Chapter 310

Unknown Space. Two newcomers found themselves being watched by a crowd of bizarre creatures, and the pressure immediately weighed heavily on them. Though they had both fought countless battles in their respective worlds and had long since seen all manner of strange things, waking up only to find themselves surrounded by such oddities was still hard to accept.

The boy on the left wore coarse linen and a short ascetic’s tunic. His exposed arms and legs were covered in scars, his muscles sharply defined. His bristly black hair was wild and unkempt, while his thick brows and large eyes were especially spirited. His dark face was full of resolve. Though he was young, he gave off a mature, dependable feeling.

The young man on the right was the complete opposite. He wore a refined casual shirt, his hair meticulously styled. His truly protagonist-worthy handsome face was second only to Azeroth’s High Elf among all Dukes. With his steady, capable demeanor and a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, he practically radiated the air of a social elite.

Seeing that the two newcomers were neither bugs, aliens, nor Aliens or orcs, the Dukes finally relaxed and let out long breaths. At last, these ones looked human.

"Excuse me… where is this?" The two newcomers looked utterly bewildered. Hydralisks, aliens, Predators, Zetton, WereGarurumon, Chataro, and Articuno were all staring at them intensely, turning the scene into a chaotic gathering of monsters and freaks. The Blue-Ice White Night Dragon in the distance made Unknown Space look even more like some kind of monster habitat.

The old hands had long gotten used to this. Seeing the newcomers panic helplessly, they did not waste words and simply crowded around to begin merging memories.

The ascetic-looking Duke had quite the background. He was a Saint Seiya who fought for love and peace and protected the Earth… a reserve, that was.

Do not be surprised that Saint Seiya had reserves. With over a thousand people competing for eighty-eight sets of Saint Cloths, having reserves was perfectly normal and logical.

Dead parents were a standard transmigrator trope, and Duke from the Saint Seiya world had not escaped it either. When he was still a little boy, Hades’ Army slaughtered his village. He had narrowly survived and was brought back to Sanctuary by a Saint Seiya who arrived too late, where he was trained as fresh blood.

For Saint Seiya, a high-risk profession with an average lifespan below eighteen, Duke’s first response had been refusal. His life was one concern, but the treatment was the real problem. Never mind insurance and housing funds—Sanctuary, humanity’s last line of defense, did not even pay wages. During holidays, they had to work overtime for free, and they were all child laborers besides… It was simply inhuman!

Becoming a full-fledged Saint Seiya was not too bad. Wearing gold and silver, they could at least look impressive and show off when they went out. Failing the competition, however, was miserable. They became cannon fodder who ran errands and did odd jobs, faceless background characters sharing one line throughout the entire story: "What a powerful Cosmo!"

And then they were gone…

So Duke had refused the Silver Saint who brought him back to Sanctuary on the spot. But it was useless. Children had no say, and the Silver Saint’s fist, brimming with love, promptly made Duke change his mind.

I’ll take things one step at a time!

With that mindset, Duke began his arduous cultivation in Sanctuary. The very next day, he regretted it. He bitterly blamed himself for not holding out a little longer when he was beaten. If he had endured it, he would not have had to suffer now.

The harsh cultivation of Saint Seiya was not fit for humans. Or rather, those damned instructors did not treat him like a human at all. They trained him to death in earnest, and if they did not leave him half-dead every day, they felt uncomfortable all over.

By the way, Dohko and Shion were also tender little rookies at the time. Every day, Duke could hear their pig-slaughter screams from next door.

Those two goofy future Gold Saints meant Duke had traveled back in time!

Going back in time was no big deal. It was only two hundred years earlier, after all. Death was death no matter where it happened. With the resolve to face death, Duke threw himself into that one-way trip through Hellish training. A few days later, however, his modern consciousness started acting up again.

Duke had been mentally prepared. He had not expected Sanctuary to have solar power or Wi-Fi; it was two hundred years ago, after all, and the Underworld had not even laid internet cables. He could not demand too much. Besides, the road to becoming strong allowed no material comforts whatsoever. A little hardship and simplicity were normal and understandable.

But what the hell was with only two sets of clothes per year? Saint Seiya who shed blood and gave their lives to protect the world actually had to sew their own underwear. Did they have to be this poor?

Did His Holiness the Pope think that gentlemen let it all hang out while petty men hid their junk, so Saint Seiya ought to go commando into battle?

The female Saint Seiya clearly had black stockings and high-cut leotards!

To sum it up, Sanctuary could be described with one word.

Poor!

Poor as hell! Poor beyond belief! So poor that there was nothing there except poverty!

Even Gold Saints slept on stone beds, so one could imagine everyone else’s treatment. Duke, for example, slept on the road every night. In all of Sanctuary, only the goddess had it a little better. Supposedly, she had a cotton quilt passed down from two hundred years ago…

Fortunately, while Sanctuary was poor, it still had some basic decency. His Holiness the Pope had built quite a few public toilets. Otherwise, even the glorious Gold Saints would have had to handle their personal business inside the halls of the Twelve Temples.

Forget about toilet paper. Saint Seiya rejected every form of extravagance and indulgence. Luxuries like toilet paper were destined to remain forever out of reach for Sanctuary. Besides, did everyone not have ten fingers?

