Chapter 259: Prince Jins Residence (10)
Watching Nangong Liuyun's retreating figure, Su Luo's hands clenched into fists.
She knew her momentary hesitation had hurt him, but was she wrong?
If Nangong Liuyun were merely Nangong Liuyun, given his protection of her and her trust in him, there wouldn't be so much distance and suspicion between them.
However, the reality was not always that simple.
At least, as far as she knew, the Yaochi Fairy could influence Nangong Liuyun… Even though he knew the other party was trying to kill her, he could still deceive her without batting an eye. How could she stake all her trust on a man like that?
She could trust him, but she couldn't guarantee the relationship between Nangong Liuyun and the Yaochi Fairy.
Therefore, she was not wrong to protect herself and keep her secret… She shouldn't be wrong, right?
The main hall was filled with swirling heat and rising mist, mirroring Su Luo's current state of mind—heavy fog, lost and unable to find a way out.
Since Nangong had already exposed her false identity, she no longer needed to pretend to be a subservient servant boy, and there was no reason for her to stay in the Prince Jins Residence.
Su Luo shook her head to clear her mind, and then began to pack her belongings.
There were no women's clothes here, only Nangong Liuyun's voluminous brocade robes.
Having no choice, Su Luo could only put on his clothes first.
The clothes were made of the finest Heavenly Silkworm Silk, incredibly smooth and soft, and carried a trace of his unique, warm scent.
Su Luo felt a bit uncomfortable, but since the situation was what it was, she had to make do for now.
After putting on the robe, Su Luo headed straight for the exit, but before she could leave Nangong Liuyun's Sleeping Quarters, she was stopped at the door.
At the entrance to the Sleeping Quarters stood a line of armored Guards, each one stern and intimidating, radiating immense deterrence.
"Miss, please halt." One of the Guard Leaders said, his expression serious and his voice cold.
"I am leaving now." Su Luo frowned. Why couldn't she leave? Who set this rule?
Daring to call His Highness the Prince by his name? The Guard Leader stared at Su Luo, his heart pounding, but his expression remained impassive as he blocked the path: "Without an order from Your Highness, unauthorized personnel are not permitted to enter or exit the Sleeping Quarters. Please, Miss Su, do not make things difficult for us."
Su Luo smiled: "Didn't this unauthorized person manage to get in? Now I want to leave. Move aside, I don't want to make things difficult for you."
The Guard Leader's expression was serious and brooked no negotiation: "Without a Written Order from Your Highness, no one is allowed to enter or exit freely. Miss Su, please go back. If you insist on leaving, you must obtain a Written Order from Your Highness."
If she could get a Written Order from Nangong Liuyun, would she still be here trying her luck? Ridiculous!
Su Luo secretly gritted her teeth!
When she entered, she was dressed as a servant boy; now she was leaving with her true face. If Nangong Liuyun hadn't given prior notice, how could the Guard Leader possibly recognize her?
And they say this isn't Nangong Liuyun's doing?
"What if I insist on leaving?" Su Luo glared at them coldly.
"Then we will have no choice but to knock you unconscious ourselves and hand you over to Your Highness," the Guard Leader lowered his gaze.
How could they be so violent! Su Luo was so angry she clenched her fists!
"You guys are simply—!" Su Luo pointed at them.
The Guards remained unmoved, watching Su Luo with deep eyes: "Miss, please return. Please do not make things difficult for us."
"Hmph!" Su Luo glared at them angrily!
If she could, she really wanted to kick them. Honestly… Su Luo tallied all this resentment against Nangong Liuyun…
