Chapter 30: Wang Hao

“Do you want me to be even more excessive?” Wang Lin, desperate to leave the Miscellaneous Duties Office, was ready to go all out. He wanted to see where the limit of these Senior Martial Uncles lay!

Privately, in the hearts of the Named Disciples, Wang Lin, besides the frequently used terms 'waste' and 'shameless,' had acquired another nickname: 'Black-Hearted Wang'!

Compared to the nickname 'Weasel' of the Young Man surnamed Liu back then, this one was a whole Realm higher.

After a year of Cultivation in the dream Realm, the Spiritual Qi in Wang Lin's body had almost reached several times its previous amount. The first layer of the Qi Condensation Realm had reached its limit; no matter how much he breathed in and out, the Spiritual Qi would no longer increase. So, one night, he began to try activating the incantation for the second layer.

After several consecutive failures, hard work paid off, and he finally succeeded in Breaking Through the first layer of the Qi Condensation Realm, entering the second layer.

A large amount of black grease again appeared from the pores on his body. After washing up, Wang Lin looked at himself in the water, his eyes as bright as lightning, and his whole person seemed somewhat different from before.

He stroked his chin, thinking to himself, “Currently, I only have the incantation for the third layer of the Qi Condensation Realm. If I go to Sun Dazhu to ask for the later ones and let him know I've reached the second layer of Qi Condensation, he'll definitely press for the reason. If I can't explain it then, it's very likely to cause me trouble.”

After thinking for a long time, he couldn't come up with a good idea, and Wang Lin couldn't help but frown.

Sighing, he practiced the Gravity Spell for a while. In the more than a year he spent in the dream Realm, he could now succeed eight or nine times out of ten. Given this, Wang Lin decided to increase the intensity of his training. He found a large stone in the Miscellaneous Duties Office and used the Gravity Spell to control it.

Time flew by, and another month passed. Wang Lin's antics in the Miscellaneous Duties Office had the Named Disciples grumbling, but winter had now arrived, and the School began to prepare for the year-end Inner Sect Disciple Competition.

Additionally, this year was also the Hengyue School's once-a-decade Named Disciple Advancement Competition, where the top three could qualify to become Inner Sect Disciple Attendants. All the Named Disciples were eagerly preparing, with undercurrents of ambition and individual plans brewing.

Consequently, matters concerning the Miscellaneous Duties Office were put on hold, with no one paying them any mind.

Wang Lin was quite disappointed by this. As for the Inner Sect Disciple Competition, Wang Lin did not plan to participate; that time would be better spent Cultivating in the dream Realm.

On this day, the entire Hengyue School was covered in snow, with goose-feather-like snowflakes falling from the sky. From a distance, it was a world of silver, truly a thousand miles of ice and ten thousand miles of snow.

Wang Lin did not Cultivate, but stood quietly in the courtyard. The Gravity Spell moved with his will, as if an invisible large hand was stirring the air around him. Snowflakes scattered and fell around his body, with not a single one landing on him.

Looking towards his home village in the mountains, at this time of year, his parents would always light a warm stove at home.

He would sit by the stove reading, while his father made wood carvings with his tools, and his mother was busy storing pickled vegetables.

Sometimes, when he got tired of reading, he would sit beside his father and watch him make wood carvings. When inspiration struck, he would even go up to help, and the father and son would enjoy themselves together.

Besides these, Wang Lin also remembered that he had hidden some wooden tops under the bed in his small room. Sometimes during the day, he would take them out to play on the ice with his neighborhood friends.

Thinking of these things, Wang Lin couldn't help but take a deep breath. An Immortal Cultivator must cut off mortal ties; these things were obsessions that affected Cultivation. Wang Lin closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, his gaze was clear. With the weight of the mortal world, he admitted he couldn't be emotionless, couldn't cut them off, so he buried them deep in his heart.

While he was feeling nostalgic, his expression suddenly changed. At this point, being in the second layer of the Qi Condensation Realm, he had developed an Immortal's instinct called Divine Sense. All of this was described in detail in the 'Qi Condensation Three Chapters'.

With a sweep of his Divine Sense, he detected Wang Hao walking towards him. Before long, the courtyard gate was pushed open, and Wang Hao, wearing a fur hat and fur coat, looked at Wang Lin in surprise and said, “Brother Tiezhu, aren't you cold? You're standing outside dressed so lightly.”

“I calculated with my fingers that you, kid, would be coming here, so I endured the cold to come out and greet you,” Wang Lin chuckled. He really didn't feel cold. Ever since reaching the second layer of the Qi Condensation Realm, he could clearly feel that his body was much stronger than before.

Wang Hao laughed heartily, walked in, took off his hat, and carefully examined Wang Lin. He suddenly said, “Brother Tiezhu, why do you look different from a few months ago?”

Wang Lin teased, “That's natural. I've now reached the second layer of the Qi Condensation Realm, I'm an Immortal!”

Wang Hao pouted and walked towards the room, saying, “Stop bragging. Our Aptitudes are similar. I have Spirit Pills to assist me, and I still haven't reached the first layer of Qi Condensation. You? Give it up!”

Wang Lin didn't argue. He knew that sometimes when you tell the truth, others won't believe you, and if you lie to cover up, it might even arouse suspicion. After all, his contact with Wang Hao wasn't very deep, so he was naturally a bit guarded in his words.

Wang Lin admitted he couldn't achieve the kind of instant camaraderie some people shared.

“Wang Hao, how do you have time to come here today? Isn't the Pill Room busy?” Wang Lin returned to the room, poured a cup of hot water for the other party, and asked.

Wang Hao took it, blew on the steam a few times, then took a small sip, smiling, “You haven't gone to the Pill Room to get anything these past few months. I've kept your share, and I'm bringing it to you today.” With that, he took out a small package from his怀里 and placed it on the table.

A half-smile appeared on Wang Lin's face. He didn't even glance at the package, quietly waiting for the other party to continue. He didn't believe Wang Hao would come just to deliver things for no reason.

Wang Hao's face flushed slightly from being stared at. He suddenly said, “Brother Tiezhu, I heard you've been doing quite well in the Miscellaneous Duties Office these past few months?”

“Wang Hao, just say what you want. I'll definitely help if I can!” Wang Lin poured himself a cup of water, took a small sip, noncommittally.

A hint of awkwardness flashed across Wang Hao's face. He leaned in closer and whispered mysteriously, “Brother Tiezhu, I've known for a long time that you're a smart person. To be honest, I know you have many Immortal Talismans for Named Disciples to visit relatives. Can you lend me some?”
