Chaos Sage

The appearance of these people was extremely abrupt. Bai Cangshu’s Mantra had detected nothing at all. Only after he became aware of their appearance did their heartbeats, breathing, and even fragmented thoughts enter his Mantra.

Bai Cangshu swept his gaze around but did not see the Sage mentioned in the information. However, the ability to completely block his perception was likely the power to manipulate cognition that Red Dust and Sela had spoken of.

This ability was more like turning the world into some kind of "stage play." He could decide when and which people or objects appeared on the stage.

Even if other things were right before your eyes, you would be unable to see them.

Since the first time he sensed these people was when they attacked and cut Soul Mage Shiro in half, Bai Cangshu guessed that the Sage’s manipulation ability also had certain limitations.

Either they had to be close enough, or the energy fluctuations and killing intent during battle could not be concealed. In short, it was not an ability that could silently kill someone without warning.

Bai Cangshu’s thoughts moved swiftly. Even with a Naginata pressed against his neck, he remained completely unaffected.

Noticing this, the man wielding the Naginata pressed the blade down, its icy edge touching Bai Cangshu’s skin.

"Mercenary Tao, don’t think that defeating a few mass-produced Title Reincarnators means you can truly rule this world…"

The man had a black pompadour swept back from his head. His features were sharply defined, and he stood over two meters tall with a muscular build. He gripped the end of the three-meter-long Naginata in one hand, displaying considerable strength and control.

Before him stood the short Red-Hair youth, barely over one meter sixty, who looked up at Bai Cangshu with indifference. A voluptuous woman stood sideways with her body slightly bent, her right hand hovering over the sword hilt at her waist as sharp killing intent filled the surroundings.

On the other side, a blonde woman in black-and-white knight armor stood directly in front of Bai Cangshu, holding a purplish-red greatshield with both hands and blocking his path with a solemn expression. The man beside her wore a loose T-shirt and numerous silver ornaments. On the middle fingers of both hands were rings that crackled with lightning.

"Be careful. You’ll get hurt."

As Bai Cangshu raised a hand to hold the Naginata’s blade, he studied the members of the Chaos Sage.

As a standard elite Reincarnator team, aside from their powerful leader, nearly every member was an elite Reincarnator capable of standing on their own.

Every member being Strong-tier was merely the most basic requirement.

Their personnel arrangement and ability enhancements were exceptionally comprehensive.

Moreover, under the resource allocation of the Grand Assembly, their basic abilities and specializations had all been raised to around Lv7, allowing them to enter the advanced stage and gain at least two opportunities to select deepened traits.

It could be said that even without the Sage taking action, these people could overwhelmingly defeat the teams of many Title-level Reincarnators.

They did not regard ordinary Title-level Reincarnators as important figures. From their team’s perspective, those who crossed the second threshold into the Third Tier and immediately sought out some space-quantified titles, spending huge amounts of Singularity Points to enter the so-called Title-level, were all fools.

Not only did they waste resources, but their inflated evaluations also made it easy for them to encounter enemies they could not match. The only benefit was gaining earlier access to some high-resource worlds.

The man codenamed Archimedes looked at Mercenary Tao mockingly. Frankly speaking, Mercenary Tao was indeed a capable Reincarnator. The rumors in the space had not exaggerated things; in less than a minute, he had overwhelmingly crushed Shiloh’s team.

His speed was far faster than Archimedes had been three worlds ago. Back then, Shiloh’s Fullbring had tormented him for quite some time.

But now, after three worlds, he had gained the ability to instantly kill Shiloh. Though it had been a sneak attack, and though this was not a one-on-one duel with Mercenary Tao, this madman had violated the Iron Rule. Lord Sage and Tang Sanzang had already resolved to kill him completely.

"Don’t worry. My hand is steady. I won’t easily cut open your neck~"

Archimedes spoke in a teasing tone.

Aside from Red Queen, who held her shield in a defensive stance, the others all wore smiles.

Bai Cangshu raised an eyebrow. Pinching the Naginata’s blade, he slowly lifted it upward. Looking at Archimedes’ expression, his mouth curled into a grin. Then, he wiped his thumb directly across the blade.

Whoosh!

Radiant Flame instantly ignited across Archimedes’ body.

Pain seared Archimedes’ skin, and the Naginata immediately pressed downward. Red Queen dropped her shield heavily onto the ground, and golden holy light flared.

The next moment, the Radiant Flame went out. Archimedes’ hair had merely curled, his black-and-white uniform had been partly burned away, and the wounds on his skin had already healed.

