Chapter 1961: Dim Lights, Prince Jidu

"As for the truth of this matter, this humble one does not know. However, since Prince Jidu is accompanying this delegation, it must be that the Ancestral Emperor has agreed to it. Otherwise, the City Lord would not have ordered the city to be sealed," the big man said one by one.

"Selecting a concubine?" Wang Lin was startled and didn't think much of it. He just felt that it was absurd for the Emperor of the Dao Ancient Lineage, whom he was destined to protect, to send a delegation to the other two ancient kingdoms just to choose a concubine.

"However, since I can meet people from the Dao Ancient Lineage here, they must have a detailed map to the dao ancient Twelve Prefectures, which saves me the trouble of searching." After pondering for a moment, Wang Lin was about to ask more questions when his expression changed. He looked up at the city and saw footsteps coming from within. Soon after, two teams of ancient clan soldiers wearing green Armor swiftly emerged from the city gate.

These two teams, numbering nearly a thousand, immediately lined up outside the city gate, exuding a dense Evil Qi. From within the city gate, three people walked out.

The foremost of the three was a burly man, nearly ten feet tall, significantly taller than others. He wore golden Armor, had red skin, and an imposing demeanor without needing to be angry. He strode out with large steps.

To the left behind this golden-armored man was a middle-aged man who resembled a Cultivator, dressed in a green robe, with an otherworldly aura and an extremely handsome appearance.

This man had a three-strand beard on his chin, fair skin, and held a black fan in his hand. Although he seemed ethereal, a strange demonic aura swirled within his eyes, especially his left eye, where a cloud of mist revolved, making it very peculiar.

The last person stood to the right of the golden-armored man. This was a young man in black, with a cold expression that couldn't hide his underlying brutality and murderous intent. He stood there as if flames, though extremely cold, burned both inside and outside his body.

The two clearly deferred to the golden-armored man. As this man walked out past the two teams of ancient clan soldiers and stood at the very front, he was about to gaze into the distance when he suddenly seemed to sense something. He abruptly turned his head and looked at Wang Lin!

Not just him, but the two behind him also turned their heads almost simultaneously. As their gazes focused on the nine star points on Wang Lin's forehead, all three of their eyes flashed.

"Greetings, Divine City Lord, Demon Saint, and Devil Saint!" The two leather-armored men beside Wang Lin, and the five similar big men outside the city gate, immediately knelt on one knee without hesitation, extremely respectful.

However, the golden-armored man paid no attention. He looked at Wang Lin, his eyes showing confusion.

"This Fellow Daoist is quite unfamiliar. I am Liang Yun, the City Lord of Blackrock City. May I ask, Fellow Daoist, if you need any assistance in my Blackrock City?" The golden-armored man cupped his fist towards Wang Lin.

"I am Kong Si." The middle-aged man in the green robe with demonic eyes smiled and likewise cupped his fist towards Wang Lin.

Only the black-clad youth glanced at Wang Lin, remaining silent with a cold expression.

"I am Wang Lin. I happened to pass through this place and heard that Prince Jidu and the dao ancient delegation were approaching, so I stayed to observe. If Your Excellency is unwilling, then I, Wang, shall depart," Wang Lin said with a smile, cupping his fists.

He did not show any arrogance despite his high cultivation and status. Wang Lin's character had always been to treat others with courtesy if they were polite to him.

"A guest has arrived, Brother Wang. Stay and wait with us," the golden-armored man laughed heartily, appearing very frank.

Looking at the other party, especially feeling the Ancient God Power emanating from the big man, Wang Lin felt a sense of familiarity. He smiled and took a step forward, arriving beside the three.

"Brother Wang is also a Divine Saint. You must have passed the Second Tribulation and should have reached the stage of demon-melting and devil-refining. I wonder how your progress is?" The golden-armored man looked at Wang Lin and said with a smile.

"Demon-melting and devil-refining?" Wang Lin's heart stirred, but his expression remained normal. He shook his head with a smile, saying nothing.

"The difficulty of Penetration, Melting, and Refining is not so easily overcome. Judging by his appearance, with no Demonic Qi emanating from him, he must still be in the exploratory stage. Liang Yun, your words are as good as not asking," the black-clad youth, who had remained silent, said coldly. His gaze swept over Wang Lin, revealing a hint of disdain.

"Meng Luo!" The golden-armored man frowned, glanced at the black-clad youth, then cupped his fist towards Wang Lin and said with a wry smile.

"I'm sure Brother Wang has noticed that Meng Luo is a Devil Saint with a slightly difficult temper. Please don't take it to heart, Brother Wang. The art of Penetration, Melting, and Refining is indeed too difficult. Liang, I, myself, haven't made much progress either," the golden-armored man said with an apologetic look.

"No matter," Wang Lin smiled faintly. He truly didn't mind such trivial matters.

The group chatted for a while longer. The golden-armored man and the Demon Saint Kong Si seemed to be probing Wang Lin's origins in their conversation, but they ultimately didn't uncover anything.

Gradually, the group lost interest in further conversation and slowly fell silent.

