Brand-New Magic
Since the release of this chat app, Noah had watched it for a week before gradually stopping his close observation.
Because all the backend data showed that its operation and growth had been exceptionally strong.
Quite a few wizards felt that Noah had been merciful to charge only ten Sickles for the app. Even Noah himself wondered whether he had set the price too low.
After the app performed brilliantly in the British magical world, it immediately drew the attention of other Ministries of Magic. Quite a few even sent special envoys to negotiate.
The Ministry of Magic in Europe, being relatively close, simply sent its Minister over personally once again.
Noah had no reason to refuse, but due to issues with the app’s control system terminal, it could not cover every Ministry of Magic around the world.
Everyone found that slightly regrettable, but Noah did not dwell on it.
Noah could now be considered one of the wealthiest people in the magical world. After developing this app by taking inspiration from a certain company from his previous life, it had immediately become a terrifying money-making machine.
Under Noah’s deliberate guidance, advertisements from all kinds of magical shops began appearing on it.
More and more people even began trying electronic transactions. The days of carrying Galleons, Sickles, and Knuts around with them were basically gone for good.
At Noah’s urging, quite a few restaurants joined in as well, and a new term rose up in the magical world—food delivery.
That was right. Many wizards who were especially skilled at Apparition joined the ranks of food delivery workers while having fun with it.
Of course, those people commanded very high wages. Ordinary shops truly could not afford to hire them. Most preferred using the Floo Network instead—appearing through chimneys.
But appearing through chimneys was rather appetite-killing.
Who knew which family’s chimney was filthy? The food they ordered could end up completely unrecognizable because of the soot accumulated inside it.
Still, this novel method became increasingly popular, especially among those who were busy with work.
After settling all those profitable ventures, Noah negotiated with Gringotts once more.
Once it was decided that WeChat could take five percent from every transaction, Noah stopped paying much attention to the app’s development.
Other than posting one message every week, he threw all his energy into research.
It had to be said that with Charles’s assistance, Noah’s research on dragons had sped up by an unknown amount.
It made Noah realize somewhat sadly that his ability to conduct research really did not compare to those professionals.
But Noah was not too discouraged. In his eyes, he was more of a combatant than a researcher.
Even though he had read countless books as a combatant, aside from those that taught him how to conduct himself, they were mostly about magical applications and techniques, along with the strengths and weaknesses of various creatures.
"Looks like we’re really about to succeed."
Looking at the continuously running data on the computer, as well as the images that had already been assembled together, Charles showed a faint smile.
After joining Noah’s research group for several years, he could finally see the shadow of success.
"For now, it seems that way, but it’s hard to say what will actually happen." Noah rubbed his chin. To be honest, he was quite excited too.
From the beginning of the new millennium until now, from when Noah was twenty until now that he was already twenty-seven, he had continued this research for seven years.
Most importantly, he had been stuck at the peak of Level 9, Tier 6 for a full seven years.
Sometimes, he truly regretted obtaining Carol’s mutated bloodline back then. More importantly, why had he wasted the power of the Time Stone?
Although Noah’s mindset remained good, since many wizards had been stuck for ten times longer than him.
But Noah, who had always had everything go smoothly, could hardly stand such a sudden setback. Fortunately, although his level was stuck, the growth of his magical power and mental strength had never stopped.
Moreover, Noah had discovered something: when his body could no longer contain so much magical power and mental strength, those powers actually began refining themselves.
This refinement made his magical power and mental strength tougher and more powerful. But after being used to a life where everything went smoothly and he could break through just by looking at the clouds, suddenly being forced into normal mode—who could stand that?
But it did not matter. At least Noah had come up with a method and had begun trying it.
Whether it succeeded or failed, it was better than Noah doing nothing at all.
Noah was not Carol, with so much power of the Space Stone contained within his body. Nor was he Thor, who possessed more advanced methods of physical training.
Though he had ruined those things himself.
"Whatever. I’ll try it first. Even if it fails, I can ask my teacher to arrange a trip to Asgard, right?"
Noah shook his head and stopped thinking about how he had dug his own grave in the past.
