Catch them all in one swoop, Contracted Griffin King (6000)

Cao Xing alone was now enough to wipe out this Griffin nest in a short time.

Beside him, Alan, having watched him cast this forbidden spell from start to finish, was completely stunned!

Only a fellow mage would know just how terrifying the magic Cao Xing had just unleashed was!

Even if he unleashed his full power right now, it wouldn't even be one percent of this spell!

He gripped his staff tighter once more!

This young mage did not feel discouraged; instead, he secretly swore to himself.

He must study magic even harder and strive to catch up to the Lord's footsteps!

Meanwhile, as the forbidden spell ended, there were no more obstacles ahead.

Even the entrance to the Griffin nest ahead had been completely covered because the mountain had been destroyed, trapping a large number of Griffins inside before they could escape.

This was exactly the result Cao Xing wanted to achieve.

After casting this terrifying forbidden spell, he felt his mental energy drained.

Cao Xing quickly took out a drop of [Premium Sap (Gold)] from his backpack.

After recovering his energy, he quickly said: "All Centaurs, pilot the Goblin Airship and wait for us here."

"Chuchu, continue leading us forward, straight to the Griffin nest!"

Once he finished speaking, the Goblin Airship dashed toward the entrance of the Griffin nest at maximum speed.

"Buzz, buzz, buzz—" The propellers spun rapidly.

In less than two minutes, they flew to the entrance of the Griffin nest, which was buried under various boulders and soil.

Muffled thumping sounds could be heard from inside from time to time. It seemed there were many powerful creatures inside trying to break out of the cave entrance.

Cao Xing opened the cabin door directly and then said: "Victoria, use Qi Wave to open the entrance."

"Understood!" The moment she heard the order, this Qi Empress stood at the cabin entrance, and powerful Qi condensed in her hands!

As she continued to condense it, the Qi in her hands gradually took on a destructive aura. Then, she pushed both hands forward!

A massive Qi Wave blasted toward the mountain below like a cannonball. "Boom!"

The mountain trembled violently once again! A massive gap was blasted directly into the ruins at the entrance. One could see a faint light appearing inside.

"Braum, go guard the nest entrance. Don't let a single Griffin out!"

"Everyone else, follow behind Braum and go down together!" Hearing the order, over a hundred people jumped down.

Braum instantly entered his Ice Giant form. Then, he leaped forward! Like a destructive meteor, he plummeted rapidly toward the ground.

His massive shield, carrying immense force, plunged directly into the cave. Everyone else followed Braum, swarming in through the gap Victoria had blasted open.

In an instant, chaos erupted inside! Braum raised his shield and activated [Giant's Roar], a group taunt skill, stalling a large number of Griffins.

These Griffins launched various frantic attacks against him. Sharp claws struck his shield like lightning, emitting sharp clanging sounds. Sharp beaks, like swords, stabbed at Braum repeatedly.

However, the big guy stood firmly there, facing the Griffins' storm-like attacks without retreating a single step!

At this moment, Cao Xing had also rushed in and immediately observed the situation inside the Griffin nest.

The space inside was indeed very large, like a massive stone grotto, with rocks and hay intertwined to form a rough nest structure. In the corners, there were some unhatched eggs. These were a large number of Griffin eggs!

A look of surprise and joy appeared in Cao Xing's eyes. "Very good, to think there are so many Griffins here!" "And so many Griffin eggs, we've struck it rich!"

However, the number of Griffins inside didn't seem to be the entirety of the nest. There were only sixty or seventy adult Griffins, and the rest were young ones.

Moreover, he didn't sense any overly powerful auras among them. This meant the Griffin King was not home.

At this moment, as Sarah, Victoria, Hilda, and the others entered, the Griffins inside immediately stood ready for battle.

Because they could also sense the terror of this group! Not to mention the group of individuals, each with incredibly dangerous auras, they felt they couldn't even defeat one of the hundred-plus Silver Hand Knights in front of them!

Cao Xing said: "Go ahead, subdue these Griffins." "After beating these Griffins into a heavily injured state, use the large capture nets to trap them immediately."

"But be careful during the fight; don't destroy the Griffin eggs inside." Everyone began to take action.

Meanwhile, the duration of Braum's [Giant's Roar] ended. Those dozens of Griffins bypassed him and charged toward the people behind him.

However, the Silver Hand Knights had already met them head-on. One of the elite-level captains, temporarily promoted by Cao Xing, ordered: "All knights, form ranks! Block these Griffins!"

Instantly, all the Silver Hand Knights raised their round shields, lifted their spears with their right hands, and assumed a defensive stance. "Bang! Bang, bang!"

The Griffins' fierce attacks landed on their shields, knocking the Silver Hand Knights back several steps. Furthermore, the Holy Shields on their bodies shattered as a result.

