Chapter 2306: Emotions are priceless

“Ye Bufan, why do I feel like something isn’t quite right?”

Lu Xueman was also slow to realize, as the media in this society was not well-developed, and people’s minds were relatively simple, so their vigilance against swindlers was very low.

“It’s fine, we have the house deed, nothing else matters.”

Ye Bufan said, leading everyone into the storefront.

Jiang Fangzhou walked ahead, but as soon as he entered, he was bounced back by an invisible force.

He had not expected there to be a Restriction blocking the way, and caught off guard, he fell backward.

Ye Bufan also noticed that he hadn’t used his Divine Sense on the street earlier, otherwise, there would have been too much chaotic information, which would have been a burden on his brain.

Scanning now, he discovered that the entire storefront was enveloped by a hidden, invisible Restriction; if one didn't understand Formations, even a Dongxu Stage expert probably wouldn't detect it.

“Ye Dage, what is this? Is this a Formation?”

Jiang Fangzhou got up from the ground, covered in dust, but the people around him showed no surprise, as if everything was expected.

Ye Bufan somewhat understood; no wonder the other party sold it so cheaply—they had tampered with it here.

But such a simple Restriction couldn’t stop him; he raised his hand, ready to break it, when a kind old man walked over from the side.

“Young man, you can’t touch this; once you try to move it, you’ll be in big trouble.”

Jiang Fangzhou said, “We’ve already bought this house, why can’t we touch it?”

“I can’t say, but if you touch it, you’ll suffer a loss!”

The old man shook his head after speaking, sighed, and walked away, clearly not daring to get too involved.

Ye Bufan paid no attention to any of this; no matter what schemes the other party had, he didn’t care.

He raised his leg and kicked, and with a crack, the Restriction was directly shattered by his kick, and then he led everyone inside.

The interior of the storefront was very spacious and elegantly decorated.

Ye Bufan nodded in satisfaction; one hundred thousand High-Grade Spirit Stones for such a large residence was worth it.

Jiang Fangzhou raised his hand, pointing to the backyard, and said, “Those Yao Beasts are so beautiful!”

Everyone followed the direction of his finger and saw three large birds standing on a rock.

These birds were pure white, but their wings were golden, and their beaks were blue, making them look exceptionally beautiful.

Nalan Yujia said, “These are second-tier Yao Beast Golden-Winged Snow Eagles; they are docile and not aggressive, often kept as pets.”

As soon as she said this, the three Golden-Winged Snow Eagles, startled, immediately spread their wings and flew up; with no Restriction to block them, they vanished into the sky in the blink of an eye.

These things weren't his to begin with, so Ye Bufan didn't care that they flew away.

Just then, a loud shout came from outside the door: “Who broke Young Master’s Restriction? Get out here!”

A smile played on Ye Bufan’s lips; it seemed the true owner of the house had arrived, and quite quickly too.

He turned his head and walked towards the front of the shop; by now, a dozen people were already standing there.

Leading them was a Young Master in luxurious clothes, in his twenties, with his chin held high and nostrils flared, his entire expression exuding arrogance.

Behind him were a dozen household servants, all glaring fiercely, full of Killing Intent.

The cultivation of these people had all reached the Soul Transformation Stage; to use such experts as household servants, it seemed the other party’s background was significant.

The surrounding people had already retreated far away, wearing expressions of onlookers watching a show, seemingly accustomed to the scene before them.

Ye Bufan glanced at the Young man: “Who are you? Do you have business at my house?”

The Young Master shouted, “Kid, was it you who just broke my Restriction?”

Ye Bufan said indifferently, “That’s right, I broke it.”

The Young Master sneered, “It’s good that you admit it. You broke my Restriction, so tell me, what are you going to do about it?”

Ye Bufan ignored his question and retorted, “This house was yours before, wasn’t it?”

The Young Master hesitated for a moment, then nodded, “That’s right, it was Young Master’s.”

“But now it’s mine.”

Ye Bufan shook the property deed in his hand, “It’s all written clearly on this.”

“That’s right, the house was sold to you, but the Restriction wasn’t sold to you.”

The Young Master arrogantly shouted, “Tell me, what are you going to do about breaking my Restriction?”

“Are you asking me?”

Ye Bufan now basically understood the other party’s trick: first, sell the house at a very low price, and then extort money using this invisible Restriction.

Clearly, this wasn't the first time the other party had done something like this; the locals all knew it, and they were targeting outsiders.

He sneered and said, “It seems you’ve already thought it through. Tell me, what do you want me to do?”

“It seems you’re quite sensible.”

The Young Master thought he had chickened out, which was normal; previous outsiders were all like this. How could an outsider possibly contend with him?

“It’s simple, pay up!

This Restriction was set up by a Formation Great Master I hired, and it cost me two hundred thousand High-Grade Spirit Stones. Now, not a single cent less, you have to compensate me for all of it.”

Seeing this, the surrounding people began to whisper again.

“This guy is getting more and more ruthless now; he actually doubled the price…”

“What do you know? He already collected one hundred thousand High-Grade Spirit Stones, and now he’s taking another two hundred thousand, that’s three hundred thousand…”

“This Young man is really too reckless; how can there be such a good deal to take advantage of…”

The people around were already accustomed to such scenes and knew the Young Master’s power and methods; no one thought that an outsider, a Young man, could escape.

Ye Bufan smiled slightly: “What if I say I don’t have money? Do I have to give the house back to you?”

“Giving me the house is a given, and it has nothing to do with compensation.”

No sooner had the Young Master spoken than one of his household servants ran out from the courtyard.

“Young Master, this is bad! Your three Golden-Winged Snow Eagles have all flown away!”

The Young Master looked at Ye Bufan again: “What? You scared away my three birds too?”

Ye Bufan showed a playful smile: “That’s right, those birds did run away. Do I have to compensate for them too?”

“Of course you have to compensate! Those were rare breeds I raised from a young age. Each one is worth at least three hundred thousand, no, five hundred thousand High-Grade Spirit Stones.

Three of them are one million five hundred thousand High-Grade Spirit Stones, plus the previous compensation, that’s a total of one million seven hundred thousand; not a single piece less will do!”

The Young Master’s gaze kept wandering over Lu Xueman and the others; clearly, Spirit Stones could no longer satisfy his appetite, and he had developed lustful intentions.

Jiang Fangzhou angrily said, “Are you crazy? Isn’t this extortion?”

“What a joke! Those three birds were raised by Young Master from a young age; our bond is very deep.

Five hundred thousand High-Grade Spirit Stones is already very cheap. Believe it or not, I could demand one million directly!”

Jiang Fangzhou was about to retort but was pulled back by Ye Bufan.

“Young Master is right. Those three birds were originally rare species, beautiful and intelligent. A higher price is perfectly fine.

The most important thing is that they were raised from a young age; that emotional bond is priceless and cannot be bought back with any amount of money.”

“Uh…”

Jiang Fangzhou was stunned for a moment, not knowing what was wrong with his boss. Had he become confused? Wasn’t this clearly allowing himself to be extorted?

The Young Master, however, secretly regretted it. He hadn’t expected to encounter such a fool; this was simply too easy to bully.

It seemed he had asked for too little earlier; he should have directly demanded one million High-Grade Spirit Stones per bird.
