Chapter 140: Divine Kingdom War Losses

From deep within the Alien Demi-god's divine kingdom, a roar filled with fury echoed out.

"Bastard! So what if you are powerful? This is my home turf! You want to seize my divine kingdom core—let's see if you can withstand the attrition!"

The Goblin Demigod snorted coldly, and then his will pierced through heaven and earth as a Divine Oracle thundered down:

"First, female believers are to immediately cease all activities and enter the Breeding areas to conceive offspring; male believers are granted unrestricted Breeding rights, but it is strictly forbidden to violate those who are already pregnant!"

"Second, all believers are to arm themselves immediately and commit fully to combat training, strengthening their physical fitness and battle array coordination!"

"Third, all production activities in the divine kingdom are completely suspended; all survival necessities will be uniformly supplied by divine gift!"

"Fourth, an alien race has invaded the divine kingdom. Believers of the third rank and above are to organize for war and immediately gather at the outskirts of the divine kingdom to construct defensive lines and obstruct the enemy layer by layer!"

Finally, a will as hard as iron weighed down upon the entire domain.

"This battle—is a battle for survival!"

"Swear to the death—to defend our home!"

As the Divine Oracle fell, the entire Goblin divine kingdom instantly began to operate.

The originally disorganized tribes were seemingly forced into a single rope, with every individual dragged into the war.

The Goblin Demigod stood in the core area, his eyes fixed deathly on the edge of the divine kingdom, his expression cold and stern.

"I only broke through to Demigod less than fifty years ago, yet my coordinates were locked onto so quickly."

"The opponent's military strength far exceeds mine; even their Foundation Establishment Stage forces are of such a scale."

He slowly exhaled, "If I can't win in a head-on clash, then I'll stall. I will make him retreat in the face of difficulties."

With a thought, he quickly made a decision.

"Purchase additional defensive buildings and arrange them in layers to delay the opponent's marching speed. My Goblin race's greatest strength has never been combat power, but Breeding capability."

"The longer I stall, the more obvious the advantage in a war of attrition becomes."

Outskirts of the divine kingdom.

Yang San led the army forward, but the path ahead was far more complex than imagined.

Upon the earth, vast areas had been forcibly transformed into quagmires; stepping into them caused one to sink continuously and move sluggishly. These areas were also laced with corrosive auras that constantly eroded the Physical Body.

There were also arrow towers and bone-spike ramparts visible everywhere.

Crude but staggering numbers of defensive fortifications were layered one after another, with almost no gaps.

Most of these were only C-grade or D-grade defensive buildings; individually they weren't strong, but their numbers were simply too great.

And the real trouble wasn't these, but rather the Goblins' 'harassment tactics'.

They almost never engaged in head-on confrontation, instead setting up ambushes in advance, occupying high ground or hidden terrain to launch sudden attacks as Yang San's army advanced.

Bows and arrows, stone-throwing, poison mist, and even suicide charges appeared in endless succession.

They would retreat immediately after hitting, never lingering in battle. A single instance wasn't fatal, but with enough frequency, the consumption of the war chariots was not small.

However, in the face of absolute strength, the impact of such methods was ultimately limited.

The alien side lacked high-end combat power; currently, the strongest individuals appearing were only at the Qi Refining Realm.

On Yang Fan's side, the believers didn't just know the Ten Halls of Yama Array, but also the Locking Heaven Array and the Extinguishing God Array, which they had long ago Cultivated to Major Achievement.

Even if it was just a vanguard squad, once they encountered an ambush, they could quickly form an array to stabilize the situation and stall for time.

By the time the main army from the rear pressed forward, there was only one outcome: the total annihilation of the alien squad.

Time passed, and in the blink of an eye, ten days had passed in reality.

In the Alien Divine Kingdom, ten years had already gone by.

During these ten years, although no true large-scale decisive battle broke out, small-scale conflicts never ceased.

Sneak attacks, counterattacks, tug-of-war, and advancement occurred almost every moment.

