Chapter 143: Arriving in the Northern Region

"Left Sword Envoy Yun Che, how are you?"

Mu Xueyan gently shook Left Sword Envoy Yun Che's body, asking anxiously.

Suddenly, Left Sword Envoy Yun Che flipped over and pinned Mu Xueyan to the ground; Mu Xueyan was completely caught off guard.

Half an hour later, Mu Xueyan covered her torn clothes and sobbed softly.

Left Sword Envoy Yun Che took out a set of intact clothes from his Storage Ring and gently draped them over Mu Xueyan, his heart filled with guilt.

"I'm sorry!"

Mu Xueyan glared at him angrily, tears shimmering in her eyes, "Sorry? You only know how to say you're sorry. After all this, are you still really thinking about that Meng Li? Am I worthless in your eyes!"

Left Sword Envoy Yun Che let out a long sigh, and the heavy stone in his heart finally fell.

He took a deep breath and said slowly, "I will take responsibility for you!"

This promise was like a bolt of lightning, piercing through the gloom in Mu Xueyan's heart.

Upon hearing this, a smile instantly bloomed on Mu Xueyan's face; she was so happy she felt like she could fly, and she nestled gently into Left Sword Envoy Yun Che's embrace.

"When we return to the Yunyin Sword Sect, I will have my father officiate our wedding."

Left Sword Envoy Yun Che's gaze, however, fell into a daze; Meng Li's image lingered in his mind, unable to be dispelled.

But he had no other choice now. He could only choose to respond to Mu Xueyan's expectations: "Okay!"

Meanwhile, Lin Fan was already carrying the delicate and soft Su Wanqing through the canyon, nearing Frost Town.

He gently set her down, a trace of reluctance involuntarily rising in his heart.

Su Wanqing's face was also filled with reluctance as she left Lin Fan's embrace.

"Ahead is Frost Town," Lin Fan said, his tone tinged with helplessness, "My status is special; I cannot keep carrying you."

Su Wanqing nodded gently, "It's fine, we can hug again when no one is around."

Her voice was as gentle as a spring breeze, causing a surge of warmth to rise in Lin Fan's heart.

The two walked toward Frost Town. At this moment, the surviving Disciples of the Tianji Pavilion and the Yunyin Sword Sect were also arriving one after another.

Their faces were filled with exhaustion and anxiety; after a fierce battle, they all had more or less sustained injuries.

Lin Chen and her team were busy bandaging and treating the wounds of these Disciples.

Since they were not in combat now, musical healing was not urgently needed. Only when encountering severely injured Disciples would bursts of healing melody be heard.

"Thank you!" a Tianji Pavilion Disciple said to Lin Chen gratefully.

"Thank you!" another Yunyin Sword Sect Disciple also expressed thanks, their eyes filled with gratitude and relief.

Lin Chen smiled sweetly, "It's nothing! This is what I should do."

She looked up and saw Lin Fan arriving from the distance with Su Wanqing. Her heart leaped with joy, and she couldn't help but exclaim, "Ances…"

Her words were instantly suppressed, and she immediately changed her tone, "Bai Fan, you've returned. I thought you really weren't going to care about them anymore; I didn't expect you…"

Lin Fan waved his hand without saying much and walked straight past the Disciples who were treating their wounds.

Seeing Lin Fan's figure, these Disciples said respectfully one after another, "Thank you, Young Master Bai!" "Thank you, Young Master Bai, for your righteous intervention!"

If not for Lin Fan's intervention, they would likely have already become cultivation resources for the Yao Beast commander. At this moment, Lin Fan's image in their hearts became infinitely towering.

Su Wanqing instinctively wanted to follow Lin Fan into the room, but reason made her stop her footsteps.

She turned and walked toward the Tianji Pavilion Disciples, immediately attracting their attention, and the Disciples bowed in unison.

