Chapter 1753: The Tenth Sun of Immortal Astral, Stubborn Will! (First Update)
It was the sixth year since Wang Lin entered the void imbued with the Immortal Astral Laws. This year, the Immortal Astral Continent was peaceful; there were no wars, and the Ancient Dao and Immortal Clan had minimal friction with each other.
This year, several Prodigies blossomed with dazzling light across the Immortal Clan's Seventy-Two Immortal Continents, one of whom was named Yun Yifeng!
This year, the Imperial Venerable of the Immortal Emperor lineage, which nominally ruled all the Sects across the Immortal Clan's Seventy-Two Continents and inherited its Legacy from the Immortal Ancestor, emerged from tens of thousands of years of secluded cultivation. Half of the Immortal Astral Continent seemed to be enveloped in boundless Immortal Qi.
This year, some Cultivators from the Immortal Cave Realm quietly Reincarnated, their whereabouts unknown.
This year, the Thirty-Six Ancient Counties and the Three Ancient Lineages of the Ancient Dao also experienced little, passing the year very peacefully.
Each continent and county of the Immortal Astral Continent is equivalent to dozens of Immortal Cave Realms. Its vastness makes it difficult for ordinary Cultivators to leave their home continent or county even in a lifetime.
Especially between the Immortal and Ancient realms, there is a Heavenly River that obstructs. This Heavenly River contains strange powers and is home to extremely powerful Immortal Ancient Beasts. Only old monsters who are almost as old as heaven and earth can inhabit this Heavenly River, but they do not go too deep. Thus, this Heavenly River became the first chasm for all who wished to invade each other's territory!
This year thus flowed by peacefully.
Among the Immortal Clan's Seventy-Two Continents, one of the nine continents furthest from the Heavenly River was the Heavenly Ox Continent! If the geographical scope of this continent were shrunk countless times, one could vaguely discern that it subtly resembled an ox.
Hence, it was named Heavenly Ox.
This continent was relatively remote, infinitely far from the Immortal Emperor's capital city, Immortal Nether Continent. Long ago, it was mostly referred to as a land beyond civilization. This area was the eastern part of the Immortal Astral Continent, and together with the other eight continents, it was collectively known as the Eastern Continent!
The Eastern Continent had Nine Sects and Thirteen Schools, with the Purple Yang Sect at its head, the Donglin Sect being the most mysterious and unfathomable, and additionally, the Guiyi Sect, the Great Soul School, and so on, totaling twenty-one Sects, which were the most renowned Sects in the Immortal Clan's Eastern Continent of the Immortal Astral Continent.
Beyond these Nine Sects and Thirteen Schools, there were also some slightly smaller Sects, whose strength was secondary and could not compare to these twenty-one behemoths, not to mention that within the Purple Yang Sect, it was rumored that one of the Nine Yang Grand Heavenly Venerables resided.
Within the Heavenly Ox Continent, specifically, were the spheres of influence of the Great Soul School and the Guiyi Sect. The School founded by the Seven-Colored Immortal Venerable Su Dao was located in a secluded corner of this Heavenly Ox Continent.
Here, black mountains permeated, and amidst the rolling peaks, dense mountain forests could be seen. From afar, a fog-like poisonous miasma hung over the mountain forests, and birds and beasts were rare.
Within these mountains, there was a solitary peak, where the black Qi was thickest, lingering for tens of thousands of years. This peak was the mountain gate of the Seven Dao Sect. However, when the Immortal Cave closed back then, Su Dao sealed the Seven Dao Sect. Through the long years since, the Seven Dao Sect had declined, and there was not a single living being within it, enveloped by Death Qi.
This was also the place where the Immortal Cave Realm gate emerged.
Whether it was Yun Yifeng or Fan Shanlu, all those with Immortal Astral Bloodline who emerged from the Immortal Cave Realm appeared here, gazed at their familiar yet strange homeland, and then departed one by one.
One day in this sixth year, on this black Qi-shrouded mountain peak, if one's gaze could penetrate the thick mist, one could see numerous pavilions within. At the summit of the peak, there was a grand hall, which was once the main hall of the Seven Dao Sect and also the place where the Seven-Colored Immortal Venerable cultivated in seclusion.
On this day, outside the grand hall at the mist-shrouded mountain peak, a figure silently materialized. It was a young man in a black robe, who, despite his youthful appearance, carried the vicissitudes of time.
He was Xuan Luo!
Xuan Luo gazed at the Seven Dao Sect's grand hall, faintly discernible through the mist, and slowly sat down cross-legged.
"Wang Lin, everyone has already Reincarnated. I cannot control the time of their rebirth; perhaps it will take several years, or even a thousand years for them to appear… but they are safe." Xuan Luo sighed softly, looking at the grand hall. Vaguely, he seemed to see Wang Lin, struggling against the Immortal Astral Laws in the void behind the grand hall, trying to break free.
"There's less than four years left, my disciple. Your master has done all he can to help you… Now, you must rely on yourself…" Xuan Luo slowly closed his eyes. In the center of his brows, a faint red glow flickered, which was the direction guiding Wang Lin so he wouldn't get lost.
In the void layer between the Immortal Cave Realm and the Immortal Astral Continent, Wang Lin's face was pale. With both hands forming Hand Seals, the Dao Ancient power within him continuously circulated throughout his body, resisting the crushing force that surged madly from all directions.
