canyon

Qin Ming nodded. "Indeed. However, the rules of my sect dictate that I must be able to refine High Grade sixth-grade medicinal pills before I can advance to Pill Emperor, and I am still falling short."

"Coming to this Secret Realm this time, I wanted to find some ninth-grade spirit plants I haven't seen before to study thoroughly, so I can complete my sect's mission."

"Studying ninth-grade spirit plants?" Yang Quan nodded. He didn't know how an Alchemist should advance either; perhaps studying spirit plants was one avenue. He decided that after returning to Yang City, he would have his Family's Alchemists try studying spirit plants to see if it helped.

The methods for an Alchemist to improve were inherently strange and varied. Perhaps the method of studying spirit plants was unique to Green Cliff Elder's sect. Trying it out to see if it helped couldn't hurt—what if it actually did?

"We've walked out of the forest." Qin Ming looked at the canyon before him, his expression heavy.

This canyon was shrouded in thick fog, with several Passages leading into it. From within the canyon, Qin Ming could sense waves of dangerous auras.

Yang Quan looked at the canyon ahead, his expression turning sour.

Although he didn't sense any dangerous auras, the entrance to the canyon was only two people wide. How were his twenty Martial Kings supposed to maneuver in there?

The twenty Martial Kings of his Family needed to coordinate; if they couldn't even maneuver, how could they coordinate?

"Young Master, what should we do?" A Martial King walked up to Yang Quan and asked.

"Yang Jun, take a few men and circle around this canyon to see if there is another path," Yang Quan ordered.

"Yes." The middle-aged Martial King named Yang Jun immediately took a few men and circled toward one direction of the canyon.

Qin Ming carefully examined the canyon and also waited for those Martial Kings to return. He didn't want to enter the canyon either, but it blocked the road to the high tower. If there was no other path, they would have to go through here to reach it.

After waiting for a long time, the Martial Kings finally returned.

"Young Master, there is no path around the canyon. This canyon stretches on endlessly. I used my fastest Spirit Skill and traveled for a long time, but I still couldn't see the end."

Yang Jun reported with his head bowed, "Should I go check the other side?"

"No need." Yang Quan stared at the canyon before him and said, "Since this canyon is here, I guessed that we must pass through it to reach the high tower. Since there is no other path on one side, it should be the same on the other. Let's not waste any more time."

"Brother Qing, this canyon is very strange. I don't have absolute certainty even if I go in." Yang Quan cupped his hands toward Qin Ming.

Qin Ming nodded. He understood what Yang Quan meant. In the forest, Yang Quan was confident he could protect them, which was why he had invited him along.

But now, even Yang Quan didn't have a hundred percent certainty of avoiding any mishaps himself, let alone protecting others. So, telling Qin Ming now was to prepare him mentally.

This would avoid a situation where he failed to protect Qin Ming after entering, causing him to get hurt, which might lead to Qin Ming blaming him and causing awkwardness or unpleasantness.

"It's fine, you don't need to worry about me." Qin Ming looked at the Twins again. "Do you want to come in with me? Although I haven't entered, I can already sense the danger inside. I cannot guarantee I will remain unscathed in there, let alone you two."

The two women looked at each other, and the older sister revealed a determined gaze, saying, "We will go in! It is too dangerous outside; staying out here is certain death. We only hope that once inside, you can help us a little, provided that you are safe yourself."

Qin Ming nodded. "Then let's go in. Remember not to stray too far from me."

After the group agreed, they walked boldly into the canyon. They were all Martial Artists; although they feared danger, they would not shrink back because of it.

If one retreated because of danger, lacking the heart of a Martial Artist, how could one ever become a Supreme Expert?

Of course, the two women were exceptions; they were both trembling with fear. Especially the younger sister of the Twins, whose eyes turned red looking at the canyon, and she was gripping her sister's hand tightly, shaking slightly.

Regardless of how afraid the two women were, they, along with Qin Ming and the others, still walked into the fog-shrouded canyon.