However, they quickly steadied themselves. The knight captain shouted: "Thrust!" The next moment, all the knights thrust their spears forward with force!

"Pfft! Pfft, pfft, pfft!" The bodies of many Griffins were pierced by the spears, emitting shrill cries. "Launch them into the air!"

All the knights applied force instantly. These dozens of Griffins suddenly felt a massive force hit them, and they were all launched into the air simultaneously. Taking advantage of their instability.

The captain continued to order, "Advance! Herd all the Griffins together and form a perimeter. Don't let them escape!"

Once he finished speaking, the hundred knights advanced in an orderly fashion once more, pressing forward step by step. They compressed the Griffins' range of movement.

Seeing this, a look of admiration appeared in Cao Xing's eyes. These Silver Hand Knights had quite rich combat experience. Their coordination at this moment was also quite perfect.

Cao Xing continued: "Braum, Assam, Andrew, the three of you block the entrance area. Don't let the Griffins inside run away." "Everyone else, go ahead, beat these Griffins until they are low on health, but be careful not to kill them."

Hearing the order, the core combatants behind Cao Xing swarmed forward. Every single one of them had at least Tier 6 Leader-level combat power.

Dealing with the enemies before them was like a tiger entering a flock of sheep! Sarah and Herlie didn't even need to hide their figures; they fought head-on, rushing into the Griffin flock and cutting down adult Griffins one by one on the spot.

Meanwhile, Renice, Elisa, and other archers kept drawing their bowstrings from the back, dealing massive damage of twenty to thirty thousand each time.

While quickly reducing the Griffins' health, they also struck vital spots whenever the Griffins prepared to release skills, preventing them from using various area-of-effect abilities.

"Swish! Swish, swish!" The Griffin flock's health dropped at a visible rate. The battle could be described as a landslide victory; these Griffins had absolutely no ability to resist.

In just six minutes, most of the adult Griffins inside had been beaten into a heavily injured state, their attack speed and movement speed significantly reduced.

Quite a few Griffins had even fallen in pools of blood, entering a near-death state. However, that didn't matter. As long as they joined Cao Xing's camp, he could restore them to their peak state in a short time.

The young Griffins in the back still wanted to rush over and join the battle. Cao Xing directly released over a dozen ice walls, isolating them. Children shouldn't interfere in adult battles.

Seeing that the battle on the field was almost over, Cao Xing quickly ordered: "Start throwing the capture nets." The warriors quickly pulled out strange devices from their waists.

"Bang~! Bang, bang!" Large beast-capture nets were ejected, enveloping the Griffins on the ground. Trapped in the large nets, they struggled frantically, emitting angry screeches.

However, these large nets were specially customized by Harold. Not only were they extremely sturdy, but they were also coated with Nightmare Poison; the more they struggled, the faster the poison would permeate their entire bodies.

Soon, these Griffins lost the strength to struggle one by one. It looked like all the Griffins in the entire Griffin nest were about to be rounded up!

Just at this moment, Cao Xing heard a high-pitched cry! "Screech—" This sound carried extreme piercing power, even making people feel pain in their eardrums!

Cao Xing suddenly turned around and looked intently. At a glance, he saw a large number of figures appearing on the cliff outside the cave! These were exactly the Griffins that had gone out foraging.

There were also a few Griffins that had just been smashed to the bottom of the mountain by Cao Xing's forbidden spell, escaping the fate of being instantly killed. Sensing danger at the nest, they all rushed back, each carrying a vicious aura!

Leading them was a figure with extremely massive size, covered in dark blue feathers. Its wingspan alone exceeded twenty meters!

Before it even got close, one could feel that it was far more terrifying than the other Griffins in the nest. In Cao Xing's senses, this Griffin had at least Tier 6 Commander-level strength!

"Is this the leader of the Griffin flock?" His gaze became slightly serious.

Meanwhile, Braum had already raised his shield. Beside him, Assam also drew his longsword, ready for battle! A Tier 6 Commander-level creature was still extremely formidable to them!

Moreover, at least thirty-plus adult Griffins were following behind. This was a quite powerful force. The big guys wanted to block the Griffins outside from entering the nest.

But Cao Xing said: "Let them in!" Hearing the order, Braum, Assam, and the others guarding the nest stepped aside without hesitation.

The massive Griffin, carrying a destructive momentum, was rapidly approaching! It covered the distance of one or two kilometers in a few seconds. In the blink of an eye, it arrived at the cave entrance.

"Boom!" With a dull, loud bang, the ruins at the entrance were blasted open by its powerful physique. An aura radiating extremely strong wildness and viciousness burst in.

Cao Xing was the first to see a pair of blood-red eyes! Those eyes were burning with raging fury, sweeping across the entire nest. This was the Griffin King of the flock!

