Chapter 239: The Imminent Great War

The Spiritual Qi in this Secret Realm is extremely abundant. Based on the layout of this Secret Realm, Qin Ming speculated that it might be a Secret Realm specifically for cultivating spirit plants.

"If I could obtain this Secret Realm, combined with my Alchemy skills, I'm certain there would be no shortage of any Medicinal Pills in the future. Unfortunately, this Secret Realm will close once time is up.

Waiting for it to open again would take two hundred years. Truly a pity!"

Qin Ming sipped his tea while eavesdropping on the conversations of the surrounding Disciples.

A moment later, the other several Disciples also arrived.

"Sorry brothers, I'm late." The short-haired Disciple was the last to arrive and couldn't help but apologize.

"It's not too late; we just happened to be able to have some tea and rest. Since you're here, let's set off now!" Song Zhou stood up and said.

Everyone stood up and walked toward the location where tasks were issued.

To go out and harvest spirit plants, one needed to obtain the Sect's permission and accept a task.

"What! Harvesting spirit plants is no longer allowed, and we need to prepare for battle?" Song Zhou stared blankly at the Manager, speaking in surprise.

The black-robed Manager smiled and said, "You are members of the Sect. Now that we are about to prepare for battle with the Zhengqi Sect, you must naturally contribute your share of effort."

"But… I…" Song Zhou stammered.

How could fighting be better than harvesting spirit plants? Although the contribution rewards for killing people were higher, combat was far more dangerous than gathering spirit plants; one could lose their life if they weren't careful.

"Battle is about to begin, so all tasks have been closed now. Even Disciples out on missions will be recalled.

Even if I issued a task to you now, it would be meaningless; wouldn't you just be recalled anyway?"

The Manager added.

The group returned to the inn helplessly. With the Great War about to start, the entire station only allowed entry and no exit. Moreover, even if they went out, they would be recalled, so it was better to rest and build up their strength in the inn.

News had already spread throughout the inn. Currently, the Disciples of the entire Sect were discussing the upcoming battle; some Disciples were nervous, while others were excited.

"Song Qing, how many people do you think will die in this battle?" Song Zhou asked worriedly.

Qin Ming smiled and said, "I believe that if you stay sharp and don't charge blindly, you'll definitely be able to survive."

"Song Zhou, why are you only thinking about dying? This battle is a great opportunity. The contribution points given by the Sect are very high. If you can kill a few more people, you might gather enough resources to promote to Great Martial Master."

The short-haired Disciple slapped Song Zhou hard and said.

"Yeah! This kind of battle is rarely encountered; if you miss it, it's gone!" The other Disciples also chimed in.

Qin Ming shook his head inwardly. These Disciples were just cannon fodder; once the real fighting started, who knew how many would survive.

Still thinking about merit now—it was likely this type of person would be the first to die.

*Dong… Dong dong!* Several heavy bell tolls rang out, and the entire station began to seethe with activity.

"Let's go, hurry and assemble!" the short-haired Disciple urged.

"Let's go!" Song Zhou said helplessly. Now that he was in the station, it was impossible to find a place to hide.

Even if he didn't want to fight, he had to go!

Qin Ming followed Song Zhou and the others to a spacious square. Qin Ming glanced around; the entire square was packed with people.

In the center was a High Platform, upon which stood a white-bearded old man and several Middle-aged Men.

"Look, Elder Yan! Elder Yan is personally presiding this time! It seems we really are going to war with the Zhengqi Sect."

A nearby Disciple looked at the old man on the stage and said in surprise.