This power was now indescribably immense. If it weren't for the Mosquito Beast still moving forward beneath him, Wang Lin would have stopped here. Even the Mosquito King had slowed down considerably, struggling amidst the pressure, occasionally letting out silent roars.
Wang Lin's eyes were bloodshot. His Origin power was completely depleted, shriveled within his body without replenishment, unable to be used again. The only means left to resist the Immortal Astral Laws was his Dao Ancient body.
He hadn't seen even a single remnant in this void for a year, clearly indicating that those who could ultimately reach this place were extremely rare.
The Blood Dragon on Wang Lin's body had long since dissipated, and even the red mark formed on his glabella was now almost too faint to be seen.
Seven years had been extremely difficult for Wang Lin, especially since he had to protect his wife behind him, Li Muwan. Thus, every day he endured more pain.
But he had no regrets!
One month, two months, three months… In a flash, another year passed. On this day of the eighth year, the crushing force surged violently, and the entire void seemed to solidify, pressing down on him, causing blood to constantly spill from Wang Lin's mouth. His eyes had already blurred, and he vaguely understood that he was about to give out.
With a bitter smile, Wang Lin laboriously raised his right hand and placed it on the head of the Mosquito King beneath him, who was also struggling forward. For these past eight years, the Mosquito King had been a constant companion. Wang Lin could tell that this place might truly be the beast's ancestor's homeland; it was clearly more adapted here than Wang Lin.
However, it was not born here after all. Perhaps it could fully adapt here after countless years, but for now, it still couldn't enter the depths of this void.
Having been forced to enter, the Mosquito Beast was now utterly exhausted. It still needed to fuse with more Immortal Astral Laws, evolving and transforming repeatedly to return to its ancestral, ferocious state.
"Don't go crazy with me… Since this is your homeland, then stay here… You've accompanied me for over two thousand years, today, you… go…"
The Mosquito King trembled all over, letting out a roar. This roar echoed through the silent void in all directions, and the sound of the roar conveyed an intention. This intention was its first time disobeying Wang Lin's words; it did not want to leave Wang Lin. It wanted to use all its strength, even if it meant death, to send Wang Lin further!
Wang Lin's face showed a smile. Although he was enduring immense pain, this smile was very happy. Shaking his head, he slowly stood up. This simple action was also extremely difficult for him at this moment.
The moment he stood up, Wang Lin's eyes revealed a sharp glint that had been absent for a long time. A loud bang erupted from within his body, as his Dao Ancient power fully erupted, granting him the temporary strength to leave on his own at that instant.
Forming Hand Seals with his right hand, without allowing the Mosquito King to refuse, he directly slapped the beast's head. As the Mosquito Beast's body violently shook and was restrained, abruptly stopping its advance, Wang Lin leaped up, transforming into a long rainbow, and whistled forward.
"Go! This is your homeland, don't worry about me!" Wang Lin's voice was resolute. As he moved forward, he flicked his sleeve, and the other nine Mosquito Beasts immediately flew out, heading straight for the Mosquito King.
In that instant of stopping and moving, the distance between Wang Lin and the Mosquito King rapidly widened. A mournful roar reached his ears; it was the Mosquito King's cry, sounding like a child separated from its parents, letting out a desperate wail.
Wang Lin's heart was pierced by this sound, but he did not look back. Instead, he exerted all his strength, rushing forward madly. He understood that this time, he would face certain death, so why implicate the Mosquito Beast?
Behind him, the Mosquito King broke free from its restraint, its eyes bloodshot, and it charged forward like a mad beast. It did not want to leave Wang Lin, even if it died here, it wanted to die by its master's side.
But with Wang Lin's speed, especially the gentle palm he had placed on the Mosquito Beast's head earlier, it had transformed into ten layers of restraint, repeatedly appearing to prevent the Mosquito Beast from moving forward.
Ten successive stops caused the distance between the Mosquito Beast and Wang Lin to instantly stretch infinitely. No matter how the Mosquito Beast pursued, it could no longer find its master.
That sorrowful roar echoed in the void, spreading for an infinite distance. In the void ahead, Wang Lin struggled forward, still hearing the Mosquito Beast's mournful cries in his ears. He turned his head, took a deep look behind him, then gritted his teeth and continued forward.
After chasing for a long time, the Mosquito King still couldn't find Wang Lin. Its body trembled, and amidst the violent crushing force, it slowly stopped. But it did not give up; instead, it suddenly turned around, taking the nine Mosquito Beasts with it, and flew back rapidly. It wanted to fuse with more of the Qi of this place, to evolve into its ancestral state as quickly as possible. Only then could it search for its master in this void at an even faster speed!
The time was the ninth year!
It had been a year since Wang Lin separated from the Mosquito Beast. Wang Lin's body was exhausted to its limit. He took heavy steps, using all his strength to protect his wife behind him. His eyes were dull, but there was an astonishing will within them.
This will was a rebellious spirit he had possessed for a very long time!
More than two thousand years ago, as a Mortal child, his blood stained the steps in front of the Hengyue Sect as he climbed, refusing to give up. More than two thousand years later, he was still that stubborn Wang Lin!