What, you ask what Goddess Athena did?

Come on. Anyone who asked that was obviously a pathetic loser! Goddesses did not poop. Goddesses laid eggs directly, and pink ones at that.

As the saying went, people were forced into shape by circumstances. Duke had complained about everything at first, but now he had grown used to everything and perfectly integrated into Sanctuary’s big family. His Cosmo had also developed to the Sixth Sense. Do not underestimate the Sixth Sense; even Gold Saints only reached the Seventh Sense. Reaching the Sixth Sense already made one an extraordinary master.

It was just that the beasts of Sanctuary’s generation two hundred years ago were so strong they barely seemed human. Duke’s strength would have guaranteed him a Silver Saint position in the next generation, but now he could only barely qualify as a reserve. If he wanted to wear a Saint Cloth, he could only wait for the Holy War to begin and for Hades’ Army to blow up its current owner.

After working bitterly for more than ten years, he had ended up as a backup. It was truly tragic!

Duke from the Saint Seiya world spent nearly every day being worked to the bone, and everyone looked at him with sympathy after seeing his memories. But the other newcomer Duke was completely different. This truly protagonist-worthy man spent every day screwing other people—screwing them in the most literal sense.

His parents had also died, but there had been a slight twist in his case. His mother died early, and after his father raised him, he found a stepmother for him and brought home a stepsister as well. Then… his biological father died.

His stepmother was full of married-woman charm, and his stepsister was youthful and beautiful. Living every day with two beauties, naturally, led to all sorts of delightful developments. Even Duke did not understand why chatting somehow always ended up in bed, but it happened anyway. At first, he had only wanted to help with some massage therapy.

After moving house once, he finally understood the world he was in. Green Green Grassland’s kind fathers were not his fault. The problem was this world.

Because this was the Ura Ichiban World!

After moving, the family next door was a blended household: three mothers and daughters and their loving head of the household. Their stepfather, Mr. Akizuki, seemed to adore his two daughters. The other neighboring household was also a single-parent family. There really were a lot of single-parent families in this world. Aunt Akiko, the gentle and virtuous widow next door, had a kind heart that loved helping others, and her hobby was making jam.

Just when he thought that was all this world had to offer, reports of monster invasions began airing on television. Then heroic women stepped forward, thrusting out their chests. Several were quite famous, with memorable names, such as Anti-Demon, Choukou, Knights of the Demon World, and Angel. However, the Magical Girls and mature beauties seemed not to have trained enough. More than once, Duke saw them dragged into the woods by tentacled monsters on television. Though they always won in the end… why the hell did nationwide broadcasts not censor anything?

The world was shameless, but people still had to live on tenaciously. Setting aside the daily benefits provided by Magical Girls, everyday life was fairly normal.

In middle school, transfer students, repeat students, and new arrivals appeared one after another, leaving him dizzy. In college, beautiful female teachers emerged endlessly. Duke banged his way through them all, and as he kept going, he discovered… he had good kidneys. He had only been well-endowed before, but now he was skilled as well.

What a sin!

Only after graduating from college did his absurd life improve slightly. When he was assigned to intern at a hospital, he met a male doctor named Ryuji. That was quite ordinary. Dr. Ryuji was modest and polite, with an unremarkable appearance. Judging from his superb medical skills, one could tell he was not some heinous villain.

After his internship ended, he chose to become a school doctor at a university. On his first day, he met Kitami, the school doctor in the infirmary. This woman was like a fully ripened peach, constantly giving off an alluring fragrance. Compared to the highly popular Teacher Takashiro at the school, Dr. Kitami was far too seductive. Still, Duke figured a quick lay would not hurt. He was not a picky eater.

The school where he clocked in and out every day was quite nice, aside from a student surnamed Ito who bothered him a little…

After watching Duke from the Ura Ichiban World’s wonderful life, all the Dukes applauded in unison. So many benefits flooding into their minds at once left them too excited to speak.

Their blood surged as they repeatedly chanted, "Good kidneys! Good kidneys! Great kidneys! Great kidneys!"

Duke from the Saint Seiya world rubbed his nose. After more than ten years of ascetic training, seeing such explicit scenes nearly made him laugh himself to death. After exchanging memories, he also understood Unknown Space’s situation. He coughed and asked everyone, "Gentlemen, the Holy War is about to begin. The enemy boss is Pluton Hades. Do you have any good ideas you could share?"

The Dukes immersed in Ura Ichiban had no mind to spare for him. They stared foolishly as they continued reviewing the memories. Seeing that no one paid attention to him, Saint Seiya Duke had no choice but to grab someone beside him and ask what way out there was.

Unfortunately, the person he grabbed was Naruto World’s Duke. His memories had been interrupted, and he snapped angrily, "Stop making noise. Can’t you see I’m busy?"

"But there are one hundred and eight Specters, plus Bleach and the God of Sleep, along with the final boss Hades. Their lineup is really powerful!" With life and death on the line, Saint Seiya Duke felt that Ura Ichiban could wait. Saving his life came first.

"Hades?"

"Yes! Hades!"

"You’re making a fuss over nothing! New guy, broaden your horizons. What’s so great about Hades? Even my dog has that name!"

"…"