Su Wanqing raised her chin and asked in a deep voice, "How many Disciples successfully broke through the encirclement? Where have Judge Lu and Zhao Xing gone?"

A Tianji Pavilion Disciple stepped forward and replied with a grave expression, "Reporting to the Heavenly Maiden, over one hundred people successfully broke through, with over twenty losses."

He paused and continued, "Lord Judge Lu and Lord Zhao Xing chose to stay behind to fend off the Yao Beast attacks and buy time for us to escape. We do not yet know their safety status."

Su Wanqing's heart sank instantly, and her face turned slightly pale, "I hope they are safe and sound."

By nightfall, Judge Lu and Zhao Xing arrived at Frost Town, dragging their exhausted bodies.

After being treated by the Disciples of the Xuanyin Qin Sect, they returned to the Tianji Pavilion team.

Meanwhile, Mu Xueyan and Left Sword Envoy Yun Che also returned safely.

Meng Li had originally been waiting quietly outside for Left Sword Envoy Yun Che to return, but when Left Sword Envoy Yun Che returned, he did not look at her once; instead, he followed closely behind Mu Xueyan and walked straight inside.

Mu Xueyan looked back at Meng Li, feeling a sense of triumph in her heart, and a smug smile curled at the corner of her lips.

Looking at the tightly closed door, Meng Li hugged the crystal bottle Lin Fan had given her and walked slowly back into her room.

In her room, Meng Li wept silently, her tears falling like broken pearls, streaming down continuously.

Her heart was filled with endless pain and regret; Lin Fan had already died twice because of her, and now, Left Sword Envoy Yun Che had also chosen to leave her.

Her former pride and hope had turned into despair at this moment; she felt as if she had lost all support.

Trembling, she walked toward the ceiling beam, holding a soft silk ribbon in her hand. She slowly tied a slipknot and gradually placed it around her neck.

Through tear-blurred eyes, she thought of everything from the past; beautiful memories and cruel reality intertwined, causing her heart to feel as if it were being cut by a knife.

Standing on a chair, she closed her eyes, ready to end it all.

Just then, Lin Fan was in another room, focused on consolidating his cultivation, when suddenly Xiao Du's notification sound rang in his ears: "Lin Fan, do you want to go check on Meng Li? She seems to be about to hang herself."

Upon hearing this, Lin Fan rolled his eyes, thinking Xiao Du was joking with him: "Stop making fun of me with things like this; she's perfectly fine, why would she go and hang herself?"

Xiao Du's voice, however, carried a hint of nervousness: "I am not lying to you, look."

No sooner had the words fallen than a projection suddenly appeared before Lin Fan. It was the perspective from the crystal bottle, clearly showing Meng Li standing on the chair, the ribbon already around her neck, with everything in the room presented clearly.

"So this crystal bottle is actually a camera? And a 360-degree, no-blind-spot kind at that?"

But Lin Fan didn't have time to think about this; he immediately jumped off the large bed, slammed open the door, and rushed straight to the room where Meng Li was.

His heartbeat accelerated, and Lin Fan felt a deep anxiety welling up in his heart. His footsteps were fast as he traversed the corridor. Seeing Meng Li's door right before him, he shoved the door open and locked his gaze on Meng Li in the center of the room.

Her body had already started trembling, the ribbon was almost completely taut, and the shadow of death was looming over her.

"Meng Li!" Lin Fan shouted, his voice filled with urgency and worry. He rushed over, grabbed her legs, pulled her down from the chair, and quickly untied the ribbon around her neck.

Meng Li's body fell weakly into Lin Fan's embrace, tears still streaming down continuously.

Lin Fan held her tightly in his arms and asked, "Have you lost your mind? Why would you do such a foolish thing?"

Meng Li raised her tear-blurred eyes and cried, "Ancestor, I have nothing left. Lin Fan… I caused his death twice, and now I have lost Left Sword Envoy Yun Che again. I really… cannot go on living…"