When this Griffin King noticed the Griffins in the nest tied up like twists of dough in the capture nets, a terrifying rage erupted from within it!

"Skreeee—"

A powerful sound wave swept out like a tidal wave, cracking the dozen or so ice walls Cao Xing had released.

Meanwhile, the Griffin troop following behind the Griffin King had also charged in!

The battle was on the verge of breaking out!

Cao Xing knew that this kind of monster was difficult to communicate with.

So he said directly, "Sarah, go deal with this Griffin King."

"Everyone else, use the old method: beat the other Griffins into a heavily injured state, then throw the capture nets."

Hearing Cao Xing's order,

Sarah, Herlie, and the other powerhouses swarmed forward!

The Griffin King swung its thick, massive talons, launching a fierce attack at them.

However, apart from being a few levels lower than this Griffin King, Sarah completely overwhelmed it in every other aspect.

"Swish!"

The talons carried a loud sound that tore through the air, yet they dodged them easily.

And with a backhand, they landed a series of attacks on the Griffin King.

Shadow Strike!

Night Claw!

Night Phantom Slash!

…

As a Tier 6 boss-level creature, the beast-eared girl Herlie now had an attack power of around 17,000 after the blessing bonuses.

Even after the Griffin King's armor reduction, she still dealt terrifying damage with every hit.

On the other side, Sarah was even more terrifying!

She didn't dodge or evade at all.

With [Moonlight Dance] activated, she went head-to-head with the Griffin King.

Arc Flash!

Death Dance Combo!

Shadow Bloom!

Coup de Grâce!

One terrifying damage number after another appeared.

Sarah's base attack power had already exceeded 20,000, and with [Blessing of Courage] and [Blessing of Strength], it reached a staggering 27,000!

Plus, with her terrifying critical hit rate and Coup de Grâce.

It pushed this assassin's damage output to a near-abnormal level.

Furthermore, because of Sarah's terrifying attack speed, often by the time the Griffin King landed one claw strike on her, Sarah had already finished casting a skill.

As one terrifying attack after another landed,

the Griffin King's nearly 3 million HP was plummeting at a terrifying rate!

In less than two minutes of fighting,

its HP had been slashed by a million by Sarah and Herlie working together!

The Griffin King was incredibly frustrated.

Although it had many powerful ultimate moves,

this was the Griffin nest, so it couldn't unleash them, otherwise it would destroy the Griffin eggs inside.

So it fought with hesitation.

Sarah, however, had no such concerns.

She was already invincible in one-on-one combat, and all her skills were single-target.

At this moment, she was suppressing the Griffin King.

"Pfft! Pfft, pfft!"

Huge gashes were sliced open on the Griffin King's body by short blades.

About six minutes later,

all the other adult Griffins on the field had been subdued.

Only the Griffin King remained, putting up a desperate final struggle.

Furthermore, it was facing a dozen opponents who could crush it even in a one-on-one fight.

The rest of the battle naturally had no suspense.

Another two minutes passed, and the Griffin King's nearly 3 million HP was beaten down until only a little over 100,000 remained.

Its body was covered in wounds, and its dark blue feathers were stained with blood.

The Griffin King looked despairingly at the woman standing before it.

By now, its HP had bottomed out.

Yet the woman in front of it hadn't even lost 300,000 HP, and it was still recovering at a terrifying speed.

It looked like it was about to be full again.

This sight was truly despair-inducing.

Finally, the Griffin King's massive body seemed unable to hold up any longer, and it collapsed, on the verge of death.

"Boom…"

Seeing this situation, Cao Xing knew it was time.

So he said, "Fire the capture nets, trap the Griffin King."

"Bang! Bang, bang!"

With a series of launch sounds, over a dozen large nets were cast onto its body.

The Griffin King was tied up like a pretzel.

With that, the battle had completely ended.

The noise in the entire Griffin nest ceased.

Even the young Griffins had been tied up like pretzels, huddled into a ball.

Although Cao Xing didn't let anyone harm the young Griffins, he had used capture nets to trap them all.

He counted carefully; in the entire Griffin nest,

including the Griffin King, there were 106 adult Griffins and 32 young Griffins.

Among them, there were about 27 Griffin eggs!

After getting these numbers, Cao Xing felt incredibly satisfied!

The staggering amount of wealth this represented went without saying!

"This time, we've really caught them all in one net, haha."

In a happy mood, Cao Xing walked towards the Griffin King.

However, its avian eyes still held a look of arrogance and hatred.

That gaze seemed to want nothing more than to swallow Cao Xing whole!

Cao Xing knew that this kind of creature could not be made to submit through ordinary means.

So without wasting words, he directly unleashed his trump card!

