Chapter 2010: Dim Lights, Fulfillment!

Wang Lin watched as the Great Heavenly Venerate Song Tian forcibly raised the Primeval Mountain from the ground in mid-air, causing the earth to tremble, with black light radiating from beneath the peak.

His expression was calm as he gazed coldly.

He watched as the peak rose higher and higher until it floated completely between heaven and earth, stopping above Song Tian. Song Tian stared at Wang Lin, raising his right hand as if supporting the mountain peak.

"Wang Lin, if you can withstand the power of my Primeval Mountain, I admit defeat in this battle!" Song Tian roared, waving his right hand sharply outward. The massive Primeval Mountain thundered directly toward Wang Lin.

"This mountain is named Primeval. It is the first mountain peak born on the land of the Ancient Clan, belonging to the Initial Ancient Lineage. Its size has remained unchanged for countless millennia. I achieved the Dao on this mountain, and after becoming a Great Heavenly Venerate, just like the Great Heavenly Venerates of the Initial Ancient Lineage throughout history, I refined this mountain. Now, in my hands, this mountain can exert a single suppressive force!

Wang Lin, take this!"

Heaven and earth rumbled. The Primeval Mountain roared astonishingly, instantly suppressing Wang Lin from above. This mountain was incredibly strange; as it descended, Wang Lin clearly saw that all the fine lines representing the rules of heaven and earth were pushed away by a mysterious force when the mountain fell, as if the mountain and the rules of heaven and earth had extreme repulsion and could not coexist.

Wang Lin's eyes flashed with brilliance. He stood there, his robes fluttering and his white hair gently swaying. He clenched his right hand and suddenly punched toward the approaching mountain peak.

His punch landed in the Void Realm, colliding with the peak from a hundred zhang away. As the roar echoed, the mountain peak shook, and its descending speed slowed significantly, but it was still sinking.

The shadow of Wang Lin's punch that had impacted the mountain peak now vibrated and shattered. Simultaneously, an immense pressure crashed down, suppressing Wang Lin and directly segmenting the space around him, as if the area of heaven and earth where he stood was completely separated from its surroundings.

"Interesting!" Wang Lin smiled faintly. This Divine Ability of suppression used by the Primeval Mountain was surprisingly similar to the Ancient Ancestor's Finger. However, the Ancient Ancestor's Finger caused the segmented heaven and earth to collapse and shatter to kill the enemy, while the Primeval Mountain used segmented heaven and earth to prevent escape, forcing the opponent to be suppressed alive.

"As expected of a Great Heavenly Venerate. Before me, there were Nine Great Heavenly Venerates in the Immortal Astral Continent, and none were weak. Every Great Heavenly Venerate possesses unique Divine Abilities!

"For instance, the might of Song Tian's Primeval Mountain can repel rules and achieve space segmentation similar to the Ancient Ancestor's Finger. Although this technique is not his signature art, it is still enough to dominate." Wang Lin muttered to himself, watching the mountain peak draw closer.

His eyes flashed. With his current cultivation, the only person in this world who could make him wary, besides Ancient Dao, was no one else. Wang Lin did not care about the other Great Heavenly Venerates. Although this Primeval Mountain was extraordinary, it was merely that—extraordinary.

Wang Lin's expression was calm. He raised his right hand and pointed a finger toward the Primeval Mountain roaring down from above.

This finger was the Divine Ability of the Ancient Ancestor's Finger.

As the finger descended, the color of heaven and earth changed. Wind and clouds rolled back, and the space segmented by the Primeval Mountain immediately emitted massive rumbling sounds. Visible Rifts appeared around Wang Lin; they grew wider and wider, eventually seeming on the verge of collapse, as if unable to withstand the force.

As for the Primeval Mountain, under Wang Lin's finger, it violently shuddered and stopped dozens of zhang away from Wang Lin, shaking continuously but unable to sink further.

Just then, the segmented space around Wang Lin violently collapsed and shattered like a landslide. Wang Lin stepped out, his expression unchanged, looking at Song Tian nearby.

“Do you still want to fight?”

Song Tian looked bitter, but gritting his teeth, he leaped up, standing directly on the Primeval Mountain. He bit the tip of his tongue and spat out a mouthful of blood. As the blood turned into mist and was rapidly absorbed by the mountain, Song Tian abruptly sat cross-legged, performing Hand Seals and letting out a low shout.

"Primeval Suppression!"

The Primeval Mountain emitted a tremendous roar, breaking free from its previous tremors, and descended once more, heading straight for Wang Lin.

Wang Lin shook his head. His body flickered, and before the Primeval Mountain could sink, he had already appeared beneath it. He raised his right hand and pressed his palm against the mountain.

The instant his palm landed, the mountain violently trembled. Song Tian, who was atop it, spat out blood again, his body reeling back. After retreating several steps, he finally stopped.

At this moment, the long rainbows rushing from the Initial Ancient Imperial City also swiftly approached, transforming into dozens of figures. The person leading them was an old man wearing imperial robes. He looked at Wang Lin, his expression changing.

Wang Lin did not look at the newcomers. Instead, after Song Tian was sent flying from the Primeval Mountain, Wang Lin flicked his sleeve. The Primeval Mountain immediately spun and slowly began to shrink, finally becoming palm-sized and landing on Wang Lin's right hand.

Looking at it, after the mountain shrank, it resembled an ox head, and the broken horn was restored to normal.

When Song Tian saw this scene, his body staggered, and he retreated again, his face instantly turning pale. This mountain had maintained its size for eternity, and throughout the generations of Great Heavenly Venerates of the Initial Ancient Lineage, no one had ever been able to shrink it to such an extent.

