Chapter 149: Burial Offering

In Chenyang City, inside a luxurious mansion with many rooms and bustling with voices, wails of pain erupted from one of the chambers.

"My son! You died such a miserable death! Rest assured, I will make the entire Qin Family serve as a burial offering for you."

A Middle-aged Man shouted, looking with heartache at his relative who had been dead for some time, clutching his chest as he spoke slowly.

"Come here! Prepare my son's funeral. I want to send my son off with the most grand funeral."

The Middle-aged Man shouted loudly.

"Yes!" The Servants of the Sima Family responded respectfully.

"Just wait. I will make everyone who caused your death serve as a burial offering. Didn't you like that girl from the Qin Family? I will send her to you immediately."

The Middle-aged Man covered the deceased with a white cloth and said in a voice only he could hear.

"Summon all the Elders of the Family for a meeting!" the Middle-aged Man ordered.

Turning around, the Middle-aged Man strode toward the Council Hall, where the Elders of the Family were already waiting for him outside the door.

Hearing his words, everyone headed toward the Council Hall; everyone knew that the Family Head was truly furious this time.

And the people related to the death of the Sixth Young Master were the best targets for his vent.

Soon, everyone arrived at the spacious Council Hall.

The Sima Family Head sat high at the head of the table, looking down at the twelve Elders, and spoke slowly: "Tell me properly about the sequence of events regarding my son's death."

"Yes!" An Elder stood up and began to recount the sequence of events in great detail.

Only two days had passed since the death of the Sima Sixth Young Master, yet in the Elder's words, the entire rise of the Qin Family, how they became the City Lord, and how they provoked the Sima Sixth Young Master were all described vividly, as if it had happened right in front of him.

"What about those guards?" the Sima Family Head asked upon hearing the Elder's report.

"Most of those guards have been captured, but there are still…" the Elder said, trembling.

"Some escaped?" The Sima Family Head's expression changed, and he asked in a deep voice.

"Those guards left too quickly; by the time I reacted…" the Elder stammered.

"Useless!" the Sima Family Head shouted: "What use is there in keeping you useless people if you can't even catch a few people?"

"How should we deal with the captured guards?" another Elder asked.

"Kill them!" the Sima Family Head waved his hand and said: "Kill their families along with them. My son is dead, so let them taste the feeling of losing a loved one as well."

"Yes… yes!" The Elder received the order, stood to the side, and said no more.

"After capturing all those guards, annihilate the Qin Family and make the entire Qin Family serve as a burial offering for my son. Alright, that is all. I am tired; you all go and rest as well!"

The Sima Family Head stood up and walked toward his bedroom.

The Servants he encountered on the way bowed and saluted; knowing their Family Head had lost a loved one, they were all trembling, afraid the Family Head would notice them and take his anger out on them.

But the Sima Family Head paid no attention to the Servants on the road, walked straight to his bedroom, and ordered: "Without my command, no one is allowed to come in and disturb me!"

"Yes!" The two maidservants guarding the bedroom door hurriedly bowed.

Pushing the door open and entering, what met the Sima Family Head's eyes was a painting containing a woman of extreme beauty.

The entire painting was vivid and lifelike, as if she were a real person, causing the Sima Family Head to become mesmerized for a moment.

"I am sorry. My son has died; he has probably already met you. It is my fault; I will send the entire Qin Family over to serve as a burial offering for him right now!"
