Chapter 17: Nightingale’s Hope (I)
Nightingale's body was soft and boneless, fitting against him seamlessly, like a leaf swaying in the wind in his arms.
Her tail playfully wrapped around Lin Fan's waist, bringing a unique sensation.
Nightingale's laughter, accompanied by gasps, sounded low in Lin Fan's ear: "You are indeed strong, worthy of being… the man who has captured my heart."
Nightingale's voice trembled more and more, yet it carried an undisguised pleasure.
The entire room was filled with the scent of their intimacy, the temperature gradually rising until everything returned to silence.
The night deepened, the lingering scent in the room had not yet fully dissipated, and the air was filled with an ambiguous warmth.
Nightingale leaned against Lin Fan's chest, her tail lazily wandering over his arm, as if playfully trying to catch his attention.
"Lin Fan," Nightingale spoke softly, her voice husky yet revealing a touch of satisfaction, "Do you know? I rarely open my heart to anyone like this."
Lin Fan looked down at her, his fingertips sliding through her golden hair: "It seems I am indeed special."
Nightingale raised her head, curling her lips slightly: "You are not only special, but also dangerous. I like men like this, powerful and unpredictable."
Lin Fan smiled, his tone calm: "Dangerous men also need loyal partners. Nightingale, will you be one?"
Nightingale's tail gently patted Lin Fan's waist, and she said delicately.
"If you can let me see hope, I think I will be your loyal partner, or even your woman."
Lin Fan stared at Nightingale with great interest, his gaze revealing a hint of inquiry and playfulness.
He had always had no resistance to such unrestrained and uninhibited women.
Especially Nightingale; the fiery charm she radiated made it almost impossible for him to ignore.
"Tell me, what is your hope." Lin Fan asked in a low voice, his mouth slightly upturned, as if admiring an exquisite work of art.
Nightingale propped up her upper body, her soft body lines as bewitching as a snake, her tail swaying lazily, seemingly sweeping across Lin Fan's chest intentionally or unintentionally.
Her eyes flashed with undisguised desire and ambition.
"Hope?" Nightingale chuckled, her tone carrying a hint of teasing, "What I want is very simple: power, freedom, and a man I can rely on."
Lin Fan raised an eyebrow, his tone indifferent yet concealing a hint of sarcasm: "Sounds ideal, but isn't this kind of hope too cheap?"
Nightingale approached him unhurriedly, propping her hands on his shoulders, leaning down close, her red lips almost touching his ear: "No, Lin Fan, my hope is never cheap."
Her voice was low and soft yet firm, "As long as you can realize my ambition, I am yours, whether as your partner or as your woman."
Lin Fan felt her breath and the closeness of her body, a flicker of interest flashing in his eyes.
He reached out and pinched her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze: "Nightingale, I admire your ambition. But remember, following me is not just about relying on me, but about proving your value."
Nightingale curled her lips into a confident smile: "Rest assured, I will definitely make you see that I am worth more than anyone else."
Lin Fan let go, stood up, and tidied his clothes.
He looked back at Nightingale, who was still lying lazily on the bed, his tone carrying a hint of command: "Be prepared; there will be plenty of opportunities for you to prove yourself."
Lin Fan walked out of the room, gently shaking his shoulders, as if the entanglement just now was just a casual pastime.
However, Xiao Du's voice in his ear made his footsteps pause: "Congratulations, Master. You have discovered the second clue to the imprisoned fate: Deprived Freedom. Continue to fulfill Nightingale's hope, and you may obtain evidence of the imprisonment."
Lin Fan frowned slightly, a cold smile curling on his lips, and he clicked his tongue softly: "'Deprived Freedom'? Quite fitting."
He pondered for a moment, his mind quickly connecting this clue with previous discoveries.
The first clue was "Arranged Fate," which he had vaguely glimpsed while at Tianji Pavilion, but could not delve deeper into because the clue was interrupted.
And this time, the hint given by Xiao Du was clearer; completing Nightingale's hope might allow him to touch the depths of the truth.
Lin Fan recalled Nightingale's words just now; she craved power and freedom, but this craving was permeated with a deep-seated helplessness and anger, as if hiding a past too painful to look back on.
"Freedom…" He murmured these two words, a hint of playfulness flashing in his eyes.
For Nightingale, what exactly was this so-called freedom? Was it escaping those behind-the-scenes manipulators, or breaking free from the rules of the Hell Arena? Or perhaps, was there an unknown secret hidden behind her blue-blood heart?
Lin Fan already had a plan in mind and turned to walk towards the underground passage of the Hell Arena.
He knew that if he wanted to help Nightingale achieve her so-called freedom, he would inevitably have to pry open the chain of interests behind those big shots, and this path was destined to be filled with blades and shadows.
"Xiao Du, just watch with peace of mind this time. I will fulfill her hope and, by the way, see who is actually controlling these chains of fate."
Lin Fan's mouth curled into a sharp smile, his steps steady yet carrying a fierce Aura, gradually disappearing into the shadows at the end of the passage.
Lin Fan sat back in the driver's seat of the starfire c9, his cold gaze sweeping over the rearview mirror, watching the small truck following closely behind.
Inside the car, Lei Ting's figure was vaguely visible. With mechanical precision, he gently brought two fingers to his temple, then extended his arm to make some kind of signal.
Lin Fan's heart stirred, and he instantly understood what Lei Ting meant.
Without any hesitation, he started the starfire c9 and drove the car slowly toward Star-Moon Manor.
The car moved steadily forward, and the truck followed closely behind, successfully entering the underground parking lot.
The iron gate of the parking lot opened automatically as they arrived. Blood Hammer, Carl, and dozens of other elite cybernetic warriors jumped off the vehicles, their movements swift and uniform.
Lin Fan's gaze swept over these cybernetic warriors, and his mind suddenly recalled the second clue provided by Xiao Du: Deprived Freedom.
This brought a sense of clarity to Lin Fan's heart. Lei Ting was the very person whose freedom he had deprived.
With this thought, Lin Fan had already made a decision.
He no longer hesitated and ordered in a low voice: "Mobile phone number 000, disable Lei Ting's main control chip and restore his memories and emotions."
"Executing, please wait… Beep beep beep! Fatal error encountered, cannot execute. Warning: Lei Ting's energy is directly connected to the main control chip. Once disabled, energy supply will cease, and Lei Ting will suffer shock and die due to power loss."
Lin Fan's eyes did not fluctuate in the slightest. His hand slowly reached into his inner coat pocket and took out an energy core flickering with blue light.
It was the one he had taken from his chest during their duel. The blue light appeared exceptionally bright in the dim parking lot.
Lin Fan's mouth curled slightly, and a meaningful smile flashed in his eyes: "Unexpectedly, it has come in handy so soon."
He held the energy core in his hand, looked coldly at Lei Ting, and prepared to hand this core over to him.
