Chapter 32 Yuqing Sect

Junior Brother Bai Ming felt the thick spiritual energy and compared it inwardly.

The density of this spiritual energy already exceeded that of the city by several times, almost catching up to the concentration in the Song family's cultivation chamber.

However, the space of the cultivation chamber was far less vast than the Yuqing Sect.

So this is the foundation of one of the Seven Sects. And this is just a branch; no wonder Patriarch Song wanted me to join the sect.

Most of the buildings inside were simple and ancient, exuding an immortal aura.

The first thing that came into view were rows of cave dwellings, specifically for disciples to cultivate and recuperate, followed by compartments for alchemy and artifact refining.

Bright, glaring characters stood in front of the doors. If one sensed carefully, they could still feel the wafting scent of pills and the occasional sound of hammering.

The white-robed disciples of the Yuqing Sect sometimes cast their gazes at Junior Brother Bai Ming, an outsider whose attire differed from theirs, but after a few breaths, they returned to their cultivation.

The junior disciple smiled, "May I ask what brings Fellow Daoist Bai to our sect?"

Junior Brother Bai Ming withdrew his gaze, "I have long admired the Immortal Sect, and have come specifically to pay a visit."

The junior disciple looked disappointed, "Is that so? I thought there was some major event." He quickly changed his attitude, "Apologies, I was a bit rude just now. Please, follow me."

Junior Brother Bai Ming followed the junior disciple to observe the interior of the sect; apart from some forbidden areas, he basically saw everything.

The junior disciple sometimes explained the history, sometimes told interesting stories, and Junior Brother Bai Ming got along quite well with him.

The junior disciple turned to the side, looking somewhat mysterious, "Right, Brother Bai, since you live in the Song family, do you happen to know any secrets?"

Junior Brother Bai Ming smiled, "I won't talk about leaking confidential matters."

The junior disciple's eyes lit up, and he became interested, "Why would I ask about such things? Besides, I'm not interested in those."

The junior disciple leaned toward Junior Brother Bai Ming's ear and whispered, "It's just that about a month ago, one evening, a youth covered in blood and looking gaunt suddenly escaped from the Song family. Brother Bai, do you know about this?"

Junior Brother Bai Ming bowed slightly and shook his head, "I do not."

He had only recently woken up; how could he know about such matters?

The junior disciple continued, "That's a pity. At that time, that youth suddenly broke into the outer perimeter of our Yuqing Sect, wanting to pass through."

"But he suddenly ran out of the Song family covered in blood. Not knowing the truth, how could we let him pass?"

Junior Brother Bai Ming guessed, "So you suppressed him and returned him to the Song family for disposal?"

The junior disciple shook his head, his finger waving along, "No, no, no. To be specific, we didn't suppress him."

Junior Brother Bai Ming was surprised, "What was his cultivation level that he could escape your pursuit?"

The junior disciple showed a look of recollection, "I participated in that battle at the time. There were seven of us in total: three at Qi Refining Peak, four at Qi Refining Stage 8, and he was also just at Qi Refining Peak."

Junior Brother Bai Ming's eyes widened, surprised inwardly. This was a siege by seven people, and they were disciples of the Seven Sects, not some small fry.

The junior disciple looked at Junior Brother Bai Ming's expression and smiled knowingly, "It is indeed shocking. We didn't expect it at the time either; that person's fire-attribute techniques were incredibly strong."

"He was determined to escape, and his speed was astonishingly fast. The Song family cultivators were left far behind. Plus, he caught us off guard and heavily injured one of our sect's disciples, so in reality, only four of us from the Yuqing Sect were fighting."

"We thought that once the sword formation was out, the outcome was set, but in a desperate situation, he erupted again, broke the sword formation, and increased his speed even further. At the time, only Senior Brother Xiao could keep up."

The junior disciple rubbed his chin, his brows locked, "But when we finally arrived, only Senior Brother Xiao remained, carrying some strange flames, and the youth was already gone."

