Chaos

"Chapter 369: Chaos"

"Tch, the space really doesn’t leave any loopholes to exploit."

After Human Path sealed a large barrel of blood into a Sealing Scroll, he looked at Banner, who was still being bled, and stepped forward to heal his wounds with Medical Ninjutsu.

They had finally gained enough favorability before General Ross and the others arrived. Then, under the pretext of "bloodletting therapy," they successfully persuaded Banner to undergo this primitive-looking treatment.

Banner had initially been somewhat resistant, but he soon discovered that after the special bloodletting treatment conducted under Master Belnar’s guidance and assistance, his mind truly became completely empty. And despite losing blood, he only grew more energetic.

As a scientist, he had no idea how any of this worked, but that did not stop him from trying.

Meanwhile, Human Path Pain frantically healed Banner with Yang Release while drawing large amounts of his blood when his mind entered an "ethereal" state of Unity of Heaven and Man, leaving him unaware of the outside world.

Still, just like when he had extracted spinal fluid in Attack Titan, once he had obtained a certain quantity, the space issued a prompt that no more valid items could be acquired.

But the gains should have been quite good. After all, this was original plasma, surely far more valuable than the mass-producible cloned plasma that would come later.

Once everything had been collected, Xu Yue awakened Banner from Unity of Heaven and Man again.

When Banner opened his eyes, he seemed to have entered sage mode. His face was utterly tranquil as he pressed his palms together and bowed to Xu Yue.

"Thank you for your help, Master. I think… I have understood what you meant."

Although he had no idea what Banner had comprehended in sage mode, Pain of the Human Path still wore an unfathomable smile, looking as though the student was worth teaching.

"Since that is the case, then—"

Just as Human Path Pain was about to send Banner away and notify his main body that it was time to head home, his expression suddenly tightened.

"It seems someone has come looking for you."

After receiving Xu Yue’s warning, Banner was briefly stunned before his expression turned grave.

He hurriedly opened his portable computer and used backdoor programs he had long ago planted in nearby surveillance systems to pull up the footage. Sure enough, he spotted several figures moving as swiftly as special forces soldiers entering this slum district.

What could possibly be worth their attention in this godforsaken place besides himself?

"Master, it seems I need to leave first. Otherwise, I may drag you into this."

"No need. You already have."

Human Path remained calm. What impressive concealment—they had only been detected after getting this close.

The moment Xu Yue finished speaking, a black shadow suddenly shot out from the darkness, charging toward Banner with lightning speed.

Even after launching the attack, it was no more than a faint silhouette. The figure seemed to blend into the air itself, making not the slightest sound.

A blade flashed in her hand as though she intended to take Banner’s head. Banner’s entire attention was drawn to her, and just as a hint of green emerged in his eyes and he seemed about to transform, his body abruptly shuddered. A vacuum syringe had been fired into his back from long range!

The instant the syringe pierced him, it automatically filled with a tube of blood.

The figure that had seemed ready to deliver a fatal blow then retrieved the syringe from an extremely tricky angle.

Their coordination was flawless, a seamless sequence that gave him no chance to think.

Since they had not directly released killing intent, Banner, who had learned to control his emotions, did not passively transform. He could only watch as they took his blood.

Just as he was about to turn and give chase, Human Path spoke.

"Stay calm. Do not let external things disturb your emotions."

"Thank you, Master. But my blood carries a serious contagious disease. I cannot let people with ulterior motives obtain it."

Banner turned back and pressed his palms together toward Xu Yue, then actually took the initiative to chase after the two.

This was completely different from how he had done nothing but flee in the movie.

It was as though forcefully drawing his blood had triggered some hidden switch that compelled him to act.

"Careful. Banner is chasing after you."

Jason, who was responsible for sniping, saw Banner’s movements and nervously warned his teammate Lucy through the radio.

"Don’t worry. I made arrangements long ago."

Upon hearing her teammate’s warning, Lucy revealed a strange smile.

The next moment, several rockets shot toward the house where Xu Yue’s Human Path Pain was located from multiple angles. Banner, who had just left to pursue the enemy, immediately turned back and returned to the room, spreading his arms in an embrace as he shielded Xu Yue’s Human Path.

Then the entire room was struck and engulfed in flames.

Hearing the commotion behind her, Lucy could not help but sneer.

Those Reincarnators mixed into General Ross’s team were far too easy to fool. With only a little guidance, they had chosen to "join forces" and eliminate that fake Master Reincarnator, the one most likely to succeed.

But their choice happened to provide her with cover!

Having thoroughly grasped Banner’s personality and behavioral patterns, she could completely judge all of his priorities.

This fake "Master" had raised his favorability too high, enough for Banner to choose protecting him first and even temporarily give up tracking down the blood.

And as long as she had a little time, with her concealment abilities…

"Oh, isn’t this our dear Shadow of Death? What’s this? After getting beaten back home last time, are you now slumming it with some backwater team?"

Just as Lucy’s skill cooldown was about to end and she prepared to slip back into the shadows, several chains streaked through the sky like white ribbons, directly sealing off every area around her.

A figure descended from the sky and landed on a nearby rooftop. Once he released his grip, the figure he had been carrying—dead or alive—fell to the ground.

It was Jason, whom she had contacted to warn only moments ago!

Lucy’s face darkened, and anxiety appeared in her eyes.

"Oh? Shadow of Death actually worries about a companion? Don’t tell me that when you were weakened after resurrection, he helped you and you actually developed feelings for him. How incredible."

The figure dressed in a black tailcoat, with sharp fangs, also wore a mocking expression.

"Duke Vic! You should not have any need to be in this area. Why have you come here?"

Lucy did not respond to his words. Instead, she questioned him with a dark expression.

The other party was one of the big shots of France’s Holy Hill Legion. Theoretically, his target should have been elsewhere.

Given the danger level of this space, big shots would not rashly make a move unless they truly had a suitable target!

Lucy herself had once been an existence on the same level. But during one mission, she had been slightly too greedy and taken the greatest benefit, only to be ambushed by several big shots from other legions working together with plot characters. That was why she had fallen to her current state.

She had thought that with her insight and awareness, it would not take long to climb back up. Banner’s Blood was the best opportunity.

Yet who could have expected that she would encounter an old rival she had once been at odds with here?

This was the greatest crisis…

Roar!

But just then, a tremendous roar erupted from the flames of the earlier explosion, blasting away all the fire in the surrounding area…

Two chapters done~

Let me briefly clarify again: the plot is mainly based on the movie series. In the films, Hulk does indeed grow stronger the longer he fights, and becomes stronger when facing stronger opponents. In Thor 3, Thor beat him down because Thor activated a cheat that gave Hulk no chance to adapt… Thor with Odin’s power was, in a sense, also a cheat character, though in the films he should only count as a pseudo-Odin-power Thor…