Bai Cangshu looked at the disheveled Archimedes with an expression even more mocking and arrogant than his own.

"You misunderstood. I was worried that if your blade got any closer, it would hurt you. Ha~"

At that moment, Archimedes, Red Queen, Left Eye, Zhou Si, and Indra all clearly sensed Mercenary Tao’s undisguised malice and madness.

Did he really think he could face all five of them alone?!

"Arrogant."

For the first time, the woman who had remained bent over with her right hand hovering above her sword hilt raised her head. Her purple hair was tied behind her head, leaving only her left eye exposed.

Left Eye stared coldly at Bai Cangshu. The killing intent around them condensed in an instant, and her right hand trembled.

Buzz!

The liquid-like killing intent vanished instantly.

Ring!

The clear cry of a sword was like the piercing call of a phoenix, carrying for thousands of meters.

A water-like flash of sword light lit up in an instant.

Bai Cangshu’s waist bent as though it had snapped. Even the God’s Right Eye between his brows could clearly see the ripples produced as that sword light tore through layer after layer of air.

Slash!

The sword light swept over the car where Lily of the Three-Section Staff and Fubuki were hiding. The vehicle instantly split apart and slid down, while the sword light sank into the earth. There was no explosion; only after a moment did the trembling sound of the ground collapsing reach them.

Bai Cangshu rose, only for a red eye to enter his vision. The Red-Hair youth Indra stared at him indifferently. The muscles in Bai Cangshu’s leg suddenly twitched as though seized by cramps, disrupting his movement as he stood. Caught off guard, he lost his balance, his body seeming ready to fall again.

At some unknown point, Left Eye had already sheathed her blade. The stance for an iaijutsu strike formed again, and she drew her sword once more.

Tsubame Gaeshi!

The great tachi left its sheath, and three flashes of blade light lit up simultaneously.

But Bai Cangshu’s muscles bulged in an instant. Amid creaking sounds, his Perfect Purification body rapidly altered its muscular proportions. His legs thickened by more than a full circle, forcibly stabilizing his body.

Indra merely watched quietly. Sure enough, Bai Cangshu’s thickened legs suddenly began bleeding profusely, and he crashed to the ground.

The three blade lights perfectly enveloped Bai Cangshu.

Red Queen pressed her right hand against her shield and raised her left hand.

Giant Strength Technique

Magic Armor Technique

Blessing Technique

One enhancement after another was rapidly applied in unison.

Zhou Si, who wore numerous silver ARMs, also spread his hands apart. The Eyes of Thunder on his fingers opened at the same time, and thunderclouds swiftly gathered in the sky.

Lightning crackled between his hands. Intense magic power drew down the thunder in the heavens as he pointed a hand at Mercenary Tao.

Bai Cangshu’s eyes trembled continuously as he slowly took in everything around him. Under the effects of Mantra, even the restless electric charges in the air could be completely sensed by him.

The members of Chaos Sage coordinated closely, their abilities erupting in an instant. Before he had even hit the ground, icy sword edges had already slashed across his body.

The Radiant Flame was dispelled the instant it ignited by the shield-bearing woman.

And the voluptuous woman’s level of sword-drawing technique was likely extremely high. He could feel the stinging pain as her blade cut through Flame Dragon Scales and Armament Haki.

Crackle!

Thunder from the heavens came crashing down, striking Bai Cangshu directly and causing an explosion.

Archimedes finally made his move. He raised his three-meter-long Naginata and slightly closed his eyes. In his mind appeared the image of Mercenary Tao being instantly cut into hundreds of pieces.

The next moment, his eyes opened.

Slash! Slash!

Amid flying chunks of flesh, Mercenary Tao’s body was brutally cut apart.

Seeing this from afar, the Sage’s expression returned to calm composure.

"See? Mercenary Tao is no different from you."

"Even if I don’t act, you have no chance."

Red Dust was nearly strangled to death by telekinesis at this moment. But because he feared that if he died this time, he would be unable to revive, Red Dust stubbornly refused to breathe his last. His face had turned bluish-purple, and his eyes bulged.

Yet he still looked at the Sage, forcing out what little air remained as he spoke.

"You’ll regret this…"

Boom!

A powerful Conqueror’s Haki erupted, sweeping over from several kilometers away like a hurricane.

The Sage’s expression turned cold. Within that battlefield, he saw a huge phantom appear, while countless strands of malice poured forth endlessly alongside the Conqueror’s Haki.
