Chapter 12 Isn’t He a Liar?
He had seen that middle-aged man earlier today when he was going downstairs; the man was sending his child to school.
Watching him now, humbly stopping one recruiter after another, he seemed to be in urgent need of a job.
He couldn't help but recall the argument he had heard a few days ago, and after a moment of thought, he stepped forward.
Anyway, he also needed new employees to spend the system's funds; it didn't matter who he hired. As long as it was within his capabilities, he didn't mind lending a hand.
……….
"Hello, does your company still need people? This is my resume; you can take a look."
Yang Dahai carefully stopped a recruiter, ready to hand over the resume in his hand.
"The job fair is over, didn't you know? Also, our company only needs young people. How old are you?"
A recruiter impatiently swatted away the offered resume and left without looking back.
Yang Dahai wasn't angry; he bent down, picked up his resume, and continued to look for the next recruiter.
Today, he had sent his daughter to school, but he hadn't expected the teacher to keep him for a long time discussing his daughter's studies. Moreover, the school was quite far from the job fair, so by the time he rushed over, the job fair had already ended.
There was nothing he could do; he could only stop the recruiters who were leaving and try his luck to see if he could find a job.
He didn't care about the attitude of these recruiters; he only hoped to find a job.
After all, he had been unemployed for some time, and the burden of the family had suddenly fallen entirely on his wife. The family's expenses had begun to exceed their income.
However, due to his physical condition, he couldn't do heavy labor, so he could only come out and constantly try his luck.
He hoped to find a suitable job.
"Hello, can I take a moment of your time? This is my resume; you can take a look."
Yang Dahai stopped another recruiter, smiling as he offered his resume.
"No time."
This recruiter didn't swat away the resume, but his attitude wasn't very good either.
"Uh… can I see your resume?"
Yang Dahai was about to look for his next target when he suddenly heard a voice from behind him.
He turned his head at the sound and saw a young man smiling at him.
"It's you! Is something wrong?"
Yang Dahai instantly recognized the young man in front of him; it was the person who had recently moved upstairs, whom he often met on the stairs these past two days.
He just didn't know why this young man was looking for him.
Chen Mo saw the middle-aged man's puzzled expression, raised his hand to show the recruitment advertisement he was holding, and smiled.
"My company also needs to hire people. If possible, let's find a place to talk."
Yang Dahai looked at the handwritten recruitment advertisement, then at Chen Mo's young face, his eyes filled with suspicion.
It was his first time seeing such a young boss.
However, after a moment of hesitation, he nodded in agreement.
He knew that if he continued to stop people here, the probability of finding a job was minuscule. It would be better to talk with this young man.
After all, young bosses weren't unheard of.
Outdoors,
On a public bench in the shade.
Chen Mo handed a bottle of iced mineral water to Yang Dahai, then sat down next to him and began to read Yang Dahai's resume.
Yang Dahai took the mineral water and thanked him gratefully.
After a while,
Chen Mo closed the resume and turned to look at Yang Dahai.
"I see on your resume that you drove a large truck for twenty years. Why did you stop?"
Yang Dahai's face showed bitterness at the question.
"Driving a large truck requires frequent long-distance trips. I'm older now, and compared to those young drivers, it's hard for me to compete with them."
"And last year, I injured my back a bit. After it healed, no one wanted me to continue driving trucks."
Chen Mo was silent for a long time after hearing this. He didn't know how to comment on the matter.
It was understandable for bosses to hire young people; after all, young people were more energetic and more efficient.
But what had Yang Dahai done wrong? He had diligently driven a truck for twenty years, only to end up unemployed.
Survival of the fittest, the capable take the position.
Neither of them had done anything wrong; one could only say that society was too cold and lacked some human touch.
Chen Mo fell into contemplation, pondering what kind of job would be suitable for Yang Dahai.
A back injury meant he couldn't do heavy labor, but that wasn't a problem; he had observed the work in the workshop and it didn't require much strength.
But then he thought of an even more suitable job.
Driver.
As a boss, hiring a full-time driver wasn't excessive, right?
And with Yang Dahai's twenty years of experience driving large trucks, being a car driver was entirely within his capabilities.
The only problem at the moment was the car.
If there's a driver, there must be a car.
As the company boss, getting a car for himself—no… getting a car for the company.
When he thought about getting a car for himself, the system clearly gave a violation reminder.
However, after he came up with the idea of getting a car for the company, the system did not give a violation prompt.
Feasible!
Chen Mo was delighted. As for it being a company car, what did it matter?
As long as he didn't tell the other employees, who would know it was a company car?
I'm truly too clever.
"Uh, I currently need a full-time driver. What are your thoughts?"
"If you don't mind my age, of course, I'm willing to."
Yang Dahai said with a bitter smile. He was already over forty, and with a back injury, what was there to be picky about?
He was already very satisfied to have a job.
"Of course, I don't mind. Brother Yang has twenty years of truck driving experience. Having you as a driver makes me feel much more at ease."
Chen Mo said with a smile, and this was his sincere thought.
He had driven a large truck for twenty years without a single accident; he was truly an experienced driver.
"Let's discuss the benefits. What are your requirements, Brother Yang?"
"As long as the salary is paid on time, that's fine."
"Don't you have any salary expectations?"
"I'm not very familiar with the salary for full-time drivers. Whatever President Chen says is fine."
Yang Dahai said honestly.
Chen Mo looked at Yang Dahai's honest demeanor and sighed helplessly.
It was a good thing he met him. If he had met other bosses, saying that would surely result in an absurdly low salary.
After bargaining with the system, Chen Mo finally probed the highest salary he could currently offer Yang Dahai.
"Then let's tentatively set it at 8,000 a month, and I'll also pay your full five insurances and one housing fund."
Chen Mo was very surprised by the salary he had probed; it was even higher than Shen Rou's, who had a high education.
However, he understood after thinking about it. Shen Rou, after all, had no work experience and was completely in an intern state.
Yang Dahai, however, was different; he had twenty years of experience driving large trucks, so a salary of 8,000 was reasonable.
And this 8,000 was the salary after a thirty percent increase; normally, it would be around 6,000.
But in terms of development, Shen Rou definitely had more potential.
"Eight thousand?"
"You're not joking, are you?"
Yang Dahai looked at Chen Mo in disbelief, a hint of doubt rising in his heart.
Could this young man be a swindler?
