Chapter 1166: The Sky Has Collapsed
For the first few decades after Dragon Entering the Dao met Han Jue, everything went smoothly. He married, had children, transitioned from childishness to maturity, and eventually took on the responsibilities of the manor.
As time passed, a change occurred in Dragon Entering the Dao's heart, simply because Han Jue never grew old.
The legend of Han Jue's agelessness spread for ten thousand miles, attracting many children to seek him as a master. Han Jue did not refuse them, yet he never truly taught them anything; instead, he spent every day leading a group of little brats as they wandered around the manor.
When Dragon Entering the Dao tried to seek the art of cultivating immortality from Han Jue again, Han Jue remained vague. Thus, the trivialities of family life caused Dragon Entering the Dao to forget his original intention.
After turning sixty, his strength began to fail him, and he was no longer as vigorous as he was in his youth. After handling family matters, he would spend most of his time staring blankly at the firmament.
On this day.
He sought out Han Jue to chat and relax.
The elderly Dragon Entering the Dao said with emotion, "Grandpa, those stories you used to tell me about flying through the sky and tunneling through the earth—can you tell them to me again?"
Han Jue smiled and said, "I only look young; in truth, I am old too. I've forgotten many things from the past."
Dragon Entering the Dao sighed.
"It's a pity my Aptitude isn't outstanding; otherwise, I could have gone out to explore the Martial Dao when I was young," Dragon Entering the Dao lamented, his tone filled with nostalgia. As people age, they tend to reminisce about their youth.
Han Jue smiled and asked, "Look at the sky; how high do you think it is?"
Dragon Entering the Dao shook his head and laughed, "With a sky so blue, how could a Mortal like me know its height?"
Han Jue smiled.
"However, your words make me curious. Just how high is this sky? People often speak of the sky collapsing, but when has it ever collapsed? It is only that people cannot outlast their years and eventually break down."
Dragon Entering the Dao gazed at the firmament and began to daze.
Han Jue stretched and smiled, "The sky is about to collapse."
Dragon Entering the Dao heard him but thought it was a joke, so he did not respond.
Not long after, he suddenly saw a speck of light appear on the horizon. It rapidly grew larger, streaking across the sky and causing the entire world to lose its color, startling him into instinctively closing his eyes.
Before he could react, a deafening roar echoed in his ears.
He suddenly remembered Han Jue's words from just now.
The sky is about to collapse…
…
Who knows how much time passed.
Dragon Entering the Dao woke up feeling pain all over his body. When he opened his eyes, he saw a torn, crimson firmament. Countless black cracks, like centipedes, sprawled across it, looking horrifying and terrifying.
Dust filled his vision, making him even more dizzy.
What on earth happened?
Dragon Entering the Dao struggled to get up and found that the surrounding manor had been reduced to ruins. Debris was everywhere. He saw the heads of his friends and relatives; there wasn't a single intact corpse. This scene was like a nightmare that deeply traumatized him.
Thump! Thump! Thump…
Only his heartbeat echoed in his ears, getting faster and louder. His mind went blank, and he felt as if his body was about to explode!
He suddenly saw two figures confronting each other in the sky. They were two human silhouettes.
He rubbed his eyes with difficulty, confirming he hadn't misseen.
How could humans stay suspended so high in the firmament?
Dragon Entering the Dao's heart was filled with anguish; despair, anger, and fear intertwined, leaving him in a daze, not knowing what to do.
He couldn't accept everything he saw, and a sliver of hope arose in his heart.
Could all of this be a dream?
"Didn't you want to know those stories of flying through the sky and tunneling through the earth? They are right before your eyes."
A familiar voice drifted over. Dragon Entering the Dao turned to look and found Han Jue standing on a roof beam stuck in the ruins. His figure was straight, and his robes fluttered in the wind. Dragon Entering the Dao looked on in shock; he had never seen Han Jue with such an aura.