A peak Level 9, Tier 6 wizard was basically an unbeatable existence on Earth, as long as he did not do anything stupid.
Of course, that was only true for now. The future was harder to say. He was not someone like Captain America or Tony, lucky enough not to necessarily get beaten to death even when facing Thanos.
Thor, who had been a little less fortunate, had nearly died, hadn’t he? If he had not run into the Guardians of the Galaxy.
His fate probably would not have been much different from Loki, who had been strangled to death on the spot—his corpse drifting through the universe before finally entering history’s garbage heap.
"Are you ready, Noah?" Charles looked at the silent Noah and could not help asking, "And are you really not planning to find a test subject?"
"A test subject?" Noah shook his head. "That would turn this into live experimentation. I’m not a Dark wizard, much less an evil wizard. Even volunteers would be at risk."
"All right." Charles nodded. He did not want that to happen either. "Then how are your safety measures?"
"My teacher will be here soon." Noah smiled. Without safeguards, what the hell would he be doing this for?
Since WeChat had been released, Kamar-Taj had created a massive group chat that included every wizard in Kamar-Taj.
That group went off day and night without pause. Later, perhaps because many people realized that was not good, they created many smaller groups themselves.
Ordinary matters were discussed in those smaller groups, or people directly contacted whoever they wanted to find.
Noah himself had several small groups, such as one for the brothers and another for the students he taught.
But if something major happened, it could be discussed in the main group. Noah had originally planned to speak to The Ancient One privately about this matter.
But then he remembered that this magic was meant to compete for the Kamar-Taj Magic Award, so he simply mentioned it in the main group.
The result was that every wizard in Kamar-Taj found out, and it sparked heated discussion.
Almost every wizard wanted Noah to record a video and post it there. Some even wanted to come watch.
The Ancient One naturally noticed the message as well. She immediately said she would personally come and provide Noah with protection.
So Noah was not too worried. As for recording a video, he did not object, but he refused to let people come watch.
Everyone was busy, after all. They should not waste their time on this. It was not because Noah was afraid of embarrassing himself.
"Are you ready, Noah?" Just as Noah’s thoughts wandered, a voice suddenly sounded by his ear.
When he turned around, he saw that a pale golden halo had appeared beside him at some point. A figure stepped out of it, and everyone present immediately showed respect, because she was The Ancient One.
"I’m basically ready, Teacher." Noah nodded. He truly was ready. He had only been waiting for The Ancient One to arrive.
"Oh? Evan, Kate, and Luns are here too?" After glancing around, The Ancient One looked at Noah. "Are you confident?"
"More or less." Noah scratched his head. "If it doesn’t work, I may really have to trouble you to send me to Asgard."
"No problem." The Ancient One maintained her smile. "But I have a feeling that you’ll succeed."
Would he succeed?
Noah shook his head. He hoped so.
If only the magic succeeded, but it did not feed back into his current body, then it would still be a failure.
But there was no need for Noah to overthink it now. With The Ancient One and the system as two major safeguards, he had nothing to worry about.
"Thank you, Teacher. Let’s begin." Noah took a deep breath, then spoke seriously to The Ancient One.
"Good luck." The Ancient One nodded. Golden radiance spread from her hands, and then the entire space shattered like glass.
Soon, everything returned to its original state as though time had rewound. Once The Ancient One had finished, Noah walked straight out of the Sanctum.
Mirror space. Noah intended to conduct this experiment in Mirror space.
But he could not use his own Mirror space. As the main caster of the magic, if Noah suddenly passed out from being unable to withstand the power while transforming.
Then the Mirror space would shatter as well. If an unconscious dragon suddenly fell from the sky and appeared in the Muggle world, that would be more than just a disaster.
"Noah, good luck."
When they reached the street, Evan and the others suddenly called out to Noah.
As some of the few people permitted to watch, Evan and the other two had participated in this research as researchers, so naturally they had followed along. Now, they were cheering Noah on.
"Thanks, guys."
Noah nodded, then took a deep breath.
Soon, Noah took a test tube filled with blood from his spatial pouch, and his magical power began flowing into it.