But this Wang Lin, without even refining it, could shrink the mountain, and judging by his demeanor, he could control it freely. Song Tian felt bitter inside. He let out a long sigh, gave up all resistance, clasped his hands, and bowed deeply to Wang Lin.

"I, Song… admit defeat!" As Song Tian spoke, he looked back at the approaching crowd. Every one of them was visibly shaken, their minds clearly stunned by this scene.

"As a Guardian of the Initial Ancient Lineage and a Great Heavenly Venerate, I, Song, hereby acknowledge Prince Jidu as the Imperial Venerate of our Initial Ancient Lineage a century from now!" Song Tian spoke slowly, his gaze finally resting on the old man in imperial robes.

This old man was the current Initial Ancient Imperial Venerate. He hesitated, wanting to say something, but after glancing at Wang Lin in the distance, he fell silent, clasped his hands toward Song Tian in respect, and nodded.

Prince Jidu was filled with excitement, coupled with a sense of unreality. His long-cherished desire was achieved so easily today, causing his expression to momentarily blur. But he was not an ordinary person. After taking a deep breath, he immediately stepped forward, instantly arriving at the front.

After a moment of hesitation, he did not thank Song Tian or his Imperial Father first. Instead, he turned around and, in front of his Imperial Father, Song Tian, the many experts of the Initial Ancient Lineage, and even the other princes, he knelt on one knee toward Wang Lin.

"Thank you, Adoptive Father, for your fulfillment!"

This single kneel and this single sentence immediately caused the expressions of everyone present, except Song Tian, to change drastically. Their gazes converged, revealing disbelief and incomprehension.

In this Ancient Clan where imperial power reigned supreme, a prince—especially one whose identity as the future Initial Ancient Imperial Venerate was confirmed—actually knelt before someone and recognized him as his Adoptive Father!

This matter surpassed the imagination of everyone around, instantly causing an uproar.

"Jidu, what are you doing!!" The first to speak was a middle-aged man standing beside the Initial Ancient Imperial Venerate. This person was the First Prince!

Chi Man, who was farther away, was originally filled with unwillingness, but he had no way to change any of this. However, at this moment, his eyes suddenly lit up.

"Jidu, as a Prince, how can you casually recognize someone as your father!! Especially when you are the future Imperial Venerate, how dare you kneel to the dao ancient Great Heavenly Venerate!!"

The Initial Ancient Imperial Venerate remained silent, watching his own son kneel before Wang Lin, a flash of gloom passing through his eyes.

The surrounding uproar made Jidu's face somewhat pale, but his eyes showed determination. Looking at Wang Lin, he knew what he was doing. He intended to use this action to tell his Adoptive Father that even if he became the Imperial Venerate, the other party would still be his Adoptive Father!

Wang Lin also looked at Jidu. He had not expected Jidu to possess such courage, willing to perform such an act in front of his father and numerous clansmen.

Jidu could have secretly fulfilled the promise he made to his Adoptive Father that year. If he had done so, the process of him becoming the Imperial Venerate would have been much smoother, rather than experiencing potential complications as he was now.

Watching the uproar around them grow louder, Song Tian remained silent, and the Initial Ancient Imperial Venerate still did not speak, though the gloom in his eyes deepened.

"Jidu, I accept you as my adopted son!" Wang Lin spoke slowly.

Jidu took a deep breath. Before this moment, Wang Lin had never acknowledged the matter; Jidu had simply referred to him as Adoptive Father on his own. Hearing Wang Lin's words now, Jidu bowed again.

"A century from now, you will be the Initial Ancient Imperial Venerate!" Wang Lin did not look at the crowd, but instead cast his gaze toward the Initial Ancient Imperial City. He could vaguely see that within the Initial Ancient Imperial City, there was also a towering statue carved in the image of the Ancient Ancestor.

That place was also the location of the Ancestral Temple.

The First Prince and Chi Man turned pale, and just as they seemed about to speak, the Initial Ancient Imperial Venerate, the old man in imperial robes, appeared to grasp the situation. He sighed internally and spoke for the first time.

"For my son to be able to take Venerate Wang as his Adoptive Father is my son's fortune and the glory of my Initial Ancient Lineage. I am not like the Dao Ancient Imperial Venerate, who failed to distinguish right from wrong, forcing Venerate Wang away and bringing disaster upon himself and his clan… I ask Venerate Wang to remain with my Initial Ancient Lineage. Should you have any request, I will certainly fulfill it!" The old man in imperial robes clasped his hands and bowed to Wang Lin.

"Brother Wang, if you have no other destination, why not stay here and witness the moment Jidu becomes the Imperial Venerate a century from now." Song Tian said to Wang Lin, a smile appearing on his face.

"Imperial Father, Adoptive Father wishes to visit the Ancestral Temple. Your son has already agreed, but I need to seek Imperial Father's opinion." Jidu stood up and spoke respectfully to the Initial Ancient Imperial Venerate.

"The Ancestral Temple? If Venerate Wang wishes to go, I naturally agree to this matter!" The old man in imperial robes replied with a smile, without the slightest hesitation. He dared not disagree, nor did he dare to have any objection to Jidu recognizing this person as his Adoptive Father.

This Venerate Wang standing before him had killed the Dao Ancient Imperial Venerate, charged into the dao ancient Imperial Palace, and still walked away, and even the Great Heavenly Venerate Ancient Dao had not said a word about it. Such a person—and he had just witnessed with his own eyes that Song Tian was no match—how could he dare to offend him?

Imperial power was supreme, but against a person like this, it was completely useless.

Recently, writing has been very slow. Since waking up this morning, I keep staring blankly at the outline for the final section of the document.
