Chapter 184: Soul Sea

No one wanted to know what was inside, and no one wanted to get close.

In such a dangerous place, if one were to approach and be attacked by that endless ocean of souls, anyone below the Yin Void or Yang Solid Realm would likely be torn apart in an instant!

At this moment, right in the center of that endless Soul Sea, a figure in red floated silently.

Deep within the endless Soul Sea, Hong Die sat cross-legged in the center of that surging black ocean. Her red clothes were like blood, and the Five Spirits circled around her, swimming slowly around her body like a silent barrier.

She closed her eyes, her aura steady, forming a subtle balance with the surging Soul Sea around her. She was the center of this sea, and she was also its anchor.

For some time now, she had been traveling through the starry sky, using the soul banner to collect souls.

The war between the two domains was in full swing. Every day, countless Cultivators fell, and their souls drifted in the Void Realm. She simply followed that aura and collected them along the way, having already gathered over ten billion souls in just a short period.

The number of souls the soul banner could contain had almost reached its limit; to continue collecting would cause it to go out of control.

Therefore, she stopped here and sat cross-legged, stabilizing the Soul Sea while waiting to decide on her next step.

Fortunately, the Loose Devil was there. Back then, to prevent the soul banner from losing control due to too many souls, Chu Yuan had used his methods to turn the Loose Devil into the Master Soul of the soul banner.

The requirement for the soul banner was very simple: the Master Soul must be able to suppress the combined power of all other souls.

The essence of the Loose Devil was extremely high, and it was constantly improving under the nourishment of endless Soul Power. To ensure it could suppress the other souls, Hong Die even fed some useless souls to the Loose Devil, making its foundation even deeper.

Now, the individual power of the Loose Devil had reached the Peak of the Kui Nie Stage.

If the power of all other Master Souls were combined, the power of the Loose Devil could even approach the Pure Nirvana Realm.

If not for this war, it would have been impossible for her to collect so many Master Souls so easily.

Unfortunately, the foundation of the soul banner was still too weak to contain more souls.

Otherwise, with the scale of this war, the number of collected souls would be far more than ten billion.

Back then, a single battle on Suzaku Planet allowed the soul banner to collect one billion Master Souls.

If a single battle within a planet could do that, what about this war that affected the entire Star Domain?

What of one hundred billion? As long as the conditions were met, one hundred billion souls could still be easily collected.

"It seems I will have to ask Teacher to help upgrade this soul banner later."

It was a pity she did not know Artifact Refining, otherwise she would have done it herself.

She did not know if Teacher could do it. If not, the upper limit of the soul banner would end there.

With a thought, Hong Die took out thousands of small banners.

These soul banners were all made by her casually. Their ability to contain souls was far inferior to the soul banner, but each could contain ten million souls without a problem. They could serve as a temporary substitute, and she would transfer the souls within them to the soul banner in the future.

Outside, there were still many souls being drawn by a mysterious summons, rushing towards this area.

Hong Die raised her hand to form a seal, and the Liu Jia Qi Men Array expanded, using the surrounding Star Domain as its boundary.

This array was not for killing or trapping enemies, but only for attraction.

What it attracted was souls!

When not focusing on killing or trapping enemies, the range that the Six Jia Qi Men could cover was immense, enough to shroud a large area of the Star Domain.

At this rate, reaching one hundred billion was only a matter of time.

Meanwhile, in the Void Realm far from where Hong Die was.

Two men were following a large mass of souls, flying towards the area where Hong Die was.

The leader was dressed in a green robe, with a thin face and sharp eyes; the other man was wearing a dark gray tight-fitting outfit and had a burly figure.

As they flew, they talked in low voices.

"The flow of souls in this area is becoming increasingly abnormal. It is clearly being guided by someone with great means."

The man in the green robe narrowed his eyes.

"I noticed long ago that after Cultivators in the territory died, their souls would fly in this direction. Such a massive amount, endless and inexhaustible—could it be the work of someone from the Alliance Star Domain again?"

The man in gray snorted coldly: "It is probably another evil Cultivator. We, the Cultivators of Luo Tian Star Domain, do not have such soul-collecting techniques. Such evil methods—we had better investigate first."

He paused, then added another sentence.

"Let's go and take a look first."

The two men increased their speed and traveled through the void.

In just a few days, they arrived at the edge of the Star Domain where Hong Die was. From afar, they saw that cloud of souls resembling a nebula. The pitch-black Soul Sea surged ceaselessly, covering a large area of the Void Realm, like a galaxy made of souls spanning across the starry sky.

Both men shuddered at the same time and looked at each other, both seeing unconcealable shock in the other's eyes.

"So many souls… how many must there be?"

The voice of the man in the green robe was a bit dry.

"I'm afraid it's over several billion, right?"

"More than that."

The man in gray had a grave expression and shook his head.

"At this soul density, I fear it has long exceeded ten billion."

The two were silent for a moment, and finally, the man in the green robe spoke: "We must report this immediately. Once this number of souls erupts, the power will be terrifyingly extreme. If this is the work of someone from the Alliance, our Luo Tian Star Domain might suffer in the future war!"

Neither of them suggested going closer to investigate.

Their cultivation was only at the Late Stage of the Yang Solid Realm. If they were entangled by such a massive amount of souls, they would undoubtedly die.

They had a clear understanding of their own strength; at least a Senior at the Kui Nie Stage would be needed to investigate.

They turned around and sped away along the path they had come, moving even faster than when they arrived.

Another day passed, and those two figures appeared again at the edge of this Star Domain. Beside them, however, was an additional person: an old man with gray-white hair and beard, dressed in a dark purple robe, his aura steady, far beyond what those two could compare to.

He floated in the Void Realm, his gaze sweeping over the surging black Soul Sea ahead. His pupils shrank slightly, and then he said in a deep voice: "It truly is a massive Soul Sea. You did well."

He paused, and his tone became a bit deeper.

"This Soul Sea is by no means simple. Such a great array, absorbing such a massive amount of souls, could never be done by one person. I fear it really is the work of someone from the Alliance."

Although he said this, his gaze never left the surging Soul Sea.

"However, most of them are just ordinary souls. I will investigate first."

Before he finished speaking, his massive Divine Thought surged out like a tide, piercing violently into the depths of the Soul Sea.

The moment his Divine Thought touched the Soul Sea, it was as if a thin needle had pierced the skin of a sleeping giant beast.

The previously slowly surging Soul Sea suddenly paused. Then, ten billion souls turned their heads at the same time, and thousands upon thousands of hollow gazes fell simultaneously in the direction of the old man.

Those gazes were not sharp, but they carried a kind of neatness and unity that made one's scalp tingle, as if the entire Soul Sea had come alive in the same instant.

The old man's expression changed suddenly: "Not good! It's actually so sensitive!"

He did not have time to think too much; he grabbed the two people beside him and retreated violently.

However, those souls did not pursue. They only stayed in place for an instant, then fell back into the Soul Sea like smoke blown away by the wind. After surging for a moment, it returned to its previous calm.
