Chapter 1168

One group went to the top of the passage, while the other two groups went to search the sides.

The Skeleton Divine Generals moved forward in dense numbers, not letting a single corner slip by as they launched a carpet search in the darkness.

Watching the Skeleton Divine Generals disappear into the darkness, Lin Moyu stood by the wall and waited quietly, not in a rush.

Soon, a Skeleton Divine General sent back information.

On the left side of the passage, they found an entrance. Behind the entrance was also pitch-black, leading to an unknown place.

The corners of Lin Moyu's mouth curled up. "As expected, it is in the passage."

He roughly knew the reason behind the disappearance of the God Kings; they had most likely gone inside.

Chapter 1278: An Immense Cemetery

Lin Moyu was in no hurry; he waited quietly.

He waited for the skeletons to search the entire passage thoroughly.

In total, eight entrances were discovered in the passage.

The eight entrances were hidden within the pitch-black thick mist, four on each side, directly opposing each other in perfect balance.

The God Kings who disappeared here had most likely entered one of them and never returned.

"There are still quite a few smart people."

Those God Kings were probably all very smart, at least smarter than ordinary people, and they also possessed extremely strong curiosity.

Normal people would leave when they reached the end of the passage and found nothing.

But smart people wouldn't; they would ponder whether there might be other entrances in the pitch-black passage.

Then they would look for them, and indeed, they would find some. They would enter with excitement, only to disappear forever.

Lin Moyu didn't know if he would also disappear like those God Kings.

But no matter what, he had to go and take a look.

If for nothing else, the secrets of ancient times alone deeply attracted him.

Back in the Mysterious Manor, he had seen someone summon a great world rune to battle the master of the manor.

The great world rune was now on the verge of collapsing. Although he wasn't sure if it was the manor master's doing, the manor master had entered the coffin of slumber, which was currently in his hands.

The information left behind by the manor master and the power system he displayed seemed to have countless ties to Lin Moyu himself.

Combining all these reasons, Lin Moyu, harboring curiosity, chose one of the entrances and stepped inside.

Space distorted, and multicolored hues appeared before his eyes.

Lin Moyu felt as if he had undergone a teleportation.

A moment later, his feet stepped onto solid ground again. The scenery before him rapidly solidified, and the teleportation ended.

A grayish-white fireball hung in the sky, bringing a touch of light to the world.

Under the reflection of the fireball, the entire world appeared grayish-white.

Many visible floating dust particles drifted leisurely in the air, constantly rising and then slowly settling down.

It was as if a hand was continuously tossing the dust up, letting them dance in the air.

A gentle breeze blew, colliding with the floating dust and producing faint, soft sounds.

The entire world was permeated with a faint hint of sadness and desolation.

An inexplicable feeling surged in his heart, reminding Lin Moyu of a certain festival from his previous life.

Every April in spring, people would go to the mountains to pay respects to their ancestors.

During that season, it would often rain. Incense and candles would be lit on the mountains, and occasionally, there would be people weeping in sorrow.

Looking ahead, there was a forest.

A small path wound through the forest into the distance, connecting to the high mountains far away.

With vigilance, Lin Moyu followed the path into the forest.

The forest was not dense but rather sparse, just enough to block one's line of sight.

After walking about a hundred meters, the forest came to an end, and what appeared before him were rows of coffins.

The coffins were neatly arranged, identical in size and shape, stretching as far as the eye could see, countless in number.

In an instant, the sorrowful atmosphere grew even heavier, and the aura of death rushed at him.

The floating dust in the air danced even more intensely.

"This is a cemetery!" Lin Moyu paused, his heart pounding slightly.

He did not sense any danger, only finding it somewhat eerie.

Inside the Ancient Tomb, there was actually a cemetery.

He recalled the structure of the Ancient Tomb.

After entering the first passage, there was a circular hall.

In the hall were several rooms, each containing coffins and a large amount of funerary objects, indicating that the people buried inside had extraordinary statuses and were likely relatives of the tomb's owner.

Then came the second passage, followed by a garden with a fountain.

Building a garden inside a tomb was a very strange thing in itself, and something Lin Moyu could not understand.

Then there was the third passage. There were eight entrances in the third passage, and after choosing one at random, he arrived here…

Gradually, a clear structural diagram formed in his mind.

Lin Moyu guessed that there was probably more than one cemetery like the one before him.

The eight entrances respectively led to a cemetery.

Combining this with what he had seen in the Mysterious Manor before, a guess suddenly welled up in Lin Moyu's heart.

If the owner of the Ancient Tomb was a general, then could the ones buried in the cemetery's coffins be soldiers?

The eight cemeteries were like military camps, guarding the mountain forest in the center.

