Chapter 181: A Spar Between Two Supremes

The world stopped.

It was silent.

So silent that one could hear one's own heartbeat.

Even though it was the liveliest New Year of the year, there was only silence all around, as if the bustling wind and snow and the noisy human voices had all been blocked out by the power of the three Supremes.

At the same time.

Within that absolute silence,

an inexplicable chill seeped through, reaching deep into the soul and making one shiver.

"Hello, I am Xu Moli."

"Hello, I am Wu Yingxue."

Under Xu Xi's gaze, the two girls shook hands amicably. Although they were strangers meeting for the 'first time', they appeared extremely harmonious.

Wu Yingxue had a smile on her face, a very bright one.

Xu Moli smiled as well, but there was a chill hidden within her smile.

"Brother, could you go inside the house first?"

"This Young Miss Yingxue and I hit it off immediately, and I can't help but want to chat and spar with her."

Hit it off immediately?

Listening to his well-behaved younger sister's request,

Xu Xi wanted to say something but held back, then wanted to say it again but held back again; he felt that something wasn't quite right.

"It's fine, Sir, you go inside first."

"As it happens, I am also very curious about just how strong your sister is."

The two sides, with great tacit understanding, did not mention what had happened in the Chaos, only smiling and telling Xu Xi that they felt a bit restless and wanted to spar.

Xu Xi looked at his sister on the left,

then at the princess on the right.

Seeing that there was truly no murderous intent between them, he nodded in agreement, relieved.

"Go ahead, but don't take too long."

After saying this,

the two girls vanished before Xu Xi, heading off to who-knows-where, leaving only the wind and snow to fall once more, gently drifting into Xu Xi's hands.

Slowly spreading out,

meticulously extending,

covering the entire Courtyard in a silver coat.

"Hit it off immediately? Mo Li is certainly good at making excuses… With that attitude, could it be that there was already bad blood between them?"

"This is something I didn't foresee."

"Both of them aren't children; I assume they will know when to hold back."

Xu Xi looked at the empty Courtyard, lost in thought.

He walked toward the inside of the house, intending to prepare the New Year's Eve dinner, but just as he reached the kitchen, he discovered a busy figure.

The light was yellowish, casting obliquely on the gray-silver long hair on her shoulders, draping it in a delicate radiance, like thin gauze, like silk threads, complementing the items in the kitchen.

"Mentor?"

The witch noticed Xu Xi's arrival.

She stopped what she was doing.

She turned to look at Xu Xi, her beautiful eyes reflecting Xu Xi's figure.

"Klisa, what is this?"

Xu Xi walked into the kitchen.

Amidst the cluttered kitchenware and ingredients, he saw several dishes that were already prepared, emitting heat, with their aroma rising, looking particularly tempting.

The indifferent witch stood beside the dishes.

She held a small spatula in her hand.

In the silence, she appeared adorably dazed.

"I… am… for… Mentor…" She blinked her eyes, looking at Xu Xi with her hollow gaze, "preparing… the New Year's Eve dinner."

After finishing,

the witch turned around again, holding the small spatula to stir-fry.

Once, then again, her precise, unchanging movements caused the cooking fumes to churn.

This made Xu Xi recall, in the second simulation, the witch's terrible cooking skills and the several kitchen explosions.

As of today,

the witch's cooking skills had become much better, and she would no longer cause the kitchen to explode, which was something to be celebrated.

Xu Xi chuckled and took the spatula from the witch's hand: "Let me do it, Klisa."

"Eh…"

"You've already done enough. Alright, go and rest now."

Xu Xi felt that on this most important New Year's Eve, if he only let the witch be responsible for the New Year's Eve dinner, it would be a bit like exploitation.

Besides,

Xu Xi also wanted to cook some delicious food himself to embellish the important New Year's Eve.

"…Yes," Klisa obeyed Xu Xi's words. She took a few steps back, clasped her hands over her lower abdomen, and stood perfectly upright, watching Xu Xi's busy figure.

The sizzling sound of cooking fumes.

The sound of ingredients being stir-fried.

These sounds were extremely attention-grabbing.

The witch turned a blind eye to all that; she just stood quietly in place, watching the back of the "Light".

And when the "Light" needed it, she would timely offer various seasonings or ingredients.

"Mentor… let me wipe that for you…"

"Mentor… the chili is here…"

"Mentor… please have some water…"

The witch was busy.

Xu Xi had taken over the preparation of the New Year's Eve dinner from the witch's hands, but the witch could always find opportunities to make herself busy.

While being meticulous, she was also a bit amusingly clumsy, helping Xu Xi in her own unique way.

She had always been like this; she didn't like to be idle and was always thinking about doing something for Xu Xi.

In the end, it was Xu Xi who spoke up, telling Klisa to sit down and rest, and only then did she quietly sit on the dining chair, no longer making any moves.

However, those three-colored eyes of gold, black, and red would still follow Xu Xi's figure as it moved.

"Klisa, you can go do other things first. When dinner is ready, I will call you."

"…Yes."

Faced with Xu Xi's words,

Klisa nodded blankly in agreement.

But she still sat in place, quietly watching Xu Xi busy in the kitchen, watching the trajectory of the Light.

It wasn't that she didn't listen to Xu Xi's words, but rather that all of Klisa's affairs were related to Xu Xi; therefore, the obedient witch remained motionless.

"Mentor, please let me help."

Klisa didn't like just sitting there; she made a request to Xu Xi. "I want to do something for you."

"This…"

In the end, amidst Klisa's repeated requests, Xu Xi agreed to let her help, continuing to be responsible for handing over seasonings and ingredients.

"Yes, I understand," Klisa listened carefully to Xu Xi's order.

Soon, with the witch's cooperation, the rich New Year's Eve dinner was successfully completed.

Boiled, fried, stewed, stir-fried.

All kinds of dishes, everything one could ask for.

The tall, vertical window of the kitchen reflected the overhead light, further increasing the visibility in the room, illuminating the sheen on the surface of every dish, making them look even more tempting.

Klisa waved her small hand gently, and those prepared dishes were sent to the dining table out of thin air, saving the trouble of carrying the dishes by hand.

The dining table was wide and flat, with dishes emitting heat, blurring the cold of winter, and also making Klisa's eyes a bit blurry.

"It seems…"

The familiar scene made the witch recall the first New Year she spent with Xu Xi.

It was the same: Xu Xi took over the cooking work from the witch.

It was the same: a table full of New Year's Eve dinner.

It was the same: only the two of them in the kitchen.

But the witch knew that this beauty was only temporary; in the real world, she was not the only one who yearned for the warm sunlight.

Her slender fingertips were subconsciously rubbing together.

That was the witch's bewildered heart.

She had never thought of monopolizing anything; she just simply wanted to once again watch that familiar face and wait for his new orders.

However, the witch realized one thing, a very serious thing.

If she didn't do anything, the brilliance of the sun would be shared by others; she didn't want… she didn't want that.
