Chapter 290: Immortal Realm Qi

As more and more of the stele was exposed from the ground, the color of the part beneath it also changed, as if it had been soaked in water, yet no water vapor appeared.

Wang Lin's eyes flickered. Logically speaking, this place had been abandoned for countless years, and although there were many fragments of this Immortal Realm, many people had entered each time the Immortal Realm Gate opened over the years.

As such, even if there were fragments of the Immortal Realm that no one had ever set foot in from beginning to end, they would definitely be exceedingly rare, few and far between.

Basically, most of the Immortal Realm fragments had already seen the footprints of Cultivators.

This stele was originally a monumental existence; it should normally be placed outside a palace complex. Yet, it was here, and the exposed part beneath it showed traces of being buried deep in the soil for a long time. This phenomenon made Wang Lin understand its reason.

This monument must have been moved here by a Cultivator to hide some secret during a previous opening of the Immortal Realm Gate, relocating a stele that should have been outside the palace complex.

Otherwise, there shouldn't be such traces of deep burial beneath the stele. One must know that if this stele had never moved from beginning to end, then the bottom should gradually crack with the infinite extension of time, and definitely not be as it is now.

After confirming his thoughts, Wang Lin's eyes flashed. He let out a low shout and immediately pulled upwards fiercely with his right hand. Instantly, the several-zhang-long monument beneath it was completely pulled out and thrown aside.

The moment the stele was pulled out, a pure Immortal Realm Qi suddenly drifted out from the hole in the ground. This trace of Immortal Realm Qi was not much, and after appearing, it gradually showed signs of dissipating.

Wang Lin's eyes revealed joy. He quickly covered this trace of Immortal Realm Qi with both hands from a distance and concentrated on refining it.

Just then, a sound of rushing air suddenly came from the distant sky. A bolt of lightning streaked across the sky, and within that lightning, a huge octagonal Formation appeared.

A Cultivator in a green robe, carrying a treasured sword on his back, walked out from within the Formation.

As soon as he appeared, he immediately sped towards the ruins, as if he had a clear target.

Wang Lin immediately noticed him. He frowned, ignored the man's lightning-fast speed, calmed his mind, and continued to refine.

Under Wang Lin's refinement, that trace of Immortal Realm Qi slowly condensed together, transforming into a drop of liquid-like substance the size of a grain of rice.

Wang Lin knew that this Immortal Realm Qi had to be refined by one's Primordial Spirit to form a crystal similar to a Spirit Stone before it could be stored. However, the time required for this refinement varied depending on the strength of one's cultivation.

The green-robed Cultivator was extremely fast. Noticing the anomaly here from a distance, his expression immediately changed, and he shouted, "Stop!" As he spoke, he used some unknown Spell, and his speed instantly increased several times, rushing over.

Wang Lin ignored him. The green-robed Cultivator's cultivation was the same as his, both at the Early Stage of Soul Transformation. He had no fear whatsoever; instead, he calculated the time it would take for the opponent to arrive and focused on condensing.

The green-robed Cultivator saw from afar that Wang Lin not only didn't stop but even sped up his condensation. He couldn't help but roar as he flew, "This place was discovered by my Great Luo Sword Sect three thousand years ago! If you insist on going your own way, my Great Luo Sword Sect will pursue you to the end!"

The opponent's voice drifted slowly from a distance. Wang Lin didn't hear it all, but he understood some of it. He sneered, how could everything in the world have an owner? Especially this Immortal Realm Qi, it was an ownerless item. This person's statement was truly absurd!

He quickly flicked his right hand, and the copper ring on his wrist immediately flew out, transforming with a bang into a large green toad.

As soon as the Thunder Frog appeared, it immediately puffed up its abdomen, from which rumbling thunder sounds emerged. Immediately after, a huge Lightning Orb was spat out from its mouth with a thunderous roar, heading towards the green-robed Cultivator who was rushing from afar.

The green-robed Cultivator's expression changed again. He was extremely wary of the flying Lightning Orb. He slapped the treasured sword on his back, and the sword immediately unsheathed, shining with myriad rays of light as if the sun had descended, hovering above his head.

The green-robed Cultivator formed Hand Seals with both hands and fiercely pointed at the Lightning Orb. Instantly, the treasured sword suddenly swung downwards, and a Sword Qi as thick as a water bucket instantly shot out from the treasured sword, descending from the sky like a giant blade that could cleave heaven and earth.

Its speed was extremely fast, and in a blink of an eye, it landed on the Lightning Orb. Amidst rumbling thunderous sounds, the Lightning Orb was actually split in two, torn apart from the middle and scattered to both sides, landing on the ground to form two deep pits emitting white smoke.

The green-robed Cultivator's face was slightly flushed, and a mouthful of fresh blood surged up his throat, which he forcibly swallowed. This treasured sword was one of the Seven Swords of the Great Luo Sword Sect, a top-tier Spiritual Artifact. If he were fighting someone with lower cultivation than himself, he could wield it freely. Even against a Cultivator of the same Rank, he only needed to control the Sword Qi within the treasured sword to kill the enemy.

However, the Thunder Frog was equivalent to the Peak of the Middle Stage of Soul Transformation. Although it lacked a Concept, the power of thunder was not something a Cultivator could master; it was a unique attack method bestowed upon the Thunder Frog by the heavens. As a result, this person had no choice but to fully activate the treasured sword, launching an attack with the stance of harming a thousand enemies at the cost of eight hundred of his own.

