Chapter 229: Petrified on the Spot (2)

"No, wait, how could you, elder…" How on earth did he tell? Su Luo picked up the little fellow and looked it up and down. To her naked eye, this was clearly a pure white Little Puppy; how did it look anything like a Little Divine Dragon?

Old Chen smiled but didn't speak, only giving Su Luo and the Little Divine Dragon a deep look before focusing all his attention on the raw stone that had been soaked in urine.

From the start, Old Chen didn't choose to use a stone-cutting knife; instead, he used a stone-grinding knife, slowly rubbing inward from the outer edge.

Throughout the process, his expression was serious and solemn, careful and cautious, for fear of damaging a top-quality crystal stone due to rough movements.

At this moment, besides Su Luo, there was another person standing beside Old Chen watching.

This person was none other than Liu Chengfeng, who had been enjoying himself just a moment ago.

At first, he was indeed so happy he couldn't find his bearings, but when he saw Old Chen actually taking over from Su Luo to personally cut the stone, he became a bit unsettled and hurriedly stood up and ran over.

Old Chen's hands as he cut the stone were like flowing water and drifting clouds, full of aesthetic beauty.

However, as the raw stone was ground smaller and smaller, eventually reaching only the size of a goose egg, there was still no sign of any crystal stone.

Liu Chengfeng immediately released his held breath. Seeing Su Luo's expectant look, he burst into laughter: "Hehe, you don't actually think there's a crystal stone in here, do you? This is hilarious. It's already been called waste material; where could there be a crystal stone? Look, you've made Old Chen work hard for nothing."

Su Luo crossed her arms and gave him a cold glance. "What? You think there's no crystal stone inside? Want to make a bet?"

Su Luo's gaze lingered on the money pouch hanging at Liu Chengfeng's waist.

A thousand gold coins was not a small amount. While spending it on raw stones was understandable, if Liu Chengfeng got his way, Su Luo would definitely feel a bit unhappy.

"A bet it is, who's afraid of who?" Liu Chengfeng couldn't wait to scrape more gold coins off Su Luo. He found her very annoying, and as long as he saw her having bad luck, he would be genuinely happy.

"Alright then, let's bet that bag of gold coins from earlier." Su Luo raised her hand and said casually, "If there's nothing inside that goose-egg-sized raw stone, you win. Otherwise, I win. How about it?"

"Fine!" Liu Chengfeng tossed the bag of gold coins onto the table.

Su Luo was not to be outdone; with a casual wave, a bag of gold coins also appeared on the table.

Then, both their gazes turned toward Old Chen, staring intently at his flexible, skillful hands that were wrinkled like orange peel.

As the raw stone gradually became smaller and smaller, until finally it was only the size of a chicken egg… a smug, brilliant smile played on Liu Chengfeng's lips as he glanced at Su Luo contemptuously. "You're bound to lose."

"The outcome isn't decided yet, just wait patiently." Su Luo watched the small piece of raw stone, responding noncommittally.

A crystal stone that could make the Little Divine Dragon excited was certainly not low-grade; it was very likely above the level of green crystal stones. Su Luo rubbed her chin, thinking silently.

"Hmph, stubborn until the end. You'll see what's coming!" Liu Chengfeng snorted coldly. A crystal stone in such a small rock? Who was she kidding? He wouldn't believe it.

However, very soon, reality dealt Liu Chengfeng a resounding slap in the face.

Liu Chengfeng could no longer laugh; the smile on his lips that hadn't had time to fade instantly froze.
