Chapter 168: Void Beast

When Su Yun stepped into the Void Realm rift again, he only brought one person: Third Demon General.

She was the Third Demon General, at the Void Refining Early Stage, having stayed in the Demon Abyss for hundreds of years, and her understanding of the Void Realm rift was deeper than that of Hongxiu and Fourth Demon General.

The two flew into the rift one after the other, and silver-white light engulfed them.

There was no direction in the Void Realm, so Third Demon General led Su Yun flying north based on her memory.

After flying for about a day, a shadow appeared ahead.

The shadow was massive, spanning across the Void Realm like a floating mountain.

Third Demon General stopped, her face turning pale.

"Master, that is the lair of the Void Beast. This subordinate once saw it from afar, but never dared to approach."

Su Yun nodded, told her to wait where she was, and flew over alone.

When he drew near to the shadow, he finally saw clearly what it was.

It was a massive skeleton, lying horizontally in the Void Realm, hundreds of zhang long, shaped like a Dragon, but thicker and more robust than a Dragon, with bone spikes covering its skeleton.

The surface of the skeleton was covered with a layer of silver-white light membrane, which flowed slowly as if it were alive.

The lair of the Void Beast was this skeleton.

The remains of an ancient giant beast had drifted in the Void Realm for who knows how many years, and the Void Beast had made it its home.

Su Yun landed on the skeleton; the bone spikes beneath his feet were thick, and it felt stable to step on.

He released his Divine Sense; his Void Refining Late Stage Divine Sense could only extend a hundred zhang in the Void Realm, but it was enough.

He sensed a powerful spiritual energy fluctuation deep within the skeleton, at the Lianxu Peak Stage, carrying violence and madness.

The Void Beast was inside.

He walked inward along the skeleton.

The bone spikes became denser, and the silver-white light membrane grew thicker.

When he reached the center of the skeleton, a huge cavity appeared ahead.

A giant beast lay inside the cavity.

It was entirely silver-white, shaped like a lion, but more than ten times larger than a lion.

Its body was covered with silver-white scales that shimmered in the Void Realm.

Its head was huge, its mouth taking up half of its head, revealing two rows of sharp fangs.

Its eyes were golden, vertical pupils, devoid of emotion, filled only with coldness and violence.

Lianxu Peak Stage.

The Void Beast sensed Su Yun's aura, raised its head, and stared at him with its golden vertical pupils.

It opened its mouth and let out a low roar.

The roar echoed in the Void Realm, shaking the skeleton.

Su Yun did not retreat.

He stepped forward and threw a punch.

The force of his punch, wrapped in Power of the Five Elements and Thunder Spirit Power, slammed into the Void Beast's head.

The Void Beast's head tilted, but it was not injured.

Its scales were too thick; a full-strength strike from a Void Refining Late Stage cultivator didn't even leave a white mark.

It shook its head, and a silver-white beam of light erupted from its mouth, shooting straight at Su Yun's face.

Su Yun dodged to the side; the beam of light grazed past him and struck a bone spike on the skeleton, causing the bone spike to explode on the spot, turning into scattered fragments.

Su Yun narrowed his eyes.

The Void Beast's attack power was very strong, but its speed was not fast.

He could use his speed advantage to wear it down slowly.

His figure flashed, appearing at the side of the Void Beast, and he struck with his palm.

This palm strike landed on the Void Beast's neck; it let out a low roar and turned its head to bite.

Su Yun had already flashed to its back and delivered another palm strike.

The Void Beast turned, and he flashed away again.

Man and beast grappled within the skeleton; Su Yun was like a nimble fly, circling the Void Beast, each strike landing on the same spot.

No matter how thick the Void Beast's scales were, they could not withstand repeated strikes.

After fighting for half an hour, the scales on the Void Beast's neck finally shattered, revealing the silver-white flesh underneath.

The Void Beast was enraged.

It roared at the sky, and the silver-white light around its body flared brilliantly.

The skeleton began to tremble, and those silver-white light membranes peeled off the skeleton and surged toward the Void Beast.

The light membrane covered its body, turning into an even thicker suit of armor.

Its aura climbed, soaring from the Lianxu Peak Stage, only a hair's breadth away from the Mahayana Stage.

Su Yun's expression changed.

The Void Beast was absorbing the power of the skeleton.

This skeleton was the remains of an ancient giant beast, and it contained residual power from the Mahayana Stage.

The Void Beast had lived here for who knows how many years and had long since merged with the skeleton.

He could not delay any longer.

