Chapter 22: Nightingale’s Hope (VI)
In the night sky, a streamlined shuttle glided by silently, gradually disappearing into the horizon.
Lin Fan watched that speck of light with cold eyes, a meaningful smile curling the corners of his mouth:
"Nightingale, you are always so generous, delivering your troops directly into my hands. I really must thank you properly."
He turned around and swept his gaze over the battlefield. The mechanical troops on the ground, having lost Nightingale's command, stood frozen as if they had lost their Soul.
These once-deadly warriors were now nothing more than harmless scrap metal.
"Thunder, count the number and status of these mechanical warriors," Lin Fan ordered.
Thunder nodded and quickly began operating the starfire c9 to scan the surrounding mechanical wreckage.
Soon, he reported: "Report, Boss, there are 58 intact mechanical warriors here, 97 that are damaged but repairable, and the rest are essentially total wrecks."
Lin Fan nodded and gestured toward the main building of the estate: "Transport all of these to the second basement level and hand them over to Zhang Tie and Zhang Ming for modification. I need them to become our troops."
From the direction of the ground security dormitory, Zhang Tie and Zhang Ming had already arrived upon hearing the news. Seeing the mechanical warriors covering the ground, their eyes lit up, and they were so excited they nearly jumped for joy.
"Boss, these are all high-end gear!" Zhang Tie lifted the arm of a mechanical warrior and began to examine it.
Zhang Ming couldn't hold back either, circling the mechanical warrior: "Hey, these armor Materials are much stronger than the ones in our lab. We're going to have some fun this time!"
The corners of Lin Fan's mouth curled up slightly: "Don't be happy too soon. First, figure out their core technology, then modify them thoroughly for me. I want them to become stronger."
"Understood!" the two said in unison.
Just then, Xiao Du's soft and cute voice rang out in Lin Fan's mind again:
"Congratulations, Master, Clue Two: 'Deprived Freedom,' completion rate 50%. Keep it up!"
Upon hearing this, Lin Fan let out a long sigh of relief, looked up at the gradually calming night sky, and whispered to himself: "Not bad, it went more smoothly than I expected."
Afterward, his gaze became firm as he swept it over the busy team members around him, knowing in his heart that this was only the beginning.
Every step forward would be even more dangerous, but it was also a crucial step toward firmly holding his destiny in his own hands.
"Let this land be completely changed because of us," Lin Fan muttered, walking toward the main building.
Lin Fan walked toward the main building with steady steps, his body radiating the lingering, sharp aura of battle.
Princess Jin Xuan, Yin Miaoxue, and Princess Hu Qinlan were already waiting at the entrance. Seeing him step down from the starfire c9, all three of them couldn't help but have their eyes light up.
The starfire c9's mecha form was incredibly domineering, like a king in war, and the moment Lin Fan stepped out of the mecha, he looked even more like a hero returning from the battlefield.
Princess Jin Xuan folded her arms across her chest, her eyes full of admiration: "Lin Fan, this mecha is too cool! I want to drive it once too!"
Yin Miaoxue revealed a rare, playful smile: "Young Master, do you know that the way you just walked out of the mecha was incredibly handsome."
Princess Hu Qinlan tilted her head slightly, her face filled with anticipation: "Lin Fan, you said you would let us drive the mecha. Can we do it this time?"
Lin Fan's mouth curled up slightly as he stepped down from the starfire c9 and patted the body of the vehicle.
Under his operation, the mecha quickly reverted to its streamlined top-tier sports car form, looking gorgeous and infused with a sense of technology.
"I originally intended to let you try it," Lin Fan chuckled, "but the situation today is special; Nightingale seems to be even less able to take a beating than I thought. Don't worry, next time I will definitely give you a chance to make a stunning entrance."
Princess Jin Xuan pouted, looking dissatisfied: "You are always like this, keeping us in suspense!"
Lin Fan raised his hand and ruffled her hair: "Alright, go back and rest first. There is still a ton of stuff waiting for us to handle. Once I fix the System of these mechanical warriors, mecha piloting training will be put on the schedule, and then you will all be able to experience it one by one."
Yin Miaoxue smiled slightly and said softly: "Young Master always has a way to coax us into being happy. But you must keep your word."
Princess Hu Qinlan nodded, her tone gentle yet firm: "I believe in him. He never breaks his promises."
Lin Fan looked at the three pairs of expectant and trusting eyes, feeling a warmth in his heart.
"Rest assured, your favorite car has already completed a comprehensive upgrade. As soon as I'm done, I'll teach you."
Lin Fan walked down the stairs toward the second basement level, where the surrounding environment appeared exceptionally busy and efficient.
Zhang Ming and Zhang Tie had already converted this place into a huge workshop, and the air was filled with the smell of metal and engine oil.
Various precision machines and tools were running non-stop, with flashing welding sparks and the sounds of laser cutting interweaving, appearing exceptionally orderly.
Over a hundred mechanical warriors were being transported to different processing zones; some had already entered the initial repair phase, while others were beginning to undergo upgrades.
Each warrior's outer shell had been cleaned, and their internal structures had been re-evaluated.
The movements of Zhang Ming, Zhang Tie, and the other modification personnel were fast and precise, as if the entire second basement level was in a state of perfect operation.
"How is it? Have you figured out the core technology?" Lin Fan walked over to the two, his gaze sweeping over the busy machines, his tone carrying a hint of anticipation.
Zhang Ming stopped his work, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and looked tired but full of confidence: "Boss, we have mastered the core technology. Although the basic design of these mechanical warriors is largely a copy, we have already found quite a few loopholes and room for improvement. Whether we can make them act independently without relying on Nightingale's command depends entirely on our upcoming upgrades."
Zhang Tie nodded and added: "Yes, we are consolidating improvement plans to add autonomous decision-making and collective cooperation functions to these warriors, increasing their combat flexibility and adaptability. Most importantly, we will also add some new weapon Systems, so that whether it is melee or long-range attack, they will be more comprehensive."
Lin Fan nodded in satisfaction: "Very good, keep it up."
He silently operated the number 000 mobile phone, importing the level 3 civilization mechanical warrior blueprints into the printer System nearby.
With the sound of mechanical operation, the blueprints were slowly printed out.
On these design blueprints, the dense circuits and complex structures were clear at a glance.
Lin Fan looked at the printed blueprints, feeling a slight hesitation in his heart.
He had originally intended to print the level 4 civilization design blueprints directly, but considering Zhang Ming and Zhang Tie's current level of basic knowledge, he chose the level 3 civilization design blueprints instead.
Lin Fan felt a bit nervous, not knowing if these two would be able to implement such high-difficulty technology.
As the printer finished its work, Lin Fan picked up the design blueprints and handed them to Zhang Ming and Zhang Tie.
