Blood of Ten Thousand Beasts

Three days passed quietly. After three days of rest, everyone had recovered their original sharp spirit.

Having undergone the test of life and death, and the tempering of blood and fire, this group of family descendants finally began to bloom with the brilliance they deserved.

While one could not say they were like divine weapons unsheathed, at the very least, they were no longer a pile of scrap metal; they already possessed the embryonic form of experts.

On the Xuantian Plaza, thousands of Disciples gathered, making the massive square, which spanned hundreds of miles, exceptionally lively.

In the center of the square stood a massive statue reaching a height of a hundred zhang. The statue was of a man holding a long sword, pointing directly at the firmament, a will to slash through heaven and earth shaking the cosmos.

This statue was said to be the Ancestral Master who founded the Xuantian Dao Sect. However, it seemed this statue had existed since the Xuantian Branch was built. Having weathered the erosion of time, it had begun to look a bit worn, but that will of looking down on the world had not changed in the slightest.

Below the giant statue, over a hundred Disciples wearing green robes were frantically busy.

Among them were men and women, though women made up the majority. They were nervously inserting small needles into the arms of the other Disciples, extracting a drop of fresh blood, placing it into a metal vessel, and then recording the details.

On a small note, the name, gender, age, and other information of the person being collected were recorded.

Under a large tree at the edge of the square sat two youths. One of them was squinting his eyes, staring blankly at the statue.

After staring blankly for a while, that youth opened his mouth and said: "Guo Ran, are you sure we should go over last?"

Guo Ran said with a Face full of confidence: "Boss, trust me. According to my intelligence, those collecting blood are all newbies who just entered the sect this year."

"Having them collect blood samples is a type of assessment for them. Usually, they have to poke several times before they can extract a drop of Essence Blood sample."

"If you don't believe me, look at their nervous expressions. Their hands are even shaking a bit. Boss, trust me, I'm right."

Long Chen did indeed notice that those people were very nervous, but it was just extracting a drop of blood; there was no need to be like this.

However, to give Guo Ran some Face, Long Chen didn't say anything and continued to stare blankly at the statue.

For some reason, looking at this statue, he had a feeling—a feeling that this statue was alive. Although this thought was ridiculous, that was indeed how it was. It was a profound and mysterious feeling.

"Boss, it's done. The people are gone, we can go over now."

Long Chen was staring blankly at the statue, and time had passed quickly without him noticing. Everyone had finished their collections.

Long Chen nodded. Just now, with so many people, he had vaguely seen the figures of Lei Qianshang, Qi Xin, and others, as well as several guys with extremely powerful auras.

He agreed to Guo Ran's proposal partly because he didn't want to run into them. After all, once this group of guys saw Long Chen, they would mock him like mad dogs.

Long Chen didn't think he could remain indifferent to honor and humiliation, so he simply couldn't be bothered to argue with them. He didn't want to be a laughingstock for people from the other four regions here.

However, Long Chen had also secretly observed that many astonishing guys had appeared, their auras so powerful that it was startling, not a bit inferior to Lei Qianshang and the others.

Just a moment ago, Lei Qianshang had almost gotten into a conflict with someone. That person was also a Core Disciple, both of them extremely arrogant. The two of them looked at each other with disdain, and sparks flew.

Unfortunately, just as their sparks were about to bloom into more brilliant light, they were chased away by the Senior Brother maintaining order at the scene.

Moreover, the Senior Brother maintaining order was also an old acquaintance—it was the Senior Brother Wan with the stern Face he had met the first time.

The people around had all left, and only then did Long Chen and Guo Ran appear. Senior Brother Wan happened to see Long Chen.

Senior Brother Wan looked at Long Chen and nodded, saying: "Not bad. I've heard about your performance in the assessment."

"Hehe, in the end, I still didn't pass. Senior Brother Wan, please don't tease this little brother. Sorry, we're late. The inspection hasn't ended yet, right?" Long Chen laughed.

In Long Chen's intuition, this Senior Brother Wan was the type of person who was rigid and humorless. Such people were often upright, making one feel favorable towards them.

"It's not too late. Go ahead. I'm about to finish my shift too. I'm leaving first!" Senior Brother Wan sighed and turned to leave, but before he left, his gaze was a little strange.

Long Chen immediately felt something was wrong. He looked over at the registration side and saw over a dozen young girls being scolded until their Faces were red and they lowered their heads by a Senior Sister.

He couldn't understand what they were doing. One registrar was boredly looking at and fiddling with the pen in her hand.

"Excuse me, sorry, we're late. Can you register us now?" Guo Ran said politely.

That person suddenly looked up at Long Chen and Guo Ran with a Face full of wild joy, as if they had seen a savior. He shouted excitedly to the people behind him: "Those who didn't pass the assessment earlier, hurry up and seize the opportunity! There are two more here."

The young girls who had been hanging their heads and listless were suddenly as if they had heard celestial music; their eyes all turned towards Long Chen and Guo Ran.