Lin Moyu stood before the cemetery for a long time without stepping inside. The wisps of aura emanating from the cemetery made him feel that something was unusual.

He knew that as long as he stepped into it, something unpredictable would surely happen.

He gazed into the distance, looking at the mountain forest far away, lost in thought. "If I'm not mistaken, that mountain forest is the true burial ground."

Lin Moyu walked slowly along the outer perimeter of the cemetery, his footsteps falling on the soft ground, leaving footprints in the dirt.

As he walked, Lin Moyu continued to stare at the cemetery, observing the situation inside.

The cemetery was very quiet. It looked like there was nothing but coffins, with countless coffins arranged in perfect order.

But Lin Moyu gradually noticed some subtle changes.

Although the cemetery had no fences or high walls, the aura emanating from it formed an invisible barrier.

Separated by a single line, the worlds inside and outside were completely different.

Lin Moyu could clearly feel the existence of the barrier and did not step into it lightly.

The shape of the barrier was not a straight line but curved, in a fan shape.

This further confirmed Lin Moyu's guess: there was more than one cemetery, and the one before his eyes was just one of them.

The eight doors in the third passage respectively led to eight cemeteries.

The eight cemeteries guarded the high mountain in the center.

After walking for nearly half a day, the cemetery finally came to an end, and a small path leading to the high mountain appeared in his line of sight.

The path was not wide, less than thirty meters, and was covered with gravel.

Every piece of gravel was made of that incredibly sturdy black material, looking just like leftover scraps from building the tomb used to pave the road.

But in fact, that was not the case. The edges of these gravel pieces were rounded, clearly having been meticulously polished.

In Lin Moyu's view, polishing these gravel pieces was time-consuming and laborious, even more troublesome than constructing the tomb.

On the other side of the gravel path was another cemetery.

It was still filled with countless coffins, no different from the cemetery beside him.

This situation completely verified Lin Moyu's guess. The eight entrances in the third passage respectively led to eight cemeteries.

All eight cemeteries were fan-shaped, with gravel paths running between each cemetery.

A map formed in his mind. This was a cemetery of incredibly massive scale, with at least over a million coffins inside.

Coming to the edge of the gravel path and looking along it toward the distant high mountain, he could see that the path led straight to the mountain.

If Lin Moyu didn't want to enter the cemetery, he could just follow the path to the high mountain.

Just as he raised his foot and was about to step out, Lin Moyu decisively pulled his foot back.

The gravel path was also filled with the exact same aura as the cemetery.

These wisps of aura connected the cemetery and the path into a single whole.

Although the cemetery was divided into eight sections, it was actually still a single entity; touching one part would affect the whole.

The path seemed to lead to the central high mountain, but in reality, entering the path was no different from entering the cemetery.

With a thought, three Skeleton God Warriors emerged at his command.

When everything was unclear, letting the skeletons scout the way was the best choice.

The clattering sound of bones rubbing together rang out, breaking the silence of the cemetery.

One Skeleton God Warrior ran into the path with a clatter, while another ran toward the cemetery beside him.

The last Skeleton God Warrior prepared to cross the gravel path and run toward the cemetery on the opposite side of the path.

At this moment, Lin Moyu seemed to have discovered something. His pupils shrank abruptly as he spotted a figure.

Chapter 1279: Former God Kings, Cemetery Janitors

Right inside the cemetery on the opposite side of the gravel path, a figure suddenly appeared.

Lin Moyu was certain that the other party had appeared suddenly.

If they had been there before, it definitely wouldn't have escaped his notice.

He had been paying attention to the situation in the cemetery the whole time; any movement could not escape his eyes.

In the cemetery where pale white was the dominant color, the appearance of a black figure was highly conspicuous.

At the same time the figure appeared, Lin Moyu's heart shuddered.

He had lost connection with the three Skeleton God Warriors.

Lin Moyu was slightly startled. At no time would his skeletons disconnect from him.

No matter how far the distance, he could always sense their existence.

Even if they were sometimes in different spaces, making it impossible to establish a connection or command them, he could still sense the skeletons' existence.

But at this moment, he had completely lost connection with the skeletons.

"Dead?"

"No, even if they were instantly killed, it wouldn't be like this."

Verifying whether the skeletons were still alive was extremely simple.

Lin Moyu tried to summon new Skeleton God Warriors.

The summon failed; the slots for the Skeleton God Warriors had not been freed up.

This meant that these three Skeleton God Warriors were still alive and had not died.

That meant they had truly lost connection.

A sense of vigilance arose in Lin Moyu's heart. Only now did he realize that it was actually possible to lose connection with his skeletons.

His gaze became incredibly solemn. "If that's the case, if I encounter enemies in the future who can disconnect me from my skeletons, the combat power of my Undead Legion will be drastically reduced."
