Chapter 196: Tian’er Is Your Younger Brother
"Senior, I beg you, please save my son."
The two people who arrived at this moment, a man and a woman, were kneeling before Kong Ping, begging sorrowfully.
This caught Kong Ping off guard, and he did not understand what was going on.
The two who arrived were none other than the husband and wife, Xiao Yuan and Wei Xia.
Although Xiao Tian had been treated by Shou Yuanzhong, he had only barely managed to cling to life. A gaping bloody hole had appeared in his chest, and through it, one could see his heart beating with a "thump, thump" sound.
Furthermore, it was not even a complete heart; a piece of it had been shattered.
"Senior, please have mercy and save my son." Wei Xia clutched the hem of Kong Ping's robe, begging sorrowfully.
Xiao Fan remained silent, his expression blank, as if none of this had anything to do with him.
Nearby, Long Miaoyin stood behind him, silently sizing up Xiao Fan's parents.
However, the members of the Dragon family nearby could no longer hold back.
"I'm telling you, have you no shame? Why should he save your son?"
It was Long Caiwei who spoke up: "It was your son who severely injured my brother-in-law…"
"Exactly! Get lost quickly! Why should he save your son?"
"You people from the Xiao Family are shameless, ptoo!"
The members of the Dragon family began to curse.
The entire Dragon family hated the Xiao Family with a passion. They had injured their Old Ancestor and imprisoned a group of their direct descendants and female family members in dog cages, hanging them outside the City Lord's Mansion.
This was a bloody humiliation.
Kong Ping, standing to the side, suddenly furrowed his brows as if he had realized something, his expression turning gloomy.
Xiao Fan had returned because of the threat from his younger brother, and people from the Piaomiao Immortal Palace had intervened.
With his level of cultivation, when he arrived outside Jingchuan City, he had naturally sensed Xiao Tian's presence elsewhere.
He was also severely injured, even more so than Xiao Fan.
Kong Ping did not speak. He had already guessed the identities of the man and woman before him: Xiao Fan's biological parents.
"You… your Dragon family shouldn't bully others too much!" Xiao Yuan spoke viciously, glaring at the surrounding members of the Dragon family.
Wei Xia was even less willing to give up. She glared viciously at Xiao Fan before turning to kneel before Kong Ping, wailing:
"Sir, if you can save this little beast, why can't you save my son? I beg you, please save my son!"
Upon hearing this, the members of the Dragon family were not angry, but stunned. Right in front of an Elder of the Jixian Sect, you call Xiao Fan a little beast?
Hearing this, the previously expressionless Xiao Fan's eyes turned cold, though he still remained silent.
After hearing this, Kong Ping's face darkened even further.
"Get lost! Why should this old man save him?!"
As he spoke, Kong Ping waved his hand, sending a surge of Qi from his sleeve that knocked Wei Xia, who was clutching his pant leg, back several yards.
However, he did not actually injure Wei Xia; after all, she was Xiao Fan's biological mother. No matter how estranged the mother and son were, it was still their family affair.
Wei Xia was stunned. Xiao Yuan was also stunned, as he had originally intended to go over and beg for help as well.
But Kong Ping's actions left him frozen in place.
The reason she and Xiao Yuan had come over was that they had seen an old man suddenly appear here, and he seemed to have fed Xiao Fan something that allowed him to stand up.
They had no idea who Kong Ping was, nor did they have time to consider his identity before rushing over to beg for help.
"This… Sir, why do you only save this little beast and not my son?!"
Wei Xia was, after all, a simple-minded woman, and she had not yet had time to think things through.
Xiao Yuan, however, took two steps back, his face turning ashen. He had thought of a possibility.
Kong Ping furrowed his brows and remained silent, but his expression was extremely grim—a rare sight for him.
The surrounding members of the Dragon family remained silent; they could tell that Kong Ping was angry.
Long Caiwei, however, did not care about that. She stepped forward and mocked Wei Xia, "Ptoo, you old hag! What right do you have to call my brother-in-law a little beast? Besides, this Senior is an Elder of the Jixian Sect, and he came specifically for my brother-in-law. Why should he save your son?"
"What! Someone from the Jixian Sect!" Upon hearing this, Wei Xia nearly fainted from anger.
Xiao Yuan, however, did not react much, though his face turned even more ashen. It was just as he had suspected: the other party was from the Jixian Sect, which was why he had immediately treated Xiao Fan upon arrival.
At this moment, Wei Xia and Xiao Yuan looked up at Kong Ping. His expression was cold, and he did not even glance at them.
However, Kong Ping inadvertently cast an appreciative look toward Long Caiwei, thinking that this girl was not bad and knew how to handle things well.
Given the current situation, begging the other party to treat Xiao Tian was simply impossible. Moreover, Xiao Tian's injuries were so severe that he might not even have half his life left.
Suddenly, Wei Xia looked at Xiao Fan, as if she had thought of something.
Without even taking the time to stand up, she scrambled across the ground and rushed directly in front of Xiao Fan.
The surrounding people were stunned, and even Xiao Fan was taken aback. He wanted to retreat, but his injuries were too severe; he could only manage two weak steps backward before Wei Xia grabbed him.
Wei Xia grabbed Xiao Fan's lower leg, tears streaming down her face as she pleaded, "Xiao Fan, I beg you, ask your sect's Senior to save your younger brother!"
"Tian'er is your own younger brother, after all…"