After the Thunder Frog's obstruction, Wang Lin finally succeeded in condensing this trace of Immortal Realm Qi. In his hand, there was a purple crystalline body the size of a grain of rice.

This small crystal was already equivalent to almost half of the total spiritual power of the entire State of Zhao. Feeling the spiritual power within it, Wang Lin was quite shocked. He flipped his right hand, put the crystal into his Storage Pouch, then raised his head and coldly stared at the green-robed Cultivator.

Under this stele was suppressed one of the Formation eyes of the Formation of this palace complex. Although this Formation was broken, it still had some functionality. Over time, it would automatically absorb some imperceptible, free-floating Immortal Realm Qi from the surroundings and convert it into a trace of pure Immortal Qi.

The Great Luo Sword Sect clearly knew about this place. They used the stele to suppress it, preventing others from seeing it, and would send people here regularly to collect Immortal Qi every time the Immortal Realm Gate opened.

The reason they didn't use any Restrictions but simply suppressed it with objects from this place was likely due to their concerns. Any Restriction would have magical power fluctuations, and even if these fluctuations were weak, among those who could enter the Immortal Realm, there must be some with heaven-shattering cultivation. These people would naturally discover clues, and with careful deciphering, this place would be exposed. It was better to have no Restrictions at all and simply suppress it with the stele, which would greatly enhance its concealment.

Wang Lin's mouth curled into a cold sneer. He pressed his right hand on the hole and squeezed fiercely. With several cracking sounds, the remaining Formation eye that gathered Immortal Qi immediately collapsed, and from then on, it could no longer function.

Since he had inevitably provoked this Great Luo Sword Sect and acquired their Immortal Qi, the other party would certainly not let the matter rest. Wang Lin simply went all out, destroying a fixed remaining Formation eye to prevent the other party from coming back to acquire Immortal Qi and cultivate more experts.

The green-robed Cultivator stared intently at Wang Lin, let out a loud shout, and once again activated the treasured sword above his head. Without another word, he fiercely pointed at Wang Lin. The treasured sword immediately shone with myriad golden rays again, and with a gentle swing, a Sword Qi twice as thick as before descended with a roar, as if to cleave the heavens and earth.

After swinging this sword, the man spat out a mouthful of fresh blood and immediately became listless. He didn't look at the result; instead, he immediately grabbed his treasured sword and turned to leave.

Wang Lin's eyes flashed. Without a word, he pointed at his glabella. Immediately, streaks of black light flickered out from his glabella, transforming into Wandering Souls that roared as they rushed into the sky, colliding with the Sword Qi.

At the same time, the Thunder Frog roared, puffed up its abdomen again, and spat out a Lightning Orb slightly larger than before, which whistled towards them.

"Trying to run!" Wang Lin slapped his Storage Pouch, and a Restriction Banner immediately appeared in his hand. This Restriction Banner, in its Minor Achievement state, was naturally extremely powerful. As soon as it appeared, it immediately transformed into a black mist, enveloping Wang Lin, and then suddenly rushed out.

The thick Sword Qi descended, first being pounced upon by hundreds of Wandering Souls one by one. Although the Wandering Souls were immediately shattered upon approaching, the combined power of hundreds of Wandering Souls was considerable, forcing the Sword Qi to shrink by nearly one-fifth. Its light dimmed slightly.

Subsequently, the Thunder Frog's Lightning Orb arrived with a rumble and collided with the Sword Qi. The Lightning Orb immediately transformed into countless specks of light and dissipated completely, but the Sword Qi was once again forcibly shattered, shrinking several times, and its light immediately dimmed to nothing.

Finally, Wang Lin, wrapped in the Restriction Banner, sped out. The Sword Qi was no longer a threat to him and was easily dispersed by the impact of several Restriction Qi.

Wang Lin, enveloped by the Restriction Banner, did not stop and pursued the fleeing green-robed Cultivator.

As the green-robed Cultivator fled, he swept his Divine Sense backward, and his eyes immediately widened, revealing disbelief. He never expected that the opponent would so easily resolve the Sword Qi, which greatly astonished him.

Wang Lin's expression was calm, his gaze serene. The opponent's treasured sword was quite peculiar, and its Sword Qi was extremely strong. If he hadn't made ample preparations before entering the Immortal Realm Gate, he might have been injured by this Sword Qi today.

Every Soul Transformation Cultivator who can enter the Immortal Realm Gate should not be underestimated! Wang Lin once again realized this problem.

Wrapped in the Restriction Banner, Wang Lin's speed was extremely fast, and the distance between him and the green-robed Cultivator was rapidly closing.

The green-robed Cultivator's face was grim. He once again used that unknown Secret Technique, and his speed instantly increased several times. He quickly arrived at the Formation where he had initially descended. He formed Hand Seals, and the Formation reappeared in its original spot. He breathed a sigh of relief; as long as he entered this Formation, with the numerous Immortal Realm fragments, he could randomly choose a transmission point, and the opponent would naturally not be able to catch up.

"Just wait. This time, a total of four people from my Great Luo Sword Sect came. I'm just the one with the lowest cultivation. Once I find my Senior Brother, with our two swords descending together, you absolutely won't be able to leave this Immortal Realm Gate!" He sneered.
