Chapter 1291 Ant Colony

"Is that so? What would happen if one's brain region were developed more extensively?"

Ye Bufan's interest was piqued by her words.

Sofia said, "According to our research, only a portion of the human brain currently exhibits intelligence. With more extensive development, some special abilities will emerge.

For example, as you just mentioned, the innate ability to distinguish directions. Additionally, some people can control lightning, manipulate water and fire, control other creatures, and even control plants."

"That's truly amazing." Ye Bufan asked, "How far has your research progressed? Can you help people develop their brain regions?"

Sofia said, "We can't do that yet. Our research findings are based solely on extensive data analysis; practical application is not yet possible.

However, I believe that with the advancement of human technology, we will eventually be able to achieve this."

"I hope you succeed soon."

Ye Bufan raised his beer and clinked it against hers.

Sofia took a sip of her beer and then said, "Little handsome guy, what made you decide to come here for fun? Aren't you afraid of Death Grand Canyon?"

Ye Bufan smiled and said, "There's nothing to be afraid of. I think as long as one is careful, nothing will happen."

"You are truly brave. I hope we can return safely."

Sofia clinked glasses with him again, then drained her beer.

After the picnic, everyone prepared to rest.

The night sky was exceptionally clear. The sun had set, and a bright moon had risen. Under the moonlight, visibility was relatively high.

Ye Bufan said, "Everyone, please be careful tonight. We don't know what unknown dangers might occur here."

"Dr. Ye, you are still a bit too timid."

As soon as he finished speaking, Noviski stood up. "Dr. Ye, you are, after all, a doctor. When it comes to camping in the wild, you are far less experienced than us.

We have observed carefully along the way. There isn't even any wild animal droppings here, which indicates that no large wild beasts are active, and there won't be any danger.

So, I think you are just too timid, scared by those previous rumors."

This guy was originally a very arrogant person. Ye Bufan had clearly become the center of their team, which made him increasingly dissatisfied. He found an opportunity to stand up and strike at the other party, hoping to let Young Miss Feili see his importance in the team.

"That's right, based on my many years of wilderness survival experience, this place is very safe; there will be no

danger."

The speaker was a tall and sturdy team member named Kanu, Noviski's trusted subordinate. He was once a member of M Country's famous Navy SEALs. After retiring, he was heavily recruited by the Lawrence Family.

Ye Bufan couldn't be bothered to argue with these people and emphasized again, "I think it's better to be careful."

"Dr. Ye, you are truly too timid."

Kanu shook his head, then turned and walked to the side.

He had drunk too much beer and was going to relieve himself. Because there were three females present, he walked a bit farther, directly to the edge of the forest.

But just as he unzipped his pants and prepared to relieve himself, a sudden sharp pain shot through his legs.

He looked down and saw, under the moonlight, that his legs were covered in countless tiny insects, which were clearly ants.

Compared to ordinary ants, these ants were several times larger. What was most terrifying was that the entire area around the forest was densely covered with ants, like a thick black carpet laid on the ground, completely surrounding them.

"Damn it, what are these things?"

In just that moment of愣神儿, his legs were already bitten raw and bleeding profusely.

In extreme shock, Kanu no longer cared about relieving himself and quickly used his large hands to swat the ants off his legs.

Unfortunately, these ants were extremely fierce. Although he killed some of them, even more swarmed over, completely covering his body and biting even more ferociously.

At this point, Kanu was completely terrified. He turned and ran towards the others, shouting for help as he ran.

But it was too late. He had, after all, underestimated the power of these ants. After running only about ten meters, he felt a sudden numbness throughout his body, then fell to the ground with a thud.

It turned out that these ants were not only fierce but also venomous, which had completely paralyzed him.

"What's going on?"

Noviski stood there, originally still thinking about how to mock Ye Bufan again, but was startled by this sudden situation.

Everyone's gaze turned towards them, and in that short time, Kanu, who had been tall and sturdy just moments before, was eaten by those ants until not a speck of flesh remained, turning into a pile of white bones in the blink of an eye.

Seeing this scene, Feili and Sofia were so frightened that their faces turned pale and they couldn't help but let out piercing screams.

Although the future did not speak, her fists were clenched tightly, and her small face was somewhat pale.

She was the Saintess of the Tu Tribe

But she didn't have much combat experience, and this was the first time she had seen such a brutal scene.

Even powerful individuals like Noviski were incredibly shocked at this moment. If they were facing ferocious beasts like lions or tigers, they wouldn't be so afraid.

After all, they could fully cope with their cultivation, and even the hot weapons in the car would be enough to resist.

But these ants are different now. If there were only one or two, they wouldn't pose a threat at all. But now there are simply too many; they are ten thousand times more dangerous than lions or tigers.

Noviski cursed angrily, "Damn it, where did all these ants come from?"

"Boss, what should we do? Should we get in the car and leave quickly?"

A team member next to him asked nervously. The scene of Kanu's tragic death had truly scared him as well.

Noviski shook his head, "It's too late. We're already surrounded. We can't run fast in the forest, and the cars won't be able to stop them at all."

Feili cried out, "Then what should we do?"

"Don't worry, you don't need to be afraid with me here."

After a brief moment of shock, Noviski had calmed down and shouted, "These things are afraid of fire. Let's dig a firebreak next to our camp now, then pour gasoline into it. I don't believe it won't stop these damned things."

He was decisive and immediately made arrangements. The remaining 9 team members and he all took out their fire shovels and quickly dug a firebreak around the camp.

These people were strong and physically fit, so they dug the ditch very quickly.

Meanwhile, a rustling sound echoed through the night sky. The ants, like well-trained soldiers, systematically surrounded them.

The small ants, usually unnoticed, gathered together and now exuded a powerful aura of killing intent.

"Everyone, speed up, or it will really be too late."

Seeing the ant colony getting closer and their firebreak not yet completed, Noviski issued another order, telling a few of his subordinates to throw all the grenades they had brought from the car.

With a series of violent roars, the ant colony's offensive was finally temporarily halted.

When the smoke cleared, their firebreak was finally completed, and everyone worked together to pour gasoline into it.

Fortunately, they were exceptionally well-prepared with supplies this time, having several large barrels of spare gasoline, which was enough to handle the current situation.

By the time they finished all of this, the ants had completely surrounded them, menacingly encircling them in the center.
