Chapter 20: Nightingale’s Hope (Part 4)

Lin Fan stood on the balcony of the main building of Star-Moon Manor, the cold wind brushing against his cheeks.

He looked into the distance and saw, under the night sky, a mechanical army shimmering with cold light approaching the manor with a chilling Aura.

Nightingale's mechanical army consisted entirely of metal warriors with black as their primary color. Each one was forged from high-strength alloy, their bodies exuding a cold, sharp luster.

They were about two meters tall with human-like builds, but their limbs were noticeably thicker than an ordinary person's. Their arms were equipped with various weapon modules,

including high-speed rotating chainsaws, flamethrowers that spewed scorching fire, and multi-barrel rocket launchers mounted on their shoulders.

Their heads lacked facial features, possessing only a long, red light screen that resembled burning rage in the dark night.

As they marched, the ground shook repeatedly beneath their feet, emitting a low, metallic clanging sound as if the earth itself were roaring.

Even more terrifying was the irregular blue energy core embedded in the chest of each mechanical warrior, emitting a faint, eerie blue light.

This light was not cold; it had an eerie, pulsating quality, like the heartbeat of some unknown life form.

Lin Fan took a deep breath and looked down at the real-time battle feed on his quantum phone. The automatic firepower System of the outer defense line had already begun operating; amidst the spewing flames, bullets and missiles streaked across the night sky like ribbons of light.

However, the surface of those mechanical warriors was covered by a layer of energy shields. Ordinary firepower could only barely slow their pace; it couldn't truly shake them.

"It seems Nightingale has really pulled out all the stops this time." Lin Fan sneered, his tone carrying a hint of disdain. "However, I am not a soft persimmon to be slaughtered at will."

Just then, the team of warriors led by Thunder arrived at the perimeter.

Thunder took the lead, his figure charging into the enemy ranks like a bolt of lightning.

Two high-frequency oscillating blades deployed from his forearms, the edges slicing through the air with a piercing hum.

He was as agile as a leopard, and every swing precisely struck the weak points of the mechanical warriors.

"Bang!" The energy core in the chest of a mechanical warrior was slashed open by Thunder's blade. The blue light instantly extinguished, its movements stalled for a moment, and then it crashed to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

"Full combat mode engaged! Wipe out the enemy!" Thunder ordered loudly.

Blood Hammer and Karl followed closely behind. Blood Hammer swung a massive power hammer, and every time it came crashing down, it smashed the enemy into twisted scrap metal.

Karl, on the other hand, appeared much calmer. His weapon was an electromagnetic sniper rifle, and he stood at a high vantage point, precisely sniping those mechanical warriors whose cores were exposed.

The mechanical army also began to counterattack. Their shoulder-mounted rocket launchers fired in unison, dozens of fiery trails heading straight for the manor's defensive positions.

Thunder quickly swung his blade, shattering the incoming missiles, and simultaneously issued a warning: "The enemy's firepower is extremely strong; watch out and evade!"

The firelight illuminated half the sky, and the outskirts of the manor fell into chaos.

The ground was covered in debris kicked up by explosions, and the mechanical warriors continued to advance ruthlessly.

Lin Fan stood on the balcony, calmly observing the battlefield. His fingers slid rapidly across his quantum phone, issuing commands one after another:

"Mobilize the inner defense line turrets and strengthen the energy shield coverage. Thunder, take your team and flank from the right; coordinate with firepower suppression!"

Following his command, the automatic turrets within the manor rose from the ground. Beams of laser fire precisely pierced the mechanical warriors' shields, and after their blue cores were struck, the warriors fell one after another.

Although Nightingale's mechanical army was strong, the tide of battle gradually turned under the combined efforts of the manor's defensive line and Thunder's squad.

However, Lin Fan remained vigilant in his heart: "This is just the vanguard. Nightingale, what exactly is your trump card?"