Long Chen and Guo Ran were shocked, as if they had seen a pack of hungry wolves pouncing on two sheep…

A quarter of an hour later, Long Chen and Guo Ran walked out of the square, dejected. Their arms had almost been poked into honeycombs.

Long Chen had lived this long, and this was the first time he had been used as a test subject. And facing those pitiful girls, how could he bear to refuse?

That examiner had said that if the technique couldn't satisfy her, they would be sent back to where they came from.

As a result, under the almost pleading gazes of a group of girls, Long Chen and Guo Ran surrendered, and thus came the miserable result.

"Guo Ran, is this the strategy you talked about?" Long Chen took a deep breath, trying his best not to let his voice be filled with contempt, but he realized he really couldn't do it.

"That… Boss, this was definitely an accident. It won't happen next time." Guo Ran was also full of depression. No one expected things to turn out like this.

It had to be said that the Xuantian Branch was too big. Just running from their residence to the square took Long Chen and Guo Ran over an hour.

Just as they returned to their residence, seeing that everyone had already gathered, Tang Waner saw the two of them swaying over and couldn't help but be a bit angry: "Where did you two go? Why are you only back now? Hurry up and prepare. The benefits have already been distributed."

Only then did Long Chen notice that everyone had a small jar in front of them, about the size of a wine jar. He didn't know what was inside.

Guo Ran received a jar, but Tang Waner didn't give Long Chen his share. She said to everyone: "What's in the jar is the Ten Thousand Beast Essence Blood. Absorbing the Essence Blood inside will raise the blood in your bodies to the limit, and there is a great chance you can achieve a Flawless Breakthrough."

Everyone looked at the jar in their hands with excitement. Obviously, most of them knew what was in this jar.

They had painstakingly suppressed their cultivation at the Blood Condensation Realm just for this day, just to obtain the Ten Thousand Beast Essence Blood.

Usually, a Martial Artist's level advancement is divided into four Ranks: Defective, Flawed, Flawless, and Perfect.

Generally, Martial Artists in the secular world almost all advance with Defective status. Such an advancement would cause the Foundation to become extremely loose, causing a huge impact on future cultivation.

However, there was no help for it. Who told ordinary Martial Artists not to have such powerful resources to solidify their Foundation? This was a kind of fate that was hard to change.

There was another type called Flawed. These were some family descendants whose Foundations were laid extremely solidly. However, during the advancement, they left behind slight flaws. Although it had a certain impact on later cultivation, it was much, much smaller than Defective.

The third type was Flawless. This was an advancement method that countless experts dreamed of. If this standard was reached, then the hidden dangers left by the upgrade would have a negligible impact on future cultivation.

And the last type was called Perfect, which was an immaculate advancement method. This kind of advancement method was something that could be met but not sought. Even monster-level Geniuses needed to rely on luck, so most people didn't dare to covet it.

In their eyes, a Flawless advancement was already perfect. Such an advancement method would give them hope of advancing to the Innate realm, although that sliver of hope was extremely slim.

"In addition, Outer Sect Disciples can use their own Nameplates to go to the Xuantian Pavilion to receive one Spirit Stone and five hundred points."

"Inner Sect Disciples can receive two Spirit Stones and two thousand points. This can be claimed once a month. This is equivalent to your salary."

"As for how to use Spirit Stones and points, when you return to your residences, every room has a wall carved with text. Inside is everything you want to know. Everyone go back and look carefully."

"Alright, time is tight. Everyone go back. Seize the time for your Breakthrough, because bigger challenges will come soon," Tang Waner said sternly.

"Sister Waner, what exactly is the challenge?" a young girl asked curiously.

Tang Waner smiled slightly and said: "I won't tell you yet. You only need to know that the stronger your strength, the better development you can get, and the more resources you can obtain."

"Conversely, if your strength is weak, you can only be bullied in the branch. So if we want to be strong, we must work hard."

Watching everyone return to their Immortal Caves to cultivate, Tang Waner looked at the empty space in front of her and said to Long Chen: "Why is it that when I say things, they don't have as much infectious power as you do?"

Tang Waner remembered that day, when Long Chen said a few casual words, and it made everyone's blood boil, and even the fear of death faded a lot.

She had originally wanted to boost everyone's morale, but she could never learn how. In the end, it felt neither here nor there, making people lose heart.

Long Chen laughed and said: "That's because your skin isn't thick enough. It's called drinking until you don't recognize your relatives, and bragging until even you don't believe it. Young lady, you still need to cultivate."

Tang Waner glared at the smug-looking Long Chen and said angrily: "Laugh, laugh. If you don't want the top-grade Ten Thousand Beast Essence Blood, then just keep laughing here. I'm going back."

After Tang Waner finished speaking, she walked into the Immortal Cave. Qing Yu covered her mouth and snickered on the side. Long Chen was stunned.

"Top-grade Ten Thousand Beast Essence Blood?"

Long Chen finally realized and hurriedly followed her in.
