He did not keep watching Liang Bing and the others, because forcing someone to learn the sword would never lead anywhere.

Seeing Su Yu and Mao Jiu leave, several angels immediately began complaining.

"How long are we supposed to chop these things? How could we possibly cut them apart?"

"If you ask me, he never planned to teach us anything real. He must be going to teach Mao Jiu alone right now."

"Sigh, we might as well be fighting. What kind of training is chopping wooden figures every day?"

He Xi glanced at them. "Enough! Stop talking. The Queen told us to practice, so we must practice!"

Half a year later

In the end, nearly all the angels gave up learning swordsmanship, leaving only Liang Bing behind. Half a year had passed, and even He Xi felt that Su Yu had been brushing them off, so she left as well. In the end, only Mao Jiu and Liang Bing remained in Su Yu’s elective class.

Mao Jiu continued studying sword techniques as always, occasionally sparring with Su Yu to improve her swordsmanship. Liang Bing, meanwhile, was still chopping Wooden Dummies.

Liang Bing’s talent for the sword was nowhere near as monstrous as Su Yu’s or Mao Jiu’s, but Su Yu could tell that if she practiced for at most another half year, she would definitely develop Sword Qi. At that point, among Third Generation God Bodies, few would be her match.

Now it only depended on whether Liang Bing could hold on.

The reason Liang Bing had persisted for so long was that she had not left that night. She had seen Mao Jiu cut a Wooden Dummy in half with one strike, so she knew Su Yu was not brushing them off. It really was possible to cut apart a Wooden Dummy!

After half a year, Mao Jiu had practiced the Tianxuan Nine Swords to the point of mastery. Among Third Generation God Bodies, not many were stronger than her anymore.

During this time, Mao Jiu had remained with Su Yu, and their relationship gradually grew closer. Su Yu was not an idiot. How could he not pursue a girl he liked? However, he did not chase her desperately. Instead, he chose to take things step by step. Perhaps what happened with Lin Rou had made him feel that he could not be too quick to get together with someone.

Only time would allow Su Yu to truly understand someone completely. Only then could he know whether he and Mao Jiu were truly compatible.

Time passed quickly, and another half year went by in the blink of an eye. The angels had also completed a year of study. Super God Academy had a three-year program, and only after those three years would the angels truly graduate.

Super God Academy also had vacations, though they were not divided into winter and summer breaks. There was simply a two-month break every year. Vacation was about to begin, and today was the final swordsmanship class.

Su Yu arrived at the training grounds, where Liang Bing had already come early. She said nothing, picked up her Wooden Sword, and began chopping at a Wooden Dummy. As she chopped, a faint black glow suddenly appeared on her Wooden Sword.

A smile appeared on Su Yu’s face. She had finally developed Sword Qi. It had to be said that Liang Bing had the worst talent of any student he had taught.

Liang Bing also sensed the power on her Wooden Sword and swung it out with a flourish.

Black Sword Qi erupted and cut the Wooden Dummy in half with one strike. Looking at everything before her, Liang Bing could not help bursting into laughter. "Hahahaha! I knew I could do it! Su Yu, did you see that? I cut this Wooden Dummy apart too!"

Su Yu smiled and shook his head. "Liang Bing, I have to say, you are the worst student I have ever taught."

Liang Bing: "…"

"What the hell do you mean by that?!" Liang Bing snapped angrily.

Su Yu waved a hand. "Exactly what I said. It took you a whole year just to develop Sword Qi. What about Sword Intent? Sword Will? Sword Soul? Your talent is the worst among my students and disciples. Still, don’t lose heart. Compared to ordinary people, you are still a genius."

Liang Bing gritted her teeth in anger. What did he mean, compared to ordinary people? Was she really that far behind his other disciples?

"I advise you to give up the path of the sword. On the path of swordsmanship, if you lack talent, you need hard work to make up for it. You will never reach the pinnacle of the sword," Su Yu said with a smile.

Liang Bing was so angry that Sword Qi flared over her Wooden Sword again. She slashed directly at Su Yu. "Then I’ll reach the pinnacle of the sword just to show you!"

Su Yu caught Liang Bing’s Sword Qi between two fingers and smiled. "Don’t force yourself too hard. If you can’t do it, just give up."

"Hmph!" Liang Bing stormed off in anger.

Su Yu laughed. Mao Jiu came to his side and asked doubtfully, "Brother Su Yu, why do you keep telling Liang Bing to give up?"

"I’m provoking her. Couldn’t you tell? Liang Bing has a free-spirited nature, and her talent for the sword is not as monstrous as ours. What she needs is persistence. If I don’t provoke her, how could she devote herself wholeheartedly to studying the sword?" Su Yu said with a smile.

Mao Jiu giggled. "Brother Su Yu, you’re too wicked."

"How am I wicked? I’m thinking of her. If she doesn’t work hard, how could she fight Keisha in the future?" Su Yu spread his hands helplessly. He knew that Keisha had also secretly been chopping Wooden Dummies. She developed Sword Qi in half a year, and Su Yu had even taught her a sword technique.

Mao Jiu asked in confusion, "Huh? Fight Keisha over what?"

"Nothing. The academy goes on break tomorrow. Little Jiu, do you have any plans?" Su Yu asked with a smile.

Mao Jiu shook her head. "No. Usually, I stay at the academy to read, but this vacation, I’ll probably stay here and practice swordsmanship."

Su Yu said, "Practicing the sword all the time won’t do. You need actual combat. How about I take you to a civilization in the age of cold weapons during this vacation so you can hone your swordsmanship?"

Mao Jiu thought for a moment, then smiled and nodded. "Sure."