The firelight from the battlefield reflected on his determined face. Lin Fan's gaze was as sharp as a hawk's; he knew that this battle had only just begun.

Just as Lin Fan was pondering, a low roar came from the night sky, as if some massive machine were approaching.

"Master! High-energy signature detected, attacking from the air!" The alert sound of the quantum phone rang out abruptly.

Lin Fan looked up and saw, in the distant night sky, a massive aircraft breaking through the clouds, emitting a scarlet glow.

It was a battle mothership.

It was shuttle-shaped, its surface covered in black and gold armor. Several massive mechanical arms extended from the center of the hull, and each arm held an even more terrifying heavy mechanical warrior.

These warriors were about five meters tall, with limbs as thick as pillars, wielding massive electromagnetic cannons, with two pairs of wing-like thrusters extending from their backs.

The flying mothership hovered over the manor, and the mechanical arms suddenly unfolded. Those heavy warriors leaped down from the high altitude, landing on the battlefield with the momentum of thunder.

Deep craters were smashed into the ground. The mechanical warriors stood up from the dust, their electromagnetic cannons charging, and fired directly at the manor's defensive System.

"Boom!" A blue-white electric arc streaked across, instantly piercing through the manor's outer energy shield, and several automatic turrets were also destroyed, sending sparks of fire everywhere.

"Damn it!" Lin Fan's heart sank. He knew that these heavy warriors were not something an ordinary force could contend with.

Thunder rushed to the front line to confront one of the heavy warriors head-on.

His high-frequency oscillating blade struck the opponent's armor, but it only left a shallow scratch.

The heavy warrior backhanded a punch, which Thunder narrowly dodged, but the massive shockwave still knocked him back several meters.

"These guys' armor and firepower are far superior to ordinary mechanical warriors!" Thunder said in a deep voice. "Master, we need stronger firepower support!"

Lin Fan calmly issued commands on his quantum phone: "Activate starfire c9, full reinforcement! At the same time, engage the backup defense System and cover my entry into the battlefield."

Before the words had even faded, a scorching white pillar of light rose from the depths of the manor. The intelligent mecha System of starfire c9 activated, and metal components rapidly assembled, transforming into a mighty giant mecha.

The mecha was silver all over, with spiritual energy cores embedded in its shoulders and chest armor. Its arms were equipped with high-energy plasma cannons and energy blades, and the thrusters on its back spewed hot blue flames as it leaped directly into the battlefield.

Over these past few days, Lin Fan, Zhang Tie, and Zhang Ming, with the help of the quantum phone, had completely upgraded four luxury cars.

"Lin Fan, you want to go out there yourself again?" Yin Miaoxue leaped up from the side of the hot spring pool, her eyes full of worry. "Don't forget that you haven't fully recovered yet!"

Princess Hu Qinlan also hurriedly threw on her clothes and ran over, softly persuading him: "Young Master, let Thunder and the other warriors hold them off for now; your safety is the most important thing."

Lin Fan turned and looked at them, a wicked smile appearing on the corner of his mouth: "My, Lin Fan's, bottom line cannot be trampled upon."

Having said that, he leaped into the cockpit of the starfire c9 mecha and skillfully piloted the mecha, charging toward the battlefield.

"Everyone listen up! Cover me, take out these heavy warriors!" Lin Fan's voice resounded across the entire field through the amplifier System, and morale instantly soared.

The battlefield boiled over again. The energy blade of the starfire c9 swept out, slicing two heavy mechanical warriors in half.

The mecha's plasma cannons fired continuously, forcing more enemies back.

Meanwhile, Nightingale stood on the high-altitude mothership, the blue-blooded heart in her chest emitting an eerie red light.

"Lin Fan, I am truly appreciating you more and more. Unfortunately, you still have to die."

Lin Fan sneered, maneuvering the mecha to leap directly into the air, heading toward the flying mothership. The climax of the battle was about to arrive!
