Chapter 30: Your First Encounter With Her

[You left the slums, but your legend lives on forever within them. You are hailed as that legendary man.]

[After you left, the criminal underworld of the slums sought to curry favor with you by severely punishing the scavengers who once had conflicts with you. You are feared and dreaded, known as the invisible godfather of the slums.]

[You moved into an area near the city center.]

[The city center has a pleasant environment, devoid of disgusting stenches or messy sewage discharge.]

[Your mood became very pleasant, and your speed in studying magic increased. You triggered Elemental Perception, Mortals Wisdom, and Observer, mastering more attributes by the third year.]

[This year, you are 17 years old.]

[You became a composite Elemental Mage with multiple attributes, including Earth, Wind, Water, Fire, Lightning, Light, Darkness, Life, and Death.]

[Except for Time and Space, which are the hardest to control, you no longer have any shortcomings.]

[That is the Domain belonging to gods—no, to be more precise, it is the Domain of the Supreme God, far beyond what Mortals Wisdom can reach.]

[You have no regrets about this, feeling that being able to master so many elements is already something worth rejoicing over.]

[You composed your mind and focused all your attention on your magic Realm.]

[The Realm of mages is divided into: Magic Apprentice, Official Mage, Elite Mage, Archmage, Archmage, Sanctuary Archmage, and Demigod.]

[Your talent is extraordinary, and your advancement speed is shocking.]

[In the fourth year of the simulation, at 18 years old, you successfully promoted to an Official Mage.]

[In the fifth year of the simulation, at 19 years old, you successfully mastered the level 1-3 basic magic of all attributes. You established contracts with multiple elemental spirits, allowing you to draw mana from the elemental planes to replenish yourself. Your mana capacity is ten times that of an ordinary person; this seems to be a mysterious blessing.]

[In the sixth year of the simulation, at 20 years old, your Realm broke through again.]

[You became an Elite Mage.]

[From now on, you can master level 4-5 magic. As long as you are willing, you can destroy a town at any time; if given enough time, destroying a city would also be effortless.]

[For the sake of keeping a low profile, you did not announce your Elite Mage Realm, claiming instead that you had just broken through to an Official Mage.]

[A new round of sensation began. Although you were sufficiently low-key, when combined with your slum background, your name instantly spread throughout all of Alenson.]

[Within Alenson City, from nobles down to beggars, everyone knows of your existence.]

[A shining new star breaking through the mud.]

[Your story is widely spread, sung by wandering bards to even further regions. You are regarded as a role model by many people living in hardship, and nobles have begun inviting you to banquets. You are infinitely glorious.]

The simulation is going very smoothly.

Even though, in terms of sequence, the first simulation was a beginner's bonus.

But this second simulation has given Xu Xi an unprecedented sense of satisfaction. The three traits complement each other, and the effect is far more than 1+1+1=3.

Being an Elite Mage at just 20 years old.

Xu Xi is confident that before this simulation ends, he will officially step into the Sanctuary Archmage Realm, or even catch a glimpse of the divine Realm.

"After this simulation ends, if I can replicate the Realm within the simulation into reality just like last time, then I will truly be invincible."

"If I remember correctly, the Demigod level in the magic system is equivalent to a Loose Immortal on the cultivation side."

"If I can become a Sanctuary Archmage, by analogy, that would be… the Mahayana stage?"

A person walking on the street.

Xu Xi walked slowly, thinking about things after the simulation ended while absent-mindedly chewing on bread.

In order to return home faster to conduct a new round of magic research.

Xu Xi turned into an alley.

His boots stepped into a muddy pothole, splashing dark brown water. His clean and tidy clothes formed a sharp contrast with the foul-smelling environment around him.

Occasionally, the treading of his boots would collapse rough disguises.

Under the broken bricks and tiles, dried bloodstains were revealed.

This city was never beautiful. The high-and-mighty nobles fought with power, while the people at the bottom used the most primitive violence; therefore, blood was very common here.

But it had nothing to do with Xu Xi.

After all, everyone in this city knew him; no one would be stupid enough to provoke an Official Mage.

"Stop… stop!"

"Hand, hand over the bread!"

A trembling voice came from the front, stuttering with tremors, as if the person who said this was already terrified to the extreme.

Xu Xi stopped his footsteps and looked at the small figure in front.

It was the end of October.

The weather was turning cold.

But that dirty figure was wearing a worn-out short shirt on her upper body and an overly baggy, unattractive dark green pair of wide-legged pants on her lower body; judging by their tattered state, they were perhaps picked up from the trash.

Her hair was full of grime soaked in dirty mud, and a scar on her forehead was vaguely visible.

Her eyes were pale gold, but there was no joy, no sorrow, only empty nothingness and fear of the unknown, giving one the illusion that they were black pupils.

No matter from which angle one looked, one could only feel emptiness and a lack of light.

Xu Xi lowered his gaze.

He saw the small knife she was gripping tightly in her hand.

Even though her body was trembling with fear, and her hand was shaking terribly, she was still clutching this only Sharp Weapon.

It's just—

Trying to rob an Official Mage with a small knife.

Are you overthinking it?

Xu Xi frowned. The Observer trait activated, and he saw more abnormalities in the small figure before him, those strange aspects that were different from normal people.

For example, the broken, dilapidated horns hidden in her hair.

The scales hidden on the surface of her skin that normal humans could not possibly possess.

"So that's it. Is she a half-breed, a combination of human and Demon Race Bloodline? Judging by her appearance, she must have been abandoned and only recently escaped to Alenson City."

"No wonder she dared to come and rob me; she doesn't even know who I am."

Xu Xi took a few steps forward.

The scars on the girl's face, the bruises on her arms, and her trembling, fearful legs were all reflected more clearly in his eyes.

"…How pitiful."

Xu Xi lowered his brows and eyes, sighing softly in his heart.

Since this world has gods who rule over all living beings, it naturally also has the Demon Race, who are at odds with the gods.

Most of the Demon Race are burly and ugly, but there are a few individual races that look similar to humans, arousing the strange sexual interests of some people.

And so.

Impure-blooded, neither human nor demon, mixed-blood offspring were thus born.

Such offspring are almost never acknowledged.

The moment they are born, ninety-nine percent of them are directly abandoned.

Only a very small number of individuals are kept and trained because of their powerful strength, used as alternative soldiers.

Obviously.

Judging by the girl's fearful and trembling behavior, she belongs to the absolute inferior product category; she has neither the strength of the Demon Race nor the normal appearance of a human to blend into ordinary life.

She belongs to the most miserable category.

"No, don't come over!" Facing Xu Xi's approach, the Demon Race girl seemed even more terrified.