Junior Brother Bai Ming now felt a bit of admiration; to be able to escape under such circumstances.

"In the end, did he escape?"

The junior disciple shook his head, "In the end, Patriarch Song took action, suppressed him with one hand, and killed him on the spot. Now that I think about it, that youth's face has always been blurry in my memory. I suppose he used a concealment spell."

He sighed, "It's a pity; I still wanted to see what he actually looked like."

With a thud.

The junior disciple took a knock on the forehead and covered his head with both hands. A man in white had appeared before them at some unknown time.

Xiao Yu withdrew his hand, "What nonsense are you spouting to people again?"

The junior disciple rubbed his forehead, "I was just a bit curious. Don't you feel curious, Senior Brother?"

Xiao Yu sighed a few times, "If you continue like this, I'm afraid you'll be silenced."

The junior disciple was surprised, "It's that serious!"

Xiao Yu held his forehead, "You are curious about everything and want to get to the bottom of everything. If this continues, I fear it will bring about a fatal disaster."

The junior disciple interrupted, "That can't be. Who would dare to kill a disciple of our Yuqing Sect? Besides, Patriarch Song is a righteous person; how could he do such a thing?"

Xiao Yu was furious and reached out to hit him. The junior disciple shrank back and hid behind Junior Brother Bai Ming.

Junior Brother Bai Ming was a bit at a loss and stood quietly.

Xiao Yu bowed, "Please do not take those words to heart, Fellow Daoist; just consider them as nonsense."

Junior Brother Bai Ming nodded. Actually, he was somewhat interested in the matter just now, but since the person was already dead, he had no thoughts of delving deeper.

"No problem."

Xiao Yu's eyes narrowed, "Right, Fellow Daoist, what brings you to our Yuqing Sect?"

Junior Brother Bai Ming tried to speak as calmly as possible, "Actually, I was recently accepted as a disciple by the Yuqing Sect, and I came specifically to check out the sect's branch."

Xiao Yu paused, "Then, Fellow Daoist, do you have a disciple jade token?"

A jade token for a personal disciple was handed to Xiao Yu.

He examined it carefully and was shocked inwardly. Isn't this a personal disciple's jade token?

The delicate-looking youth before him had obviously only just guided Qi into his body; he had likely not even been on the path of cultivation for a week. How could he have a personal disciple's jade token?

The junior disciple exclaimed from the side, "So this jade token is yours, Junior Brother Bai Ming? I thought it was Senior Sister Song's."

Xiao Yu was a bit confused, "May I ask who gave you this jade token?"

"Sect Master Wang."

Xiao Yu's eyes were filled with confusion; he couldn't figure it out.

Why would the Sect Master suddenly give a Qi Refining Stage 1 personal disciple jade token? And he hadn't even joined the sect yet.

Xiao Yu's attitude softened, "So it is a Junior Brother; I have been negligent before."

The three of them went together, and Xiao Yu explained some of the rules and cultivation matters of the Yuqing Sect to them.

Xiao Yu changed the subject, "Right, Junior Brother Bai, which master have you chosen?"

Junior Brother Bai Ming looked confused, "There's such a thing?"

The junior disciple interjected, "Originally, only peak masters could choose personal disciples. Logically speaking, personal disciples are meant to inherit their mantle."

Junior Brother Bai Ming was puzzled, "But Sect Master Wang only gave me this token; I'm not too clear on the rest."

Xiao Yu frowned in deep thought, "It seems Sect Master Wang has other arrangements. It may also be that you have just stepped into cultivation, and your own abilities have not yet been demonstrated; choosing rashly might affect your path."

Junior Brother Bai Ming nodded, quite agreeing. Not to mention that he currently knew nothing about the peak masters of the Yuqing Sect's peaks, even according to normal procedures, he should be the one being chosen.

While they were talking, a green figure slowly floated toward them. The woman had a beautiful face, eyes like autumn water, and a faint smile on her face.
