Chapter 27: The Three-Day Deadline Passes in a Flash

The three-day deadline passed in a flash.

Tonight was the day Nangong Liuyun had promised.

The night was as dark as ink, with a few lingering stars hanging in the desolate sky, emitting a faint glow.

Suddenly, a black shadow arrived on the wind in the night sky, robes fluttering, as if an immortal had descended.

Before long, this figure quietly landed in a secluded courtyard of the Su Residence.

"Come in." Soon, a cold, unexpected voice rang out from inside the room.

When Nangong Liuyun entered, he saw Su Luo holding a book, reading intently by the candlelight.

Today, she wore a white gauze dress, simple and plain, making her appear somewhat cold, yet exceptionally spirited.

The hazy candlelight enveloped her, seeming to cast a faint radiance over her, making her look ethereal and cold, noble and indifferent.

Out of a killer's instinct, the moment Nangong Liuyun pushed the door open, Su Luo had already sensed his presence.

Just as Nangong Liuyun walked step by step behind her, Su Luo, as if she had eyes on her back, calmly put down the book in her hand and gestured: "Sit."

Nangong Liuyun curled his lips into a wicked, enchanting smile. If he sat just because she told him to, wouldn't he lose a lot of Face?

Thus, Nangong Liuyun refused to sit in the perfectly good chair and insisted on sitting in the small space beside Su Luo, squeezing in next to her.

"Nangong Liuyun, behave yourself, no touching." Su Luo's willow eyebrows furrowed slightly. She did not like close physical contact with others, so she waved her palm to push him away.

But her hand stopped in mid-air, because Nangong Liuyun had already wrapped his large palm around her hand.

There is a natural disparity in physical strength between men and women.

Su Luo glared at him in annoyance, but he wore a cheeky, grinning expression.

"Don't be so stingy, I'm very tired." Nangong Liuyun's slender, smooth fingers hooked Su Luo's smooth, pointed chin. A wicked, charming smile curled at the corners of his mouth as his voice became low and husky, "For your sake, I have traveled thousands of miles and rushed through the vast distance over these past three days. Is this how you repay me?"

Three days ago, during the temple test, the matter of the Dharma body on Su Luo was mysterious and strange.

At that time, Nangong Liuyun left after bringing Su Luo back. He left a message saying he would return in three days to tell her the answer.

Su Luo knew this matter would be very difficult, so she kept this favor in her heart and promised herself she would repay him in the future, in her own way.

With her chin held by him, Su Luo's gaze met his Face perfectly.

Suddenly, she paused.

The "thousands of miles traveled" and "vast distance rushed" in his words did not seem like an exaggeration.

Three days ago, Nangong Liuyun was dashing and handsome, with bright eyes and white teeth, looking spirited and indescribably charming. But now, although he was still handsome with bright eyes and white teeth, he was covered in the dust of travel, with frost on his Face. Looking closely, there was a hint of blue under his lower eyelids, and a trace of fatigue between his brows.

Even in his fatigue, his deep eyes still rippled with a wicked, enchanting smile, glowing brightly.

Su Luo's heart stirred slightly.

To say she wasn't moved at all in this moment would be impossible; after all, she was not made of wood or stone, devoid of all emotion, but to say she liked him, that was truly not the case.

In fact, Su Luo did not yet know that Nangong Liuyun's journey was far more than just thousands of miles; the hardships along the way and the dangers of Luoxia Peak were simply beyond what she could imagine at this moment.

Yet Nangong Liuyun smiled in such a wicked and enchanting way that not a trace of these hardships could be seen on his Face, leaving Su Luo completely unaware of the truth behind it.

She only looked at him, not saying a word.

Nangong Liuyun also smiled as he looked at Su Luo.

The two of them just looked at each other like that.