He had to finish the battle quickly.

He mobilized all the power within his body—Power of the Five Elements, Thunder Spirit Power, Ice Soul Power, and Blood Fiend Power—fusing all four forces into one.

Behind him, two phantoms appeared.

One was ice blue, the other blood red.

True Monarch Bingpo and Blood-colored Girl poured all their power into his body.

His aura also began to climb, reaching the Void Refining Late Stage Peak, only a hair's breadth away from the Lianxu Peak Stage.

He stepped forward and slammed a punch onto the Void Beast's head.

This punch condensed all the power of himself and the two ancient Nascent Souls; with a loud boom, the Void Beast's head was knocked sideways, and cracks appeared on its silver armor.

Su Yun did not give it a chance to catch its breath, throwing another punch, then another, striking it over a dozen times in succession.

The Void Beast's armor shattered, exposing the silver-white flesh.

It let out a miserable scream and turned to flee.

Su Yun chased after it and struck the back of its head with his palm.

The Void Beast's vision went black, and its massive body collapsed with a crash, slamming into the skeleton, causing it to tremble violently.

Su Yun landed on its head and looked down at it.

The violence and madness were gone from the Void Beast's golden vertical pupils, leaving only fear and confusion.

Su Yun raised his hand and tapped his finger between its eyebrows.

Golden light flashed.

[Enslavement successful] [Obtained new slave: Void Beast (female), Loyalty 62] [Ding, congratulations to the host for receiving partial spiritual power feedback from Enslavement; cultivation base significantly increased]

The Void Beast's body stiffened, and the fear in its eyes gradually turned into submission.

It lowered its head and let out a low whimper.

Su Yun withdrew his hand and jumped down from its head.

The Void Beast struggled to stand up and followed behind him like a docile big dog.

Su Yun asked it where the key of the void was.

The Void Beast turned its head and walked toward the depths of the skeleton.

Su Yun followed behind.

After not walking for long, the Void Beast stopped in front of a bone spike and pawed at it.

Something was buried under the bone spike, the size of a fist, entirely silver-white, emitting a rich Power of the Void.

key of the void.

Su Yun bent down to pick it up; it felt cold to the touch and heavy.

He asked the Void Beast how this thing came to be, and the Void Beast whimpered a few times, gesturing with its claws.

Su Yun could not understand, but Third Demon General flew over and translated: "It says this key of the void was left behind by the owner of the skeleton. That ancient giant beast condensed this key when it fell, and it has been guarding it, waiting for someone to come and take it."

Su Yun nodded and put the key of the void into his Storage Ring.

He turned to look at the Void Beast. "Come with me."

The Void Beast whimpered and followed behind him.

Third Demon General looked at this giant beast, her face turning pale.

The Lianxu Peak Stage Void Beast had been beaten into submission by the Master punch by punch, and now it was following like a puppy.

She suddenly felt that the Master was truly capable of anything.

Su Yun took the Void Beast and Third Demon General and flew out of the Void Realm rift, landing on the land of the Northern Wilderness.

The Void Beast's body was too large, hundreds of zhang long, lying on the ground like a small mountain.

Su Yun thought for a moment and asked if it could shrink.

The Void Beast whimpered, and its body began to shrink, from hundreds of zhang to tens of zhang, then from tens of zhang to a few zhang, finally becoming a small beast the size of a calf, entirely silver-white, fluffy, and looking like a big cat.

Su Yun reached out and stroked its head; it narrowed its eyes and made a purring sound.

Su Yun flew back to Qinghe City with the Void Beast and Third Demon General.

Valley Master Su Yao was startled when she saw the Void Beast, and when she heard it was a Lianxu Peak Stage Yao Beast, her expression became even worse.

Su Yun said there was no need to be afraid, as it was now one of them.

Valley Master Su Yao was half-believing, and reached out to touch the Void Beast's head.

The Void Beast narrowed its eyes, enjoying it very much.

Su Yun sat down in the courtyard and took out the key of the void from his Storage Ring.

The silver-white key rotated slowly in his palm, emitting a rich Power of the Void.

He asked Third Demon General how to use this thing, and she shook her head.

Su Yun took out Master Void's Jade Slip again and read it over once more.

The Jade Slip stated that the key of the void was the only tool to open the gate to the Immortal Realm.

When using it, one only needed to insert the key into the keyhole on the gate and inject spiritual energy.

Su Yun nodded and put the key away.

He stood up and looked toward the north.

The gate to the Immortal Realm—he would go there again very soon.

This time, he would be able to open it.
