Chapter 339: Finally Seeing the derivation law jade

"I will wait for you all to come out here."

"The derivation law jade must be used in sequence. I do not know which of you will go first."

"In any case, after the derivation concludes, we shall reconvene here."

The black-clad Cultivator spoke succinctly.

Seeing the passage ahead take shape, Han Yi simply gave a slight nod and an affirmative grunt before impatiently rushing inside.

"Thank you for your hard work, Senior." Li Fan, on the other hand, bowed to the black-clad Cultivator before slowly stepping inside.

Simon Yue followed Li Fan's lead and was the last to enter the black stone tablet.

The black-clad Cultivator watched as the variegated light on the tablet was gradually submerged by blackness once more. His body remained motionless, standing before the black square tablet like a stone statue.

…

"Applicant for the derivation law jade: Xiao Fan."

"Number: 17. Authority Rank: Nascent Soul."

"Please wait patiently. Estimated remaining wait time: seven days and six double-hours."

Light gradually returned to his vision, and a lazy voice drifted into Li Fan's ears.

Looking around, he saw that he was currently in a sealed space.

The space was not particularly spacious, and the decor was quite simple.

There was only a set of a table and chair, a few pots of flowers and plants, and a single bookshelf.

On one wall, Li Fan's application information and the countdown timer were displayed.

Han Yi and Simon Yue were nowhere to be seen. Li Fan guessed that every applicant stayed in their own independent space.

Within this space, the Spiritual Qi in his body remained dormant; he was unable to Cultivate.

Seven days was neither long nor short.

With nothing else to do, Li Fan walked to the bookshelf to check the books placed there.

Unlike Jade Slips, which could be read with Divine Sense,

these books appeared to be pure paper products that required manual flipping.

However, Li Fan had started as a scholar, so reading was no difficult task for him.

He picked up a few volumes, sat down, and began to read slowly.

"Instructions for Using the derivation law jade", "Ten Theories of Derivation", "The Division of Person and Object: On the Differences Between the derivation law jade's Derivation and a Cultivator's Derivation"…

…

Time flowed slowly as Li Fan immersed himself in reading.

By the time he finished several books, he had gained a general understanding of the derivation law jade he was about to see.

As a great treasure of the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance and the Foundation of the Law Enforcement Hall, the derivation law jade bore the responsibility of creating and deriving New Dharma.

Every moment, brand-new Cultivation Techniques that had never existed before were being derived.

And this derivation process was not allowed to be interrupted.

However, Cultivation Techniques were categorized by Rank. The difficulty of deriving a Dao Integration technique versus a Foundation Establishment technique was naturally worlds apart.

When the derivation law jade was deriving low-level techniques, she was in a low-energy state and had the spare capacity to help Cultivators derive techniques.

When the derivation law jade was deriving high-level techniques, the Cultivators had to wait patiently.

For each jin fa jade token, the time one could apply to derive techniques varied according to the token's Rank.

The Dao Integration Rank allowed for about two days, while a Nascent Soul Rank like Li Fan's token basically only provided three double-hours of usage time.

Cultivators using the derivation law jade had two modes to choose from.

The first was to provide only the general attributes and requirements of the technique, letting the derivation law jade derive it spontaneously from nothing.

Although this "Creation from Nothing" had no cost, the final product of the technique might not be entirely satisfactory.

Furthermore, if the set requirements were too high and the time needed for the derivation law jade to derive it exceeded the limit,

it was very likely that the final result would only be a flawed version of the technique.

The second mode was to provide a basic blueprint technique, allowing the derivation law jade to derive an advanced technique based on it.

The advantage of this was the ability to customize more precisely and obtain one's ideal technique.

Additionally, the time required for the derivation law jade to derive it would be greatly reduced.

After the first version of the technique was generated, if one was unsatisfied with the results, they could have the derivation law jade adjust it again.

This could continue until the time expired.

The disadvantage was that the Rank of the blueprint technique could not be lower than the derived technique.

Otherwise, the derivation efficiency would be greatly reduced, becoming almost no different from "Creation from Nothing."

Techniques derived through personal application to the derivation law jade were taught directly to the applicant by the derivation law jade herself.

They were not entered into the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance's technique library.

The Cultivator had complete autonomy over how to handle them.

Similarly, there were no restrictions on the source of the blueprint technique, and it would not be recorded or reported to the technique library either.

…

After carefully reading through all the necessary precautions, Li Fan adjusted his original plan.

A moment later, he had made a final decision on how to use it for this life.

"Only, in these instructions…"

Li Fan's expression was a bit strange.

He had keenly noticed the use of words like "she" and "herself" when the books mentioned the derivation law jade.

"Could it be that the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance's derivation law jade is actually a Cultivator?"

"That is somewhat unexpected."

Li Fan looked at the countdown on the wall.

There were still three days left.

He began reading other books related to derivation theory.

Most were the written insights of some of the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance's most famous Derivation Masters after using the derivation law jade.

Li Fan had previously spent nearly twenty years fusing techniques and insights to derive the "Mind Spirit Illusory Art."

He could barely be considered half a Weaver. Reading this now, he found it quite interesting and did not feel bored.

Time hurried by.

Soon, that previous notification sound rang out again.

"Cultivator Xiao Fan, it will soon be your turn. Please be prepared."

Li Fan placed the book back on the shelf, took a deep breath, and felt his spirit surge.

The countdown on the wall slowly reached zero.

Everything in the space began to turn illusory.

It transformed into grains of light, drifting away in a certain direction.

Li Fan floated in the space, momentarily stunned.

Scanning his surroundings, he found himself in a vast, boundless void.

In an instant, a flash of insight struck him. Li Fan followed the previous grains of light and flew forward.

Before long, he saw a massive sphere composed of countless characters.

Every character on the sphere was in a state of infinite and endless transformation every second.

Occasionally, an entire section of characters on the sphere would pause for a moment, then emit a burst of flickering light.

They would vanish.

And then the endless transformation and derivation would begin anew.

Below this massive sphere, a desk floated in the void.

A loli who looked only five or six years old was sprawled across the desk.

She looked listless as she watched the text constantly surfacing on the tabletop.

"She is the derivation law jade?"

Li Fan slowly flew closer, but found that after reaching a certain distance, he could no longer approach.

Seeing that the little loli seemed completely unaware of his presence, he had no choice but to give a light cough.

"May I ask…"

"What kind of technique are we deriving? What are the requirements? Creation from Nothing or blueprint derivation?"

"Write it down yourself first."

The little loli didn't even look up, speaking in a childish, milky voice.

Then, her fleshy little hands patted the tabletop. After a flash of light, a piece of paper instantly appeared.

The little loli picked up the paper and tossed it in front of Li Fan.

Li Fan sized up the derivation law jade, his heart feeling increasingly strange.

However, he did not dally. He took the paper, and as he thought of his intent, lines of writing immediately surfaced on it.

"Blueprint techniques: 'Thousand Machines Jade Universe Golden Chapter', 'Heaven Stealing Sun Switching Art'. Reference secret art: 'Appearance Follows Heart Change'."

"Derive a technique that can completely transform one into another person."