Soul-Sinking Incense!

However, before that, Cao Xing had one more problem.

That was, he didn't have fire with him and couldn't light the Soul-Sinking Incense.

Come to think of it, fire sources in this world were truly scarce.

Even in those villages, towns, and large cities, if one wanted to get fire, one had to go to fixed fire-starting points in the city.

Otherwise, one had to find a way to keep the stove at home burning at all times.

Because once it went out, it was very difficult to light it again.

That was why the Survivor's campfire was so magical in the eyes of these natives.

At the same time, this was also why there were no Fire Mage scrolls available for exchange in the shops.

Because any school of mages needed to control elemental power.

In this world, fire elements were extremely inactive and impossible to control, let alone becoming a Fire Mage.

Of course, if there really were such a magical genius who could become a Fire Mage in this world barren of fire elements,

then they would be extremely powerful!

Because most creatures in this world would be countered by them.

However, all things have their mutual generation and restriction.

Who said fire could definitely defeat ice?

Cao Xing shook his head.

"Andrew, help me light a fire."

The druid was stunned for a moment, but immediately understood something.

He switched directly to Moonkin form.

And to prevent burning the entire Griffin nest, he cast [Moonfire] directly onto a piece of wood nearby.

"Sss… sss…"

A tiny flame appeared.

Cao Xing walked over and lit the Soul-Sinking Incense in his hand.

Since the air circulation near the cliff was relatively fast,

Cao Xing had the Earth Mage Tyren nearby manipulate the mountain to temporarily bury the cave entrance.

"Rumble…"

As the soil at the entrance moved, the entire interior space of the nest became dim.

Everyone also took out their magic torches.

A ghostly blue light illuminated the entire nest.

As the Soul-Sinking Incense continued to take effect,

a peculiar fragrance wafted around everyone's noses.

The beast-eared assassin nearby revealed herself from the darkness, lifting her little head to sniff the scent in the air.

"Sniff, sniff… sniff, sniff…"

"What is this? Such a fragrant smell, this Feiying almost fell asleep!"

Elisa nearby also stood there groggily.

"It really is fragrant… so sleepy…"

"Elisa is going to fall asleep…"

If Cao Xing's combatants were like this, let alone those Griffins.

After all, the Soul-Sinking Incense was developed specifically for Griffins.

Under the influence of this scent, they also became drowsy.

Less than two or three minutes passed.

Those young Griffins all fell asleep.

Then came the elite and boss-level adult Griffins.

They struggled to open their eyelids, doing their best to resist the drowsiness.

However, they also didn't last until the fifth minute before falling asleep.

Only the commander-level Griffin King was still struggling hard.

Low growls came from its mouth, as if it would rather die than submit.

"Goo… goo…"

However, after ten minutes passed,

this Griffin King finally couldn't hold on and closed its eyelids.

A smile appeared on the corner of Cao Xing's mouth.

"That Master-level Beast Tamer was right after all."

"The Soul-Sinking Incense can work on the Griffin King!"

"Now, I must seize the time to form contracts with these Griffins."

Thinking of this, Cao Xing also walked over quickly, preparing to initiate the contract.

However, to contract this kind of Griffin King, one needed to use a [Master-level Pet Contract Scroll], which could increase the success rate.

Fortunately, Cao Xing had purchased two from that Master-level Beast Tamer earlier.

[Do you wish to use a Master-level Pet Contract Scroll on the Griffin King Lv61, a Tier 7 commander-level creature? The success rate is 55%~65%.]

"Yes."

[Contract failed…]

…

Cao Xing was stunned, "Hmm? It failed even with a success rate of over 50%?"

There was only one Master-level Pet Contract Scroll left in his backpack.

If this failed again, he would have to use Expert-level scrolls and gamble on the probability.

"But fortunately, I made full preparations before coming out this time; I brought hundreds of Expert-level scrolls."

"Although the success rate of taming this kind of Master-level creature using Expert-level scrolls is very low,"

"the advantage is that I have a large quantity of scrolls in my backpack."

"Even if I have to pile them up, I will make you my pet!"

So, Cao Xing proceeded to use the second Master-level Pet Scroll.

However, this time the contract seemed to go smoothly.

As the scroll in his hand disappeared,

a peculiar mental connection linked him and the Griffin King before him.

Cao Xing once again felt the anger, sadness, and despair in the Griffin King's heart.

A system notification appeared.

[Ding! Congratulations, contract successful!]

[The Griffin King Lv61, a Tier 7 commander-level creature, has joined your territory. Territory population +5, Prosperity +150.]

…

"Haha, success!"

Cao Xing was pleasantly surprised.

In a Griffin clan, the most important thing is the Griffin King.

As long as the Griffin King is successfully contracted, everything else will be easy to handle!