The setting sun was like blood; he stood isolated from the world, and that elegance struck him with awe.
He snapped out of it and asked in a trembling voice, "Grandpa, you… what do you mean?"
Han Jue turned his head, looked down at him, and smiled, "I offered to let you cultivate immortality before, but you looked down on it. Do you see the power of Immortal Cultivators now?"
Immortal Cultivators?
Dragon Entering the Dao suddenly snapped awake, his whole body trembling. He looked toward the sky in anger and gritted his teeth, "All of this was done by Immortal Cultivators?"
Han Jue smiled without speaking.
Dragon Entering the Dao suddenly thought of something. He looked at Han Jue and asked, "Are you an Immortal Cultivator too? Why didn't you protect them?"
"If I hadn't acted, would you still be alive?"
"Then why didn't you protect them as well…"
"Do they have anything to do with me?"
Han Jue interrupted Dragon Entering the Dao and asked coldly.
His expression became colder than ever, making Dragon Entering the Dao feel uneasy. He said, "I came here only for you. Over these years, I have owed nothing to your manor. If I were to leave today, you would certainly die."
Dragon Entering the Dao lowered his head, his hands gripping the stones beside him so tightly that his fingernails were nearly torn off, and blood seeped out.
Han Jue stared at Dragon Entering the Dao and said, "I know your current anger, but once you step onto the path of cultivation, you will naturally understand all of this. As for whether you want revenge, that is your business. I will leave those two for you to handle yourself."
"Xiao Long, it's time for me to go. You must walk the path ahead on your own. Didn't your elderly self regret the lack of drive in your youth? Now you must start over. Whether you can seize such an Opportunity depends on you. Before I leave, I will pass on to you an Immortality Cultivation Method—the method that was delayed for fifty years. If you had learned it back then, perhaps you could have saved them."
With a wave of Han Jue's right hand, a stream of memories surged into Dragon Entering the Dao's mind.
Dragon Entering the Dao subsequently fell into a deep sleep.
…
Within a Void Realm of the Dao Secret Realm, two figures constantly crossed paths as various Divine Abilities shifted unpredictably and collided repeatedly.
It was none other than Chen Jue and Chu Xiaoqi.
Chu Xiaoqi laughed wildly, "Can you feel my Power of Karma?"
Chen Jue's lower body was re-forming. He marveled, "It is indeed powerful, even stronger than the Karma Divine Ability of the Primal Chaos. I didn't expect you to have such talent."
Chu Xiaoqi flew in front of Chen Jue, withdrew his Power of Karma, and smiled proudly, "Of course. Otherwise, how could my Grandpa have taken an interest in me back then? By the way, my Grandpa is in the Dao Secret Realm. Do you want to go meet him?"
Chen Jue shook his head and said, "Your grandpa? Why should I meet him?"
"My grandpa is very powerful!"
"I've seen many powerful people; you and I are considered powerful as well."
"My grandpa is different."
"Oh? Is he a Creator Daoist?"
"Maybe not, but then again, maybe he is? Why don't you really come and see? This might be your greatest Opportunity!"
Chu Xiaoqi spoke with a look of pride, leaving Chen Jue silent.
What if?
Thinking about Chu Xiaoqi's opportunities, despite his Aptitude not being that of a Prodigy, he always managed to follow closely behind him.
Chu Xiaoqi smiled, "Let's go, it's a good time for a break."
Chen Jue did not refuse again.
The two immediately left that Void Realm and entered the lower Mortal Realm of the Dao Secret Realm.
Han Jue had specifically opened a back door for Chu Xiaoqi; only Chu Xiaoqi could detect his aura.
At this moment, Han Jue was fishing in the mountains when Chu Xiaoqi and Chen Jue appeared beside him.
"Grandpa!"
Chu Xiaoqi approached with a grin. In front of Han Jue, he reverted to his youthful personality.
Chen Jue stared at Han Jue, shocked in his heart.
He completely couldn't see through the other's cultivation!