By now, the cumulative loss of believers had reached as high as two hundred million.

These were all Ranked Beings, including even hundreds of thousands of believers at the Qi Refining Realm. For any ordinary Demi-god, this would be enough to make their hearts ache.

But for Yang Fan, this was merely a number.

Because during the same time, his divine kingdom had already developed for another thousand years.

After Yang San drew off the military forces, the living space for the believers within the divine kingdom expanded. With the support of the A-grade Breeding Card, the population had long since been replenished.

Now, the combat power within the divine kingdom had not only recovered to what it was before the troop deployment, but the overall strength of the believers had even increased significantly. If there were losses at the front, the divine kingdom's vast rear would supplement them.

Even so, under the opponent's layered obstructions, in ten whole years, Yang San had only advanced less than half the distance.

The closer they got to the core area, the greater the resistance became.

Yang Fan quietly perceived all of this and sighed softly, "Divine Kingdom War… as expected, it's not that simple."

"In a life-or-death moment, the opponent will throw all their resources into the war. Even if I am stronger than him, wanting to completely swallow him up is not that easy."

At this moment, he finally understood those 'power structures' in reality.

Why there were various families, companies, Alliances, and squads…

Divine Kingdom War is simply not suited for going it alone!

If strengths are equal, a Divine Kingdom War won't even start; if one has the advantage, forcibly consuming the opponent also requires paying a huge price.

Once one's own divine kingdom's Origin Qi is heavily damaged, one will be on edge, potentially becoming someone else's prey at any time.

Because of this—

Cooperation has become the mainstream. And it's not just the Human Race. The alien races are the same.

Yang Fan narrowed his eyes slightly. If he didn't possess the Evolution Talent, the loss of two hundred million believers over these ten years would have been enough to make him hesitate or even retreat.

Moreover, this was only a 'Safe Coordinate'. If it were replaced by those 'Dangerous' or even 'High-risk' divine kingdoms, the price would only be more exaggerated.

Yang Fan shook his head and didn't think any deeper.

At least for now, he didn't need cooperation. Relying on his Evolution Talent, he could completely be a 'lone wolf'.

"Even if it's a slow grind, I can still grind you to death," Yang Fan said with a calm gaze.

According to Yang Fan's estimation, at Yang San's current advancement speed, it would take approximately another thirty years in the divine kingdom to reach the opponent's core area.

Converted to reality, that was only about a month.

He wasn't in a hurry; this kind of advancement efficiency was already quite good.

To conquer a Demigod's divine kingdom in just over a month would be an almost impossible task if not for the nearly infinite replenishment of troops.

Time continued to flow: ten days, twenty days.

On the other side, the alien Goblin Demigod had already begun to panic.

He stood in the core of his divine kingdom, his expression gloomy.

"How is it possible? To what extent has this human divine kingdom developed? I have clearly consumed seven or eight hundred million of his troops, yet his offensive hasn't weakened in the slightest!"

"Just how many believers does he have?! Could it be… the area of his divine kingdom has already exceeded fifty million square kilometers?"

Thinking of this, his breathing became slightly rapid.

"If that's the case, I can't stop him alone."

"I cannot die. No matter how great the price, I must survive!"

With a thought, his consciousness instantly withdrew from the divine kingdom.

Several thousand light-years away.

In an unfamiliar Star Domain.

A city belonging to the Goblin race stood quietly.

This place was completely different from human cities; there was no orderly reinforced concrete. Instead, it was replaced by buildings grown from twisted giant trees.

Branches coiled and vines interlaced, forming houses and streets as if they were living things.

The air was thick with the smell of alcohol and a primitive, mixed aura.

On the streets, it was noisy and clamorous.

The sounds of arguments, laughing curses, and soft moans rose and fell.

Crude and barbaric, yet carrying a 'vitality' unique to this race.

Some Goblin Divine Beings didn't even shy away, engaging in Breeding acts right at the edge of the streets, with no sense of order whatsoever.

This—was their civilization.