The silence didn't last long. Wang Lin seemed to sense something and casually looked up at the sky. Kong Si had been observing Wang Lin, and noticing his movement, he also looked up, but found nothing in the sky.

But just as he was about to withdraw his gaze, his expression immediately froze. The golden-armored man and the black-clad youth also looked up at the sky, their expressions showing reverence and fanaticism.

At that instant, the sky changed color, winds and clouds surged, and layers of ripples suddenly appeared, echoing in all directions. A heaven-shattering roar exploded, and a giant fist appeared out of thin air, smashing towards the firmament.

As the roar continuously spread, the firmament seemed to collapse, with more and more ripples. The Rifts in the firmament multiplied, until finally, it was as if two palms pierced through from behind the firmament, tearing open the sky and revealing a massive Rift across the entire firmament.

A massive azure phantom, tens of thousands of feet tall with a single horn on its head, tore open the firmament and stepped out!

The azure phantom wore azure Armor and exuded monstrous Devilish Qi. This Devilish Qi was so dense that it transformed into a thick mist, enveloping all directions and spreading endlessly.

This was indeed an Ancient Demon! Its eyes were blood-red, filled with ferocity. Upon appearing, it immediately roared to the sky. As it roared, the Ancient Demon took huge strides, fully emerging from the Rift, and with a thunderous crash, it stomped on the ground!

As its foot struck the ground, a wave of Qi carrying countless dust particles spread outwards, rolling back like a tidal wave, as if a fierce wind was blowing in their faces.

Wang Lin looked at the Ancient Demon, his heart trembling, his eyes shining brightly.

"This… this is no ordinary Ancient Demon!" Wang Lin immediately saw through it. He had seen Ancient Demons in the Immortal Cave Realm before, but those Ancient Demons, like Ancient Gods, appeared like ordinary people if they didn't reveal their true forms.

But even when they revealed their true forms, they would retain their consciousness and not fall into madness. Most importantly, the Demonic Qi erupting from this Ancient Demon's body gave Wang Lin a sense of power comparable to a Heavenly Venerate Cultivator in the Immortal Clan.

"Greetings, Royal Prince!" As the tens of thousands of feet tall Ancient Demon stomped on the ground and roared to the sky with earth-shattering sound, the golden-armored man, along with the Demon Saint and the black-clad youth behind him, immediately knelt on one knee and spoke respectfully.

Not only them, but all nearly a thousand soldiers on both sides knelt there, their expressions fervent. Even within the city gate, all who saw this Ancient Demon trembled in their hearts and prostrated themselves.

Throughout the city, inside and out, the only one not kneeling was Wang Lin.

As the golden-armored man knelt on one knee, he immediately noticed that Wang Lin was still standing, and was instantly stunned, his eyes showing disbelief. Kong Si was the same, and even the black-clad youth was dumbfounded, revealing a look of shock.

How could a mere prince make Wang Lin kneel? Let alone him, even a Great Heavenly Venerate could not make Wang Lin kneel. Even an Immortal Emperor would only warrant a cupped-fist salute.

Wang Lin calmly looked at the roaring Ancient Demon, and at the person standing on its head. This person wore imperial robes, with long black hair flowing. He was a young man with an ordinary appearance, yet an indescribable aura surrounded him. He stood there, seemingly of immeasurable nobility.

Behind him was a woman in a blue dress. She appeared young, and her gaze fell on Wang Lin, showing surprise.

The imperial-robed youth also saw Wang Lin, the only one standing. As he stared, and another roar came from the sky, the youth looked up, no longer at Wang Lin, but at the sky.

From the previously torn Rift in the sky, another huge phantom emerged. This phantom was slightly smaller, only ten thousand feet tall. After stepping out, it had two horns on its head and was entirely black. It was indeed an Ancient Demon!

This Ancient Demon's eyes were still blood-red, filled with madness and brutality, seemingly barely under control. It roared out and stomped on the ground. On its head stood seven people.

These seven people, five men and two women, cupped their fists in a bow towards the youth on the Ancient Demon's head. As they looked up and then down at the ground, their gazes were immediately drawn to Wang Lin, who was the only one standing.

"This clansman is disrespectful; please excuse him, everyone." The imperial-robed youth smiled faintly at the seven people on the Ancient Demon's head, then turned to look at the golden-armored man kneeling below, whose mind was shaken by Wang Lin.

"Liang Yun, is he your newly recruited subordinate?"

"Reporting to Your Royal Highness, this subordinate does not recognize this person. He just appeared here, saying he wanted to… to observe Your Royal Highness. This subordinate is guilty for letting him stay… I will now kill him as a warning to others!" The golden-armored man's eyes revealed anger and killing intent.

"No need!" The Prince spoke coldly, his eyes flashing as he gazed at Wang Lin.

"Tuoge, kill him!" As the Prince spoke, the tens of thousands of feet tall Ancient Demon beneath him immediately let out a roaring bellow. Its massive right claw suddenly lifted and grabbed towards Wang Lin!

It looked as if it intended to seize Wang Lin and crush him! Furthermore, on its right claw, the sharp claws seemed capable of ripping through nothingness, transforming into several black lines, carrying monstrous Demonic Qi, heading straight for Wang Lin!
