Carl’s New Body
Raina had not come alone. She had also brought Daniel Whitehall.
She was only a broker, and finding a private plane that could come pick up Carl as quickly as possible, then completing all the legal departure procedures, was truly no easy task.
Carl clearly would not live much longer, so naturally, she had sought out the most powerful force in her circle of friends—Hydra!
Because of Jiaying, Carl was filled with hatred for Whitehall, but she no longer had any choice. Even if she was making a deal with the devil, she could only cooperate with Whitehall.
On the way here, Raina had told Whitehall all the information she knew.
Although the members of Hydra often cooperated with one another, they would not share certain core intelligence. Or rather, they would not share it before receiving sufficient compensation.
For example, the secret of Whitehall’s immortality.
And the secret of Hive.
Therefore, Whitehall only knew that his Graviton Warrior had been taken away. He did not know that the one who had taken Daisy was another branch of Hydra.
Hydra had always been the one robbing others. How could they be robbed?
How could they tolerate that?
"Carl, I can help you rescue your daughter, but you must convince your daughter to join us. And you will be the hostage."
Carl agreed without a second word. He would rescue his wife and daughter first; if it did not work out, he could always rebel later.
"But I’m almost dead. I can’t be your hostage."
"Don’t worry about that. We naturally have a way." Whitehall smiled mysteriously.
A group of Hydra agents came over, placed Carl inside a medical pod, and carried her onto the plane for treatment. Whitehall, meanwhile, led another group of people in thoroughly looting all the information from the Inhuman gathering point and packing it up to take away.
Hive had no need for these Inhumans’ information. He only wanted the Inhumans themselves and the Terrigen Crystal. Everything else was meaningless to him. As a result, all those things now benefited Whitehall.
Only after everything had been looted did Whitehall board the plane with Raina, returning to the Hydra base.
Relying on Hydra’s medical pod technology, Carl successfully reached the base alive, but her injuries were too severe. She was practically at her limit.
After Hydra’s doctors carefully examined Carl, they were astonished. "She should have died long ago, but she actually used her powerful will to resist death’s summons and cling to life until now."
Whitehall nodded knowingly. He picked up the internal communicator and issued several orders, then said to the doctors, "Take her to the laboratory. The Astral Energy shield of the battle armor needs an experimental subject like her."
Using living people for human experiments was routine in Hydra. The doctors did not hesitate in the slightest. They immediately carried out the order and pushed Carl away.
When Carl opened her eyes again, she found that she could not move her body at all. Aside from blinking, she could open her mouth, but no sound came out. Moreover, she seemed not to be breathing.
Other than that, she could do nothing. She could not feel the condition of her hands or feet at all, and her visual perspective was also extremely strange.
"Carl, can you hear me? Have you regained consciousness?" Whitehall appeared in front of Carl and waved his hand before her eyes. "If you can hear me, blink."
Carl blinked, then saw Whitehall smile. "Very good. Next, we’re going to conduct an experiment, and you need to cooperate. If everything goes smoothly, you’ll be able to speak very soon."
He waved to someone behind him. A Magnetic Field Warrior came over and stopped beside Carl.
Carl’s vision was restricted, so she did not know what the person had done. But she found that her viewpoint suddenly rose, reaching the same height as the Magnetic Field Warrior, and then stood shoulder to shoulder with him. Strangely enough, though, their heads seemed far too close together!
Before she could figure out what was happening, Whitehall gave an order, and the Magnetic Field Warrior began circulating his Magnetic Field Force.
At the same time, Carl suddenly sensed this powerful force as well. Moreover, she seemed to be able to control it.
Whitehall smiled at Carl. "Now, try forming this energy into an energy shield outside your body. As for the specific method, follow the instructions in this video."
As he spoke, he placed a tablet computer in front of Carl. A video on it was explaining in detail how to construct an energy shield called ‘Ultimate Protective Qi.’
Carl had been a doctor and was extremely familiar with the structure of the human body. She had also lived in China for many years and was highly proficient in Chinese. In addition, she had previously learned Ultimate Limit Qigong from her daughter, Daisy. Therefore, using Ultimate Protective Qi was not very difficult for her.
Very soon, she learned the principles of Ultimate Protective Qi. Then, relying on the energy she could control, she successfully constructed an Astral Energy shield outside her body.
"Excellent!" Whitehall was overjoyed. "Let’s test the defensive strength of this energy shield! Carl, you must maintain the shield with all your strength and keep it from breaking. This is very important. It determines whether we can rescue your daughter. Do you understand?"
Carl blinked again to indicate her answer.
Whitehall waved his hand, and a person wearing Fifty Heavens Strong Magnetic Armor stepped forward. Carrying Carl and the others, he flew into outer space and unleashed a barrage of attacks toward them.
With every strike, Carl felt the pressure brought by the shield’s vibrations, but the pressure was not particularly great. Carl endured it with ease.
The other party attacked for more than half an hour, but still failed to break the Astral Energy maintained by Carl. He had no choice but to give up and carry them back to the base to report on the mission.
"Very good, Carl. Try using this Magnetic Field Force to vibrate the air and produce sound."
There was no video guidance this time, but fortunately, the method was very simple. After trying many times, Carl finally grasped the trick and was able to speak successfully.
"When… are we… going to rescue… Daisy?" Carl’s voice was still somewhat slow and distorted.
"The other party is hiding very well. We have to wait until we find him. Believe me, Carl, I can’t wait for Daisy to return either. I’m even more anxious than you are."
After saying that, Whitehall abruptly changed the subject.
"Carl, you need to prepare yourself mentally. Your previous body was too severely necrotic to save. So we gave you a new body, but it may be somewhat different from what you imagined. I hope you can adapt to it as quickly as possible."
"It doesn’t matter. As long as I can save Daisy, I can accept any body." Carl’s heart now held only her wife and daughter. Everything else was irrelevant.
"Your current body was created through Life Cradle Technology, which successfully combined Vibranium with human cells. It possesses both Vibranium’s indestructible nature and the vitality of human cells."
"The only problem is that it was made in the shape of battle armor!"
Whitehall took a mirror from the side and placed it in front of Carl.
Carl looked up. Inside the mirror stood a Magnetic Field Warrior wearing battle armor.
However, this Magnetic Field Warrior had two heads. The one in the middle was her own, while the one on the left, grown together with the battle armor, belonged to Carl.
