Chapter 283: Stone Palace Opportunity
Chapter 283: Stone Hall Opportunity
Reincarnation Peak.
Under immense pressure, Lin Fan took three whole days to reach the peak, but this speed was already several times faster than his first ascent.
On the mountaintop, he pushed open the luminous door and entered the familiar Small World. A golden river appeared before his eyes—this was the source of the Huangquan River.
In comparison, the golden liquid here was even more crystalline and pure, like several suns, dazzling and brilliant.
“Where did that dead Little Dog run off to?” Lin Fan wondered. The Little Dog had ascended before him, but now it was nowhere to be seen.
He then followed the Huangquan River, searching. Everywhere was a misty white haze, making the place feel incredibly sacred.
It had to be said, this place was extraordinary, truly worthy of being a place where an Immortal King had resided. Even though it was located in the barren Lower Realm, it still exuded a Dao charm.
Especially the Heaven and Earth Qi, it was so dense it didn't seem like it was in the Eight Regions. The Laws were at Perfection, comparable to the Reincarnation Land.
“Eh, when did a palace appear on the other side of the river?” Lin Fan was surprised, standing by the terrifying Huangquan River and looking across.
He remembered that last time he came, Laws were intertwined there, and Chaos Qi submerged everything, making it impossible to see clearly.
Now, a palace had inexplicably appeared, ancient and grand!
In fact, rather than a palace, it was more like it had been carved out of a massive, pitch-black stone.
“Could it be related to that dead Little Dog?” Lin Fan was suspicious.
Not far away, there was also a rainbow bridge, brilliant and dazzling, spanning the Huangquan River and leading directly into the black palace.
Lin Fan tested it, confirmed that stepping on it wouldn't cause him to fall, and there was no danger. Then he walked towards the stone chamber.
“Woof… woo…”
However, as soon as he entered, still halfway there, he heard loud wailing mixed with barks, filled with immense sorrow.
Lin Fan was stunned, a little bewildered, a little confused, because the voice came from the Little Dog, which was simply unbelievable.
After a slight hesitation, he stepped into the main hall.
“Awoo… Senior Wu Zhong, how could you abandon me and take Little Hei instead, woo woo… Even on the Yellow Springs road, I wouldn't be alone…”
The Little Dog cried loudly, its voice full of sorrow, tears constantly rolling from its eyes.
Lin Fan was dumbfounded. It was the first time he had ever seen it like this. He asked, “Dead Little Dog, what happened?”
“You…” The Little Dog sensed someone approaching, looked up, but then lowered its head again, continuing to cry.
It didn't hide its emotions. Compared to its previous wildness, it was completely like a changed Little Dog, as if its personality had shifted.
“Immortal King Wu Zhong is dead, and I’ll never see him again, leaving me alone in this world, awoo woo woo…” The Little Dog cried heartbrokenly.
Hearing this, Lin Fan was at a loss for how to comfort it, understanding the significance of that existence to the Little Dog.
Much later, it lifted its head, once again filled with hope, and muttered to itself, “That place connects to the heavens, to spirits, and to ancient and modern times. Perhaps it can witness miracles. I will wait for the door to the other realm to open and go there to see.”
The Little Dog seemed to have thought of something, looking incredibly serious. With a whoosh, it darted out of the stone chamber.
“What the hell?” Lin Fan was dumbfounded, completely bewildered.
Soon, he began to focus on this newly appeared stone chamber. It was ten zhang in circumference, and its four walls were empty, containing nothing.
“Damn it, did that dead Little Dog take all the good stuff?” Lin Fan fumed.
In his opinion, a place hidden so deeply should at least contain immortal Dao scriptures or immortal materials. But now, everything was gone, simply because he was a step too late.
“Boom!”
Unable to contain his anger, he punched the stone wall, but his hand was numb from the impact, and the hall remained undamaged.
This surprised him greatly. His Divine Power and Physical Body could easily shatter treasures, yet now, they couldn't even leave a mark on the wall.
“Buzz!”
Suddenly, the black stone chamber vibrated, emitting brilliant light and revealing densely packed, incredibly mysterious symbols.
“This is…” Lin Fan was shocked, carefully pondering and sensing it.
It wasn't until he sat down, a beam of light shining on his body, and a ripple transmitting into his Sea of Consciousness, that he realized this stone chamber was a supreme treasure itself.
“Cultivating here, even if I take risks, suffer Qi Deviation, or die, I can return to my original state!”
Lin Fan was astonished. This place was too Heaven-Defying, equivalent to autonomously triggering the Heaven Mending Skill, allowing for multiple “undos.”
Even if he perished here, he could come back to life.
This meant he could fully immerse himself in comprehending the Dao, going all out to verify his own path and Law, without any worries.
Of course, this wasn't an infinite number of times; there were six in total, which meant he had six extra lives. Otherwise, it would be too abnormal.
“The dead Little Dog didn't lie to me. Melting the Myriad Dao Flame here won't burn me to ashes; it can be remedied.”
Lin Fan was delighted. This was exactly the cultivation retreat he needed.
Next, he began to calm his mind, settling down in the center of the stone chamber to cultivate his second Immortal Qi here.
This place was very strange. When Lin Fan quieted down, time seemed to freeze, no longer flowing, imbued with a mysterious power.
“Immortal King's methods are unimaginable!” Lin Fan exclaimed, truly feeling the fragments of time being confined.
Furthermore, it also involved the power of Reincarnation. In an instant, it was as if he experienced a new life, re-walking his cultivation path.
“With life and death as the furnace, melt the flame of Myriad Dao, and forge my true self!” Lin Fan's eyes were resolute as he began to break through.
Flames surged, symbols myriad, converging into a great river, rushing ceaselessly, turbulent and vast—this was the manifestation of the Great Dao.
Lin Fan was submerged. Within the ten-zhang stone chamber, he endured the washing of the Myriad Dao Flame, like a Phoenix undergoing Nirvana, blood staining the star river.
This was magnificent. Countless symbols intertwined, like countless streams of silk, crossing each other, burning fiercely.
“Pfft!”
Golden blood splattered from Lin Fan's body, a truly tragic sight, and then it was completely incinerated in the surging runes.
The Myriad Dao Flame enveloped him, tempering his body and soul—this was the pain he had to endure.
The next moment, with a “boom,” the Void Realm around Lin Fan twisted, and a green and black river emerged, its ends connected.
He was casting a “frame,” a loop, allowing the other Great Dao Divine Flames to circulate within it, encompassing all things.
This was his idea, like an eternally flowing river of time, without beginning or end, with all living beings or things swimming within it.
Lin Fan was in the midst of it. Infinite runes transformed into flames, passing through his body, tempering his muscles and bones, and refining his soul.
In an instant, the Myriad Dao resonated, as if enacting the supreme scriptures of the heavens, causing this place to boil!
Even within the stone hall, it was dazzling, countless symbols and patterns revived, resonating with the Myriad Dao, and the Dao sounds boomed.
Originally, the fragments of time were confined, but then they were unsealed and began to flow, mixed with the power of Reincarnation, incredibly chaotic.
Here, time was changing, falling into a cycle of Reincarnation. The hall went from ancient to new, then became ancient again. Everything was different from the outside world, as if it formed its own realm.
In just an instant, Lin Fan felt as if thousands of years had passed, and yet it was also like starting a new life, gaining numerous insights.
“The external burning flame hasn't changed, but my thought process has sped up, giving me more time to comprehend. This truly is a treasure trove,” Lin Fan muttered to himself.
